"Not much we can do, you know? Our hospitals, our barracks, our manufacturing. It was bombed out before the attack..." The driver sighed and stopped, looking over the railing of the staircase into the soldiers
"Least we got some reinforcements." The driver said, gesturing to Steel

"Well, I'll see if I can't get us a few supplies through channels. Steal a few if I have to. We'll see if the Empire has some to donate." Steel took a quick look around for the base commander.

"Through here." The driver said, gesturing to a door. He pushed through, with Steel directly behind him and entered what looked like a throne room, which had been converted A large table sat in the middle of the room, with a man looking down at it and making adjustments https://imgur.com/rgdG8Ky

"Come here, I'll demonstrate for you." The man motioned for Steel to come closer, as a few other Soldiers that stood around the table itself made room
Straight to the point, huh?
Steel stepped up at the spot that had been made, and the commander extended a hand to shake "I'm Commander Shawn Murray, but you can call me Commander. I'm assuming you're the guy from the dojo? Steel?"
-
"The one out of twentyfour. But yeah, I'm from the Dojo," Steel shook the Commander's hand, positioning his body in such a way that resembled a bow. "From what I understand, Couldbournes want this place gone or theirs. That's pretty stupid, because now the have to fight me."
-
"Ha! Good to have you! Coldbourne's want this for it's strategic positioning. We're in the middle of everything really, close to the Oil fields, the oceans, the quarries. They find us dangerous to be so close." The commander said, pulling his hand back. He gestured at the map, pointing at a hill, like area that held a village or city "That's where we are." The commander said, making a circle with his finger
-
"Resources. Of course it's resources. I thought these guys were 'magic' or something?"
-
"Define Magic...." The Commander looked at Steel, his head tilted slightly "You count technology that no else has as magic, then sure."
-
"I meant it as sarcasm. These guys are weak-sacue in comparison to real empires," Steel's helmet rearranged itself in a manner that seemed slightly irritated.
-
"Their Gas is our main concern. The first attack they launched came with a strange green gas that knocked most of our army out. You know anything about that gas?"
-
"Yeah. It sucks. Gave me a terrible hangover. Messes up the nervous system for a while, probably has some sort of connection to the noosphere, to block psychic abilities and the like. Sealed suits are a recommendation, gas masks are a must."
-
"We'll distribute what we can, but resources are limited. Jensen, get on it." The commander looked at one of the soldiers, who immediately left the table and ran off "You have any other suggestions? I'm sure you saw some of the damage already done..."
-
"Psychological warfare. Make it look like we're stronger than we actually are. If you have a Holo-projecter, I can make it very confusing for them."
-
"Does a holographic table work? We got one in the old barracks, if we can find it in the rubble."
-
"That should work. It just needs to make holograms, I can do the rest."
-
"Ransley, take him to the old barracks." The driver that had escorted Steel here nodded, and the Commander looked back at Steel "You can leave whenever ready."
-Leave Now -Look Around
-
"Hang on a second, I want to check a few things with you. Expected forces, our supplies, that sort of thing,"
-
"I'll show you to the storeroom, most of our supplies are in the basement of the palace." Ransley said, starting to leave the throne room
-
Steel followed Ransely, "Commander, I've spent years on the front lines against enemies like this. Crew morale is far more important than supplies. I can set up a supply line from the Dojo. If you're rationing food, don't. A fulfilled warrior is a dangerous warrior, after all."
-
"You can?" Ransley asked as exited the room. "Sir, the dojo is very capable after all." The Jeep driver began, before falling silent
-
"Not only that, but I know a few 'foreign powers' who might be willing t- Nah. That's dumb, forget I said anything. But I can get supply lines."
-
"It might be difficult, Coldbourne's have access to most of the land between us and the dojo." The trio went down the main staircase, into the ball room and Ransley led Steel through a set of doors that was between the dual staircase. The doors opened into a staircase leading downwards, where Ransley went
-
"I have ways around that. The Driver's seen it himself," Steel's helmet retracted, exposing his face again.
