Seriously...
I popped on last night to play a few strikes, but after 1 Strike I just felt sick and switched off. I looked at all the pathetic posts on LFG:-
* 400's Only
* 3 deaths you get booted
* Must have Emblem
* 20+ Raid Clears Only (Checking Stats)
* No Squeakers
Destiny 2 is just around the corner and people are still taking this shit serious; for gear that is going to be obsolete in a month or 2. NOTHING IS GETTING CARRIED OVER!
Don't you guys understand?
I can understand sub 5000 Grimoire Iron Pups that just recently bought the game are still playing, but for everyone else; what keeps you playing this re-skinned / rehashed garbage?
-
Tl;dr: I play it because to me it is still fun. What else matters? First of all, it's cool that you think that this stuff is garbage. That's your opinion. Don't let people sway your opinion if that's how you truly feel. Secondly, I sure I speak on behalf of many other players that say that we don't play any other games, just Destiny. That's a common misconception. I love Destiny and although I spend the majority of my gaming on it I also play others on my Xbox1 and 3DS. That being said I still play Destiny because, in terms of having synergy between guns and player powers, Destiny feels a lot more engaging than other games. Also, I play it because it is NOT another military shooter. I've had enough of those even though I still play BF1.

I get on once a week or so for the three triumph boxes and then get off. Destiny is in its "been there done that" phase. I earned all the best gear like a year or more ago and just upgraded it all. I played the new crota and vog raids and have no desire to touch the others ever again. Destiny is not the kind of game I can just get on and play for fun its a game I play for the rewards (of which I have pretty much everything)

PvP 🕺
-
Cuz it's fun
-
Because...I still enjoy raiding and getting loot that I can use and will be able to for as long as Destiny 1 stays up? I may want to come back to the OG Destiny to play a bit for nostalgia years later.

Its fun
-
That would be awesome if D2 came out in a month or two!!!! Sorry, I couldn't really take this post seriously after reading it. But if you don't want to play, no one cares. Shocking people actually care what others do in their own homes on a gaming console.
-
I don't. I haven't in a long time. The game isn't the game I came to really enjoy when I bought in to it. They made many activities we had in Y1 irrelevant, they nerfed a ton of the weapons that made the game fun, and the loot system is so screwed up that PVE comes down to nothing more than a choice between doing strikes or PVP. Even the AoT raids, while seemingly exciting, aren't all that great. The raids themselves may be fun to play, but it would just be rerunning what is effectively old content with some new twists for weapons which essentially already had in the vault, and are mere shadows of their former selves to begin with. Stack on top of that that nothing we do from here on out matters, and I really can't say I regret my decision to not get RoI. I'm only here because I keep hoping D2 is more like Y1 than Y2/Y3.

I play because I like the game
-
Tooo cheap to buy something new
-
Well... I've been playing since close to release, maybe a week or two after the release of the game and had many breaks here and there. I had a break from the game after the house of wolves, a long break after ttk. And now I've just returned to see what's new and I honestly don't know what to do first xp

Edited by blade329: 4/26/2017 3:03:00 PMSome players never learn. It's that kind of exclusive behavior that brought about the massive April update and 3oC. If you move to deprive people from playing the game, Bungie is going to respond. Usually in ways that these guys don't like. I still play PvP on occasion because I have a few goals I want to meet and I'm trying to get a few "Adept" weapons from the Crucible bounties. I'll play a Strike now and then as well.

Edited by Roe Larry: 4/26/2017 3:04:12 PMI love VoG.

Why do YOU care how others spend their time?
-
Honestly the only reason probably am playing it again is because I've taken about 4 extended (like months between) breaks from the game once I started getting bored. Prior to coming back this time the last time I played was probably about a week after RoI released. I'm currently just farming random shit to possibly hit 400 ( I don't actually care because I'm not going to raid since I'm the only one of my friends that actually still have this game installed) and at the moment I'm just going through the Khostov questline simply because I like the model of the weapon. After I get it though, no clue on if I'll still do some AF to level a bit or quit again.

Edited by nomorbountisXP: 4/26/2017 2:53:00 PMSo according to you I should not play any game I enjoy playing because it won't last forever? FFS PEOPLE PS4 PRO WILL BE GONE IN A FEW YEARS...WHY ARE YOU STILL PLAYING ON IT?! 🙄

I have nearly every gun and armor. The ones I don't have I don't really care to get or not. I play Destiny really only to raid these days. I don't raid to get the gear. I raid because it's fun. It's always been fun. My group I met randomly on lfg back in year 1 on Xbox 360 running VoG. They pulled me through it since I'd not done it yet, mind you it was like a month after it had dropped. We still laugh at each other messing up, still get a kick when someone gets launched over the chasm by the pistols in Kings Fall. Still laugh when one of us goes to slam Aksis and get bucked off his back out into the open area behind the playing zone. We are not super elite, but we get it done having fun. Hell it took us 3 hours Sunday night to get WoTM challenges done, but it was fun. I still Destiny for that. The groups that I've made for the past 3 years.

year one vet talking so no iron pups allowed :) first off, that LFG post is hilarious and so sad at the same time. the really reason i still play is the titan. skating and shoulder charging is just too much fun kinda a douchy thing to do but it makes me happy so i dont care
-
Because I find the game fun and I still enjoy playing it. That's why.
-
Are you having a laugh. I play it because I'm good at the game. Really good at the game. I have no interest in any other game. I have it on both PS4 and Xbox one. I couldn't give a toss if the gear ain't carried over. I'll still play one when two is out.
-
Dammit I only played D1 for 2.5 years cause I thought it would carry over! I quit!
-
I play to make fun of the people who left their console on for 77 hours straight to get a terrible looking emblem.
-
I'm still hunting Xylar the Timeless.
-
Still want that vog armor
-
AoT was fun for about a week, then the book was done and there's nothing but collecting things that really don't matter at all. I've already had all those weapons, I've already had all the armor, I've already done everything the book says I haven't. I tried to fill up everything in the book...I stopped at 100% even though there are still 4-5 incomplete pages. There's no point...not even fun.

Currently i don't. I just pop on here every now and then to see what enrages player still playing
