He turned around slowly, slinging the branch on his shoulder.
"Maybe. Why?"

A red cloaked figure stepped out of the bush, his bow trained on Cannon. It was Mongolian in design, so it was meant for fast shooting. "No reason, stranger." The cloaked man said. Cannon heard another bow being pulled back from behind him now as well.
-
He remaines standing, the branch resting on his shoulder. There is no fear on his face. "Aren't the bows a tad overkill?"
-
"Said the guy who's holding a stick." Said the new bowman. Both of the cloaked figures chuckled before the first archer asked Can his question. "What are you doing here? What's your business?"
-
Cannon smirked slightly, and dropped the stick. "I'm trying to get away from them. What else?" He gestures towards the side of the grove he came from.
-
"'Them?'" The archer asked. He knew what the man was referring to, but he didn't want to take a second guess.
-
"Grenwald. Who else?" He asked, looking a bit tired. "They don't seem to like my kind."
-
"And what would 'your kind' be?" He asked Can. There was a hint of skepticism in his voice.
-
"I'm a nomad. A shepherd from the mountains on the far side of their territory. One of my sheep went missing and I wandered into their terf looking for it. They didn't like that." He replied.
-
"So you are a mountain man, then?" The second archer asked Can.
-
"No. Mountain men live on the peaks. I live in the glens and valleys between. Well, I did live there. Until those freaks decided they wanted my sheep." He sayed, gesturing towards the woods behind him again.
-
The men seemed less on edge now. The first archer then spoke. "What's your name, Shepard?" He asked.

Edited by Cannon011: 4/19/2017 3:12:30 AM"Canderouse." He replied, sounding weary. "You aren't going to hand me over to them again, are you?"
-
"We wouldn't dream of it." The second archer said. The first then spoke. "Say, Canderouse. Have you ever...thought about higher beings, before? God, In particular?"
-
"Aye, once or twice." He replied, soundibg slightly confused as the question seemed out of the blue. "Though I can't see how it should matter to a lowly shepherd. I barely made it day to day, let alone had much time for pondering such things."
-
"Had you ever thought before that you could be more than that? Then a Shepard?" The archer asked. The two men's bows were not trained on him anymore.
-
"Not really. My father was a shepherd, as was my grandfather and his father." He shrugged.
-
"Are you sure about that?" The second archer asked. "Come on now. Living on a farm filled with sheep can't be that exciting. Especially in this world we live. You never wanted...MORE?"
-
"Thought of it, sure. But I never believed I'd get the chance. Why?" He asked.
-
"Never get the chance he says." The archer said to his peer. "Ha! Well, looks like he's gotten lucky. Sir, we can help you find...MORE. Spiritual enlightenment if you will. We worship the one true God, Majora, as his power is absolute. Are you...curious, to see what he has in store?"
-
Cannon listened wide eyed. "Aye, I would!" He replied enthusiastically.
-
"Good, good." The archer said. "Now, if you'll excuse us, we will have to blindfold you for the next part of this journey. Are you....comfortable, with that?"
-
Edited by Cannon011: 4/19/2017 10:55:52 PM"If it means getting further away from them, then yes." He replied.
-
"Good! Good..." the archer said as he walked behind Cannon. Soon, everything was dark, and Cannon was trekking unknowingly through the woods to his unknown destination...."
end of chapter Seven
