Valid points all around. Gaming is an economy. The less money that flows through it, the less product that will be on the market. I am all for getting the best value for my gaming pleasure, but ultimately paying for the games I enjoy help keep them around.

  • Video games are all candidates and our dollars are all voters

  • A fairly accurate analogy. Big difference being that when I "vote" for a game, I essentially get what I voted for. That doesn't always happen in elections. Either way, we "vote" and we hope to get a product that brings us satisfaction. Preordering is basically casting an early ballot. To expound upon the analogy, I liked Destiny. I am more than likely to elect it to another term (Destiny 2). How much I am impressed/excited by it will influence when I "vote" for it. May 18th is the very earliest that I will preorder.
