When you pro-order the digital copy (which a surprisingly large number of people such as myself do), you have to pay full price up front. And cancelling a pre-order on a digital purchase is a nightmare.
Reason I buy digital is because me and a buddy gameshare with each other.

When I pre ordered digital it told me that I would be charged no sooner than 10 days before release. That's after gameplay reveal and beta, plenty of time to cancel the order.

Odd. When I went to pre-order Rise of Iron on PSN, I had to pay up front. Think it's a recent change to the system though.

I don't know man, either Xbox is different or different rules apply to a dlc than to a title release. Those are the only things I can think of

When I pre-ordered Mass Effect in February I had to pay up front as well. Didn't mind though, game was totally worth it.
