Get a job... Happy Easter, kids.

You Children without any liquid income are not the target demographic. The sooner you accept this the happier you will be. For "kids" that think that not preordering the game is going to somehow change the quality at release; you do understand that these games were already made years ago and that your purchase does not change them don't you? ●Good games like we had on NES, Sega, PS1 etc. were only complete games without DLC because the Internet had not yet become a viable media for the average consumer. ●It's not hidden. The whole point of DLC is to substitute for lack of subscription fees. Xbox and Playstation already charge you for using your own internet. Bungie needs income to maintain servers and make a profit. ●If it costs 20 million to make a game that means you need to net 60 million to cover the first game to fund it's servers and the next game to stay in business. ○Now you have a widely availibe online environment thanks in most part to the target demographic of working ages 25 to 40 with liquid income that allows Development to expand games from 25 gigabytes to well over 60 gigabytes. ○We in turn purchase these games and Internet subscriptions for you our children. We buy your PS Network, Xbox Live, and we buy products placed in ads on your home screen that allow you the privilege to call yourself a "Gamer." You act as though there should be some kind of limitation on profit for Bungie, etc. as if there would be any games at all without any profit. ☆ ○Trees will stop being planted when you stop using paper. ○Ask yourself this, "How can I be opposed to preordering while at the same time I buy books, newspapers, or go to the movies?" ●When you don't preorder because you think the game is being cut up like a Pizza you are actually asking for a game that did not have planned expansion and just because you knew some additional content had already been developed you assume that it was cut from the original.
Start at paragraph 3 and stop here.
You whine and moan about pay to win, but you gladly play all the content it funds.
You can get a good look at a T- bone by sticking your head up a bulls a**, but I'd rather take the butchers word for it.
I gladly threw my money at my screen because I am an adult. I pay taxes for my streets. I pay taxes to feed the homeless people who live in my streets. I pay people to pump the crap from my toilets under my house. I pay for the guy who collects my garbage. But heaven forbid the company that adds a bit of enjoyment to my life make any profit on my preorder! Put simply if we all stop pre-ordering games today those games would not go to launch and we would never get to play them at all. GET A JOB! 1500+ Edit Day 3: Are you one of those kids with your hair sticking out from under the front of your crooked "baseball" cap and tight skinny jeans somehow still bunched up in the back? You look like you pooped your pants after a good window licking session. Toejam & Earl edit: people are complaining because I'm editing this post I see this as a live thread. Editing my thread is how I am able to respond to everyone at the same time and borrow other people's good insights in which case I always give them credit inside their original post.

I agree with your post I myself am in the top 1 percent for hours played in PvP and PVE And I'm am one of the best players on my friends list when it comes to pvp I blindly pre-ordered D2 off the basis that I have played beta and vanilla and all the expansions longer than anybody well maybe not the guy who put in 10,000 hours but I've done it all And though I despise Activision and Bungies business practices I am a firm believer D2 will be hot. Now as to you rant about kids... I have 4 of them and they will only be able to call them selves gamers officially when the play the old consoles my brother saved from our youth Also to be called a gamer my kids will have to beat red and blue and yellow on an original and on a gameboy color. Anybody under 21 doesn't know shit about gaming and to complain about a top selling franchise is absurd Here's the skinny kids please stfu and learn your game history and them come see us in September I have since the age of 14 walked my ass faithfully ever so often to reserve or "Pre-Order" all my games at GameStop and Iam 34 and married And I have with out help of relatives or hand me downs owned every system ever made except virtual boy so I know my game history and even have breath of fire and dragon quest Japanese snes cartridges Discourse is key my friend you will have some pro to what you are saying and some negative detractors Or should I say haters mostly Schwetty talk with a lisp CoD quik schope faze Dick ride kids who only go on forums to troll And to all you hating ass kids learn a bit b4 you speak and if you have a problem with what I or this guy said Then you can cash me in private match "How bout dah"

Bungle knows when to stop, but -Blam!- Warframe, greedy pay to win losers. Why does know when ever complain about that game, enough with Destiny being called pay to win.

Would you put a deposit on a tv from just a picture of it with no info on the specs? Would you put a deposit on a car from a picture of it with no info on the specs? Only a fool buys blind, especially from these guy with a proven track record of hype half truths and misleading statements. Cinematic story they said... You can go over there... Sbmm isn't a thing... 000.4 nerf... We value you like your loot... With Roi we will add extra vault space... Being sceptical of these guys is warranted.

                    • Honestly, I fully support micro transactions and other things. They're little extras that give no sort of advantage in game other then enjoyment. I have no issue with DLC being planned before the game comes out, what does that say? It doesn't mean they cut from the game that's yet to come out, it means they're prepared and ready to give even more content after it comes out. The game is more or less finished maybe just needs to be polished so they start working on dlc for later so we don't run out of content by the time we beat the game. That's not cutting content, that's playing smart to feed our never ending hunger for content. I'm glad people like yourself actually understand that, I can't stand these forums usually. Only time I come on is to read lore posts because it passes the time and they're very interesting. By the way I read your whole post :). I have no issue paying for my own games, hell I bought my top end Alienware alpha, PS4, and Xbone, and now am close to buying my car. Sincerely, A sensible and logical teenager who has had a job since 14.

                    • I am all for microtransactions and even pay to win. That way someone else can pay to support the game and I can play extra content for free.

                      • You want to talk about cut content well here goes, a lot of shit went down at bungie before destinys release, stuff got cut, it gets cut from every game, and for a game like destiny I will gladly pay for that content when it is actually ready. Bungie made halo, I love halo, they are one of my favorite developers so I will gladly throw money at the screen to keep them developing games and keeping me entertained

I do have a job. I make delicious, organic smoothies for the good public alongside juices (vegetable/fruit juices) and Wheatgrass shots, which are just....delicious. All that, for $9.25 an hour. I'm not pre-ordering because I've learned my lesson with pre-ordering last year and some of this year. No Man's Sky, Mass Effect Andromeda, Amazing Spider-man 2 and other things. Destiny ended up not quite being what it should have been, and I'd rather not make the same mistake twice. I want to buy it, but I'll wait.

                        • a long winded post to justify your love for this game. OK.... you must be feeling guilty... I completely disagree. I think we should not preorder... then following your logic this farce of a game/developer would go away. I will not preorder.

                        • I'll be pre-ordering. For the amount of time I spent playing destiny and it's expansions since release, it's well worth it for me. The company has to make profit somehow, otherwise they'll stop making games.

                        •
You Children without any liquid income are not the target demographic. The sooner you accept this the happier you will be.
You are an idiot and you are wrong; Target demographics for video game industry is clear: 1) play at least 20 hour a week; 2) purchased at least 4 video-games in the last 6 months; I can provide source, but this belongs to a subscription payed database. Do you want a small screen capture?
For "kids" that think that not preordering the game is going to somehow change the quality at release; you do understand that these games were already made years ago and that your purchase does not change them don't you?
Don't really understand where you want to get at... Since you start with the perspective from the marketing point of view, would be nice if you engaged in the scope of neuro-marketing. I would probably jump into that discussion... But this is what I would consider a rant from you.
Good games like we had on NES, Sega, PS1 etc. were only complete games without DLC because the Internet had not yet become a viable media for the average consumer.
Really? I remember around 25 years ago downloading games from BBC's from a 9600 baud phone line. In fact most games traded at school in floppy's were obtained that way. The source was always a remote BBS. I wonder if you even know what I'm talking about... I also remember using a 7 minute gap to download images from orbital space station MIR... And a lot of other nice things... Still, in those days games had to be produced, carved into chips, bundled, distributed and booklets translated. Including monetary corrections, taxes, games were far more cheaper those days despite of a more expensive distribution chain compared to nowadays. Weird... Where you trying to get at?
It's not hidden. The whole point of DLC is to substitute for lack of subscription fees. Xbox and Playstation already charge you for using your own internet. Bungie needs income to maintain servers and make a profit.
Right... Bungie needs to maintain infra-structure! They do it poorly, I would describe it as rookie work considering my background with critical mission systems in telco. The quality of service provided by Bungie is very far from typical telco SLA's. You would be more accurate if you used a description like: Bungie (and most game studios and publishers) are capitalist sharks who are only concerned about getting people's money. This would be a better description.
If it costs 20 million to make a game that means you need to net 60 million to cover the first game to fund it's servers and the next game to stay in business.
Where did you got those numbers from? And which servers are you refering too? Because after the problems we've been seeing, I would probably assume they are renting a 3.99€ vm from OVH for API/Inventory server with limited bandwidth. Considering they introduced a serious problem in the base code of the game preventing people from joining other people in the same LAN and took nearly 9 months to solve it. Only thing I can see here is not a testament of quality or pro work, but instead of greed. I mean, probably H1B1's from India doing the real work and some american natives giving face.
Now you have a widely availibe online environment thanks in most part to the target demographic of working ages 25 to 40 with liquid income that allows Development to expand games from 25 gigabytes to well over 60 gigabytes.
Source, because it's wrong. I call to those, the sheep. Bungie is the big bad wolf...
You act as though there should be some kind of limitation on profit for Bungie, etc. as if there would be any games at all without any profit. ☆
There is a limitation, the number of sheep.
Trees will stop being planted when you stop using paper.
Bullshit... If no trees are planted you and everyone else would die from CO2 contamination.
Ask yourself this, "How can I be opposed to preordering while at the same time I buy books, newspapers, or go to the movies?"
Wrong... the real question is: 'would I ride this hype?'.
When you don't preorder because you think the game is being cut up like a Pizza you are actually asking for a game that did not have planned expansion and just because you knew some additional content had already been developed you assume that it was cut from the original.
I don't pre-order because I don't ride hypes. Like I said, no dedicated servers for matches (PvP), no interest. My money won't be missed I'm sure of that.
You whine and moan about pay to win, but you gladly play all the content it funds.
The only games I played all the content was World of Warcraft (until the Pandaria disaster), Witcher 3 and Final Fantasy VII for the PS1. The rest got me bored or uninterested very fat.
You can get a good look at a T- bone by sticking your head up a bulls a**, but I'd rather take the butchers word for it.
Who the -blam!- is T-Bone? Some ghetto culture figure?
I gladly threw my money at my screen because I am an adult. I pay taxes for my streets. I pay taxes to feed the homeless people who live in my streets. I pay people to pump the crap from my toilets under my house. I pay for the guy who collects my garbage.
Good for you. I thank you.... I live from your taxes and I don't work.... sorry!
But heaven forbid the company that adds a bit of enjoyment to my life make any profit on my preorder!
I'm so sorry for you... must be really a sad life :(
Put simply if we all stop pre-ordering games today those games would not go to launch and we would never get to play them at all.
Oh... afterall, you also belong to the sheep. »smile»
GET A JOB!
Gets me around 750K per year.
