Get a job... Happy Easter, kids.

You Children without any liquid income are not the target demographic. The sooner you accept this the happier you will be. For "kids" that think that not preordering the game is going to somehow change the quality at release; you do understand that these games were already made years ago and that your purchase does not change them don't you? ●Good games like we had on NES, Sega, PS1 etc. were only complete games without DLC because the Internet had not yet become a viable media for the average consumer. ●It's not hidden. The whole point of DLC is to substitute for lack of subscription fees. Xbox and Playstation already charge you for using your own internet. Bungie needs income to maintain servers and make a profit. ●If it costs 20 million to make a game that means you need to net 60 million to cover the first game to fund it's servers and the next game to stay in business. ○Now you have a widely availibe online environment thanks in most part to the target demographic of working ages 25 to 40 with liquid income that allows Development to expand games from 25 gigabytes to well over 60 gigabytes. ○We in turn purchase these games and Internet subscriptions for you our children. We buy your PS Network, Xbox Live, and we buy products placed in ads on your home screen that allow you the privilege to call yourself a "Gamer." You act as though there should be some kind of limitation on profit for Bungie, etc. as if there would be any games at all without any profit. ☆ ○Trees will stop being planted when you stop using paper. ○Ask yourself this, "How can I be opposed to preordering while at the same time I buy books, newspapers, or go to the movies?" ●When you don't preorder because you think the game is being cut up like a Pizza you are actually asking for a game that did not have planned expansion and just because you knew some additional content had already been developed you assume that it was cut from the original.
Start at paragraph 3 and stop here.
You whine and moan about pay to win, but you gladly play all the content it funds.
You can get a good look at a T- bone by sticking your head up a bulls a**, but I'd rather take the butchers word for it.
I gladly threw my money at my screen because I am an adult. I pay taxes for my streets. I pay taxes to feed the homeless people who live in my streets. I pay people to pump the crap from my toilets under my house. I pay for the guy who collects my garbage. But heaven forbid the company that adds a bit of enjoyment to my life make any profit on my preorder! Put simply if we all stop pre-ordering games today those games would not go to launch and we would never get to play them at all. GET A JOB! 1500+ Edit Day 3: Are you one of those kids with your hair sticking out from under the front of your crooked "baseball" cap and tight skinny jeans somehow still bunched up in the back? You look like you pooped your pants after a good window licking session. Toejam & Earl edit: people are complaining because I'm editing this post I see this as a live thread. Editing my thread is how I am able to respond to everyone at the same time and borrow other people's good insights in which case I always give them credit inside their original post.

  • Valid points all around. Gaming is an economy. The less money that flows through it, the less product that will be on the market. I am all for getting the best value for my gaming pleasure, but ultimately paying for the games I enjoy help keep them around.

Actually the games we had back then we're not really "finished" either. Take off the Rosey shades and you'll find a lot of those classic game have ass loads of bugs, glitches, cut areas and so much more. Only difference is they couldn't toss a 30mb update and add new content to it. Heck.. the first DLC I ever saw or purchased for a console was the Halo 2 Map pack and you had to go out and actually buy a physical disc for that sh*t too. Just about every game in syndication today's has a 2-3yr dev cycle unless they get to extend it for whatever reason. What we get is what the devs could do and polish on the day the publishers set as release day. Sometimes is pristine and sparkly and sometimes it is a fustercluck. I welcome that devs can bring more to a game via updates and dlc. Sure it sucks that some of the dlc is locked and the actual download to play it is just a line of code for $15... But hey, for all I know, that dlc could've been locked because it wasn't fully finished and could cause problems if they didn't block it off. Except Capcom. Stop locking finished on disc characters behind dlc. That's bad and makes me sad. lol
yeah, I preordered Destiny 2... And the Iron Gjallarhorn 1:1 replica.. got a big empty space on my wall for something sexy..:3
• I'm an adult with a job, and I think it's stupid to pay for something before you have any idea what you're buying. I'll probably preorder eventually, but waiting until actual information comes out is just good common sense.

He speaks the truth.👌 And in case some dont know this. It is tax season. Some may want to pre-order while they have the fund's. Some may want to pre-order so they dont have to worry about the game stores selling out on day 1. Some people are die hard fans and want the exclusive content. There are many reasons to pre-order, but its your choice to do so. Don't pre-order if you don't want to. Just stop being salty to those who do. Or just stop complaining altogether. Why are you even on here if you hate bungie so much?

I was with you until you mentioned pay to win. That shit is nonsense. I've bought every DLC Destiny has put out but I'll be damned if I pay for pay to win BS. "Oh I'll never get to the Lighthouse so I guess I'll just pay for a Flawless card. That'll show all my friends how great I am!" Yeah and while you're at it pay someone to set your house on fire while you're inside it. Edit: And for the record I preordered a limited edition copy of Destiny 2 the day they dropped the teaser trailer.

I get most of your points and agree with them. Except I still don't see how getting a job has anything to do with pre-ordering vs buying the game day 1. I mean that is the other option for you, correct? Nor does this have anything to do with children...you just sound mad that other people are telling you not to pre-order. You should just not listen to them, whether they are children or not. They're opinions should be irrelevant to you when purchasing a video game. Talk about whining and complaining. Listen to yourself man. Lol

                  • 36yr old engineer here. How old are you? See, when i see someone type "let the hate flow through you" it SOUNDS like a teenager. Don't take it as a knock on you, lol, by NO means. I'd love to be young again. More power to you. I was on my own when i was 17 so i know you can be paying taxes for you streets and for homeless people(??) and all the other stuff at a young age. Fwiw, i paid 25,900 in taxes in 2016. I feel your pain on the taxes. That's just my end, not including what my wife paid in. But i'm curious how old you are. have a good day(at work, i would surely assume)

I would say, don't preorder Destiny 2 until we see the gameplay. I remember when some D2 info got leaked and it said, D2 will come to PC, progress will not carry over, and It will seem like a completely different game. 2 of the 3 is right so far. I can get behind the argument "I liked the first game so i have faith in the second" but what if you preorder and you end up with "Call of Destiny and the lack of PvE content". I'm not saying "Don't preorder" I'm just saying be smart with your money and wait until we see gameplay. It makes no difference to preorder now and the second after the gameplay reveal.

Tl;dr pre orders are important for developers since they need to meet a quota for publishers, a decrease in pre orders is noticed and something to fear. But let me talk down to you, pre orders mean everything to a company, how many pre order they get when announced helps them calculate their profit. Now, let's say 1.5 million pre ordered. That's a good number for a game that has no gameplay trailer, people just blind bought a game based on the original. It's livestream day, the developers show case what they've been working on. Now this is a very important day, because from my point of view they told us we are leaving are stuff behind because of a new game engine, and most likely a huge rework of weapons and armor, etc. If I see barely a smidgen of change, I'm not pre ordering. Say the 1.5 million dropped to 900,000. That's a lot of money lost, that's a consumer base lost. You have less people investing in your game for the next three years, to a smart company, they pay attention, they notice. If a game reveal is bad developers will know it by a decrease in pre orders, when game reveals should increase because they are buyers who want to see the product before they make a purchase. So if you didn't get the hesitant buyers, and lost a sold person? You're messing up already, that's why pre orders matter, a company knows how much money they'll make by the numbers, and some companies have a quota for games, and I doubt Activision expects no less than a million. Because if they notice the games not doing good currently, they most likely won't give it a chance to improve and just cut the funds. Edit: see Activision/Bungie doesn't care if the game lost players in year 3, they've gotten their money. But not getting their money for a brand new title is something else, they need your money. Money is the most powerful thing in the world, use it wisely.
