I don't think they miss the grind, I think they miss feeling like special Snowflakes. If certain gear is hard to get that means fewer people will have it, which means that the people who do have it get to feel special. People complained about the grind, so Bungie lessened it, so now everyone has everything and nobody gets to be special anymore. That's the real issue here. The only people who still get to be snowflakes are the handful of trials tryhards, they get to feel special, and we've seen how they act because of it lol
