I think Destiny is better now. More variety. Every single person was rocking the same raid weapons and armour. Once you take away elemental primaries, basically any weapon is a viable alternative.

The percentage of players that have completed a single raid to date is still surprisingly low. I doubt EVERYONE was rocking fatebringers.

Sure, everyone ran a hung jury during year 2, that's not variety. The reason everyone ran vog weapons because they were the beasts among the rest and that's the way it should be since they are end game weapons.

EVERYONE ran Hung Jury? I saw more variety in TTK than in all expansions through Y1. And that's just weapons, what about armor? Besides VoG/Crota/HoW armor the only way to hit max light was IB which took 5 times as long to level up than how it is now? Every raid that came out, people only wore that armor. Or used those weapons. Now your vendor roll Hawksaw is just as viable as any raid weapon.
