The difference is the effort it takes to get a new group. People are less likely to quit a group that they spent 20 minutes looking for and would have to spend another 20 minutes looking again, than if they can spend 2 minutes getting one and quitting out because they know it only takes another 2 minutes and zero effort whatsoever to get the next one.
Seriously how can you not understand that? I'm guessing you've quit quite a few raids
