Most people already had everything they needed from VoG and Crota. We ran them for funsies and a couple average guns to have as show pieces (Timepiece, Foil, and Vex), and a chance at the exotic boxes. The Crucible ruled by HCs - Thorn, Hawkmoon, and TLW. Terrible drop rates for Raids. Nightfall rewards were just as bad. Strikes which you really only for that 1 legendary engram every 5-7 strikes. Shank Burn [b][i]Had [/i][/b]to run bounties to level up gear. The most droll activity ever in the history of Destiny. No Gally = No Raid An app which lost your gear too often. There was too much you [b][i]had[/i][/b] to do (and in certain order for maximum benefit). Now, you can do whatever, whenever and it's all relevant, especially now that they've brought the old raids forward. Your blinded by nostalgia. It was hardcore grinders wet dream, but people were still leaving in droves. IIRC, 2/3 of the playerbase was gone by TDB because of the overly grindy, repetitive gameplay. Granted, they're a little too generous these days with loot, but somewhere in between would probably make most happy. Basically all you want is what you're getting in a couple days - all raids relevant with good loot. The only thing missing is an enjoyable Crucible experience.
