"No, there ain't no devil.. Gon' be where we go.. Gon' wash in the water, 'n save all our souls... Take all the children, where flood water's rollin'.. Ain't no devil.. Gon' be where we go..." Andrea Wasse, "Ain't No Devil" The Dojo, Tatakai Courtyard A1 6:30 PM
Alright, some ground rules for this post. If you do plan on combating the two characters below, I will kindly ask that you do it with a non-magical, melee-focused or medieval-styled character of your own. This post is intended for those types of characters - some good ol' classic melee battles. This doesn't have to be a battle to the death, but if you wish? Place it in a spoiler saying that you're fine with the possibility of death. As always, enjoy.
The dark orange skies of Tatakai began to turn an even darker color than beforehand, as the sun which the planet orbited around began to set slowly, as the moon began to rise from the side of the planet. As the evening began to slowly end, the sound of steel clashing against steel sounded from one of the Dojo's many courtyards, the walls of the place of training being slowly rebuilt and restored. The rather brutal session of training was being completed by two rather different figurines - both of them battling each other to the death, with a deadly amount of skill and prowess within each as they fought. The first of the two was a giant of a man, at a height of exactly six feet and six inches tall. His highly muscular body was hidden away by a set of steel plate armor, while dull yellow fabric hung from his waist and shoulder plate. Upon the shoulder, a white symbol rested - a double-headed eagle, both mouths opened wide as if it was roaring in a never-ending hunger for violence. The warrior's thick steel helmet covered his face and head entirely, the metallic visor lowered over his face in order to protect him entirely. The second of the two duelists was the polar opposite - it was a lightly armored female, from the looks of it. She stood at a height of five feet and eight inches tall, which was certainly short compared to the giant that she was combating. She was lacking in muscular mass and appearance, although her swift and elegant movements suggested that she was highly athletic and active in her training. A dark grey set of leather armor covered her body, as light metallic plates of steel covered her forearms and kneecaps, while a tattered black hood hid away her facial appearance. And even yet, a steel helmet covered her head underneath the hood, two faint eye sockets implemented within it to provide vision. The giant knight was currently wielding a massive oak and steel halberd within his armored hands, the blade of the weapon sharpened to the maximum and intended for slashing through armor and flesh with remarkable ease. About half of the weapon looked as it was screwed onto the stick, suggesting that there was some other object that he used for a weapon. Strapped to his waist tightly was a cross dagger, the steel weapon held within a leather sheath and remaining still for the time-being. In the warrior's case, it was probably for back-up purposes, in CQC or if he was disarmed by some rare chance. The woman, on the other hand, held a three-foot long longsword within her right hand and a fourteen inch long dagger in her left, both blades sharpened and more than capable of ripping through flesh. Throwing knives were strapped to her chest, as if utilized as secondaries or as a source of ranged weaponry. Each knife was sharpened to the maximum, intended for piercing flesh and extremely light armor with ease. The two then suddenly charged towards each other, as the knight swung his halberd with a roar escaping his mouth, as the weapon's blade flew towards the woman's ankle. She raised her foot as she sprinted, stomping upon the blade and raising her other knee to slam it into the man's armored chin. It succeeded, as he was sent back for a moment. Feeling lucky, the woman charged to drive her two blades into his armor, except for the fact that she ignored his sudden recovery. He lifted his halberd up once more, slamming the stick into her waist and sending her slamming into the concrete wall within the training grounds. An "Oof!" escaped the woman's lips, as she crashed into the wall and narrowing slid to her right, as the giant shoulder-charged straight into the concrete and yelled. As both recovered and proceeded to circle each other once more, the knight sighed, and spoke up for a little bit: "...You are aware of how unfair this battle is, yes?" He spoke up, lowering his halberd for a moment as the woman in front of him chuckled. She shrugged, before she responded. "Because you can't catch me? Yeah, I guess. You know what we really need?" She questioned, as she sheathed the two blades that she held within her hands tightly. The knight was the one who chuckled this time, speaking to her. "...Competition." ((Open!))

  •
I accept death.
A man/woman stepped forth, wearing a purple trenchcoat and a yellow and green undersuit. Their face was coated in white warpaint and a red outlining of their mouth, giving them the appearance of a clown. A demented clown, at that. They held a Kremvh's tooth in their right hand. They didn't get into a stance, and instead just waited for an attack. He/she just grinned at the figures, their right eye twitching as they grinned.
You'll win indefinitely.
"...Let us begin." The giant of a knight muttered quietly, as he whispered a silent prayer before grasping his halberd tightly. He aimed the tip of the weapon towards their challenger, as he began to approach. On the other hand, the woman only drew her dagger with her left and longsword with her right, twirling each bladed weapon as she proceeded to come closer and closer. It was a gank - a 2v1, something that the twins specialized in.

  • The man/woman's figure was very thin, and appeared weak. They sheathed their weapon for a second, and gripped their knuckle from their left hand, and then ripped it off, blood spilling to the ground. They muttered a few archaic phrases and a blue flame completely shrouded them. Their ears grew and became point, their canines grew to fangs, a tail protruded from their rear and flaming horns stuck out of either side of their head. They drew their weapon, dashing forth. They slashed outwards at the woman with remarkable velocity.

  • Alpha was watching, only dressed in a T-shirt and Jeans. She wasn't here for a fight, just watching.

The larger, male knight only waved to Alpha, as his compatriot began to remove her weaponry and stretch. "Hello, fellow Dojo member! What brings thee to our training session?"

  • "....spectating. Dojo member is a stretch, everyone else wants to kill me. Apparently having fur is a crime" She chuckled lightly at the end

  • Snow smiled as she watched them train from across the courtyard, sitting on a wooden bench with her hand on her swollen stomach, happy to see SOMEONE was actually using the place how it was meant to be used. She was impressed, to say the least, admiring their skill and tenacity. She waved to them as they stopped, as she assumed they were taking a break.

In response, the knight immediately waved back, as the female of the two began to sheath her weaponry and stretch for a minute. "Hello, bystander! What brings you to our training session, may I ask?" The knight boomed, removing his helmet with one hand as his other clasped his halberd. It revealed a young man, yet one with a somewhat thick beard and a joyous smile. Seemed like a nice guy.

  • She smiled back at him, trying to think of a response. "Well, i've been sitting here for a while. When you two came around I decided to watch. You're very excellent fighters, and I'm glad someone's finally actually training here again."

"Us? Excellent? I didn't know that was excellent, but...thank you anyway!" The knight seemed embarrassed, as his compatriot removed her own helmet. "Don't mind him, we're just not used to compliments at all." She smiled. "I'm Octavia. He's Olythran - my twin brother. And you are, if I may ask?"

  • "My name is Snow, its nice to meet you." she said. The bench she sat on was roughly seven meters from them, so its a mystery as to why they didnt see her before.

  • "I've been here a few months, so I'm not really an old member. I came here because it was the safest place at the time. Now? Well, not so safe anymore.." she said, sighing as her left hand instinctively rested on her swollen belly.

  • A low chuckle was heard as Dmitri appeared out of the shadows. "Well, what do we have here?" Ian jumped down from a building. "Well?" They looked at each other, then nodded. "We'll fight you."

"Very well. And your weapons?" The giant knight questioned, holding his halberd low. The woman silently stared at Ian, her expression hidden away by the helm that she wore underneath the tattered hood.

  • Ian simply stared back. "You'll just have to find out, won't you?" Dmitri fired a Cero at the knight while Ian drew his longsword and dashed towards the woman.
Do you not know how to read a spoiler? Whatever. Bullshit engaged.
The knight measly dodged the "Cero" (Seriously, who came up with that name...), as the woman only beckoned Dmitri forth casually. "Magician filth.."

  •
Tite Kubo did, it means "zero". It's Spanish.
"Excuse me...?" Ian stopped. "Filth? Are you just mad because you can't use magic?" He shook his head, then charged at the knight. Dmitri got into a defensive position with his sword and slowly crept towards the woman.

"Mad? No. Irritated about a coward who relies on magic? Perhaps." The knight chuckled, relying on Ian's sprinting to his advantage as he began to slowly approach, clutching his halberd tightly. The woman drew both her longsword and dagger, as she quickly descended upon Dmitri. She swung to his left shoulder with the sword, her hand with the dagger immediately spiraling towards his stomach. He'd have to allow himself to be wounded somewhere.

  • Dmitri dodged the attack to his shoulder, but the dagger bit into his side. As his sword hand was right in front of Octavia's face, he slammed the pommel into her nose. Ian stopped, knowing that the knight had a greater range than he did. "Well? Come and get me."

The attack that Dmitri performed worked, although Octavia tore out the dagger in such a violent way in order to increase the damage dealt. She backed away, chuckling before circling Dmitri calmly. "Ahuh." Olythran laughed, turning towards Dmitri and aiming his halberd right at the man. He began a slow charge, predicting that Ian would follow.

  • Dmitri fell to one knee. "Ow..." Ian, however, jumped above the knight to bring his sword down on his head. Dmitri stood and faced Octavia. "That's a nice little dagger you've got there." He lunged forward at slashed at her legs.

Olythran was still moving, so it didn't hit him in the head. It did strike Olythran in the shoulder blade, while the sword slowly sunk into his armor. However, it began to bend as it didn't pierce it all the way - it would take more than a long sword to pierce the knight's armor, as he slammed his elbow into Ian's chin. As for Octavia, she swung suddenly towards Dmitri's sword with both blades, knocking him off balance before raising her sword upwards and slashing downwards.

  • Ian was knocked back onto the ground with his sword still stuck in Olythran's armor. "Holy shit." Dmitri stumbled slightly and had to step out the way of the strike lest he be cut in half. "You're good... What's your name?"

Instead of breaking the sword, Olythran tore it out of his armor and studied it for a little bit, before tossing it back to Ian and gripping his halberd once more, preparing a charge. "Not the best time to chit-chat, sweetheart." Octavia smiled underneath her helmet, slashing towards Dmitri's chest twice as she kept her dagger at her side.
