My theory about Destiny 2's plot

Now, my theory about Destiny 2's plot is quite extensive, so I will try to summarize it as best as I can. My theory is very large, so I will put it in the form of the main game and several DLC's, for easy reading and understanding. The DLC structure will be similar to Destiny 1's, with two small DLC's and then a large one. Main Game: Cabal/Hive I believe that the Cabal will be one of the main enemies in the base game (Surprise!). I believe this because of the Outbound Signal mission, where we learn that the Cabal sent a message to the Emperor, informing him that there are no more high ranking Cabal leaders in the system. It is believed that the Cabal Emperor will send a huge amount of reinforcements, resulting in a guardian-Cabal war. I do not believe the Emperor himself will come though, as it is still relatively early in Bungie's 10-year plan. This theory is relatively well known, but here is where my personal speculation comes in. I believe that our Cabal-guardian war will cause Xivu Arath, or at least his court, will show up. In the Books of Sorrow, it is said that Xivu Arath's court is wherever there is war. I believe that if we have a war on the scale of what I'm predicting, it will be large enough to cause Xivu Arath's court, if not himself, to come. Now, I do not believe we will be able to completely eradicate the Cabal and Hive from our system, as we would be dealing with a huge Cabal army and a Hive force as large (if not larger) that Oryx's was, as Xivu Arath did choose the knight morph. This would also make sense for future DLC's, as we cannot win an entire war in just one base game. DLC #1: Vex As we know, the Cabal and Vex are closely intertwined. I believe that with this big of a Cabal force arriving, the Vex would send a force to investigate as well. It would not be that big, as this is a $20 DLC. DLC #2: Taken There are many Taken we have not killed, as shown in the patrol missions with Taken still spawning, and the Malok storyline. I believe that one of Oryx's generals would try and fill the power void and become the Taken King. My guess as to who would be either Xivu Arath, of the Raven Queen. As illustrated in the Books of Sorrow, the Raven Queen is an immensely powerful Taken general, who we have yet to encounter. The Raven Queen would gather the largest Taken force seen sense Oryx, but still way less in number that the original Taken force. After this DLC, Taken would stop appearing anywhere except in strikes. This would be the end of the Taken arc. DLC #3: Fallen While the guardians were away dealing with the Cabal, Vex and Hive, I believe that the fallen, namely the House of Kings, would form and attack force and attempt to destroy the city. However, instead of losing to us, the guardians, I believe that with their strength that they have gathered over their years in hiding, and with most guardians away from the city, the House of Kings would win. This would be the end of the storyline, leading into Destiny 3. The missions leading up to this ending would be the discovery of the attack force, and trying to delay it as much as possible before their inevitable attack. The campaign would only span a few hour in-game, as most guardians have to be away from the last city. An example of what this would look like would be order 66 in Star Wars, without the whole "clone troopers killing Jedi" thing. A lot of Jedi were away on missions during order 66, making the destruction of their order so much easier. After completing the main campaign, the Tower would no longer be available as a social space. Instead, you would have to go to villages on Earth and many other planets to do you everyday things, kind of like how Skyrim is set up with the cities and shops. The Crucible would still exist, but it would not be as prominent as it is now. The lore-wise explanation being the war and city being destroyed. The real-life explanation being weekly live events taking place. More Details/Raids Every week, their would be certain live events, whether it be sieging an enemy stronghold, defending a point, etc. These would be multiplayer activities that would reset weekly. The Crucible will still be available, but not as prominent as it is now. Iron Banner would be replaced by Trials of Osiris, which stays active all week, however, the lighthouse is still only available Friday through Monday. This would enable people to practice Trials on the map that it is with their Trials teams and no matchmaking. Each planet and the Dreadnaught would have a Skyrim style map with cities/outposts scattered around and waiting for discovery. Each patrol zone would be the size of all current patrol zones combined, and be open world areas. There would be two raids in the main game, one in each small DLC and none in the big DLC. More details below: Raid 1-Base Game: Eliminate a Psion Reaper. Psion Reapers have the power to pull planets out of their orbit, and crush them with their mind. This would take place on a moon of Saturn, and would cover almost the entire moon. We have to locate and eliminate the Psion Reaper, who is stationed on the moon. The only way to kill him is to get him to pull the moon into the Sun, which he does, ending with is demise. Raid 2-Base Game: Stop a Cabal force from taking the Hellmouth. We have received intel that Valus Trie'em plans to invade and control the Hellmouth, using it as a base to move in and take the tower. This raid would be different, as we are defending a place from an invasion force. How this works is that the six guardians spawn in different areas of the Hellmouth, and are assigned a perimeter they have to defend. Every now and then, a miniboss would spawn in a wave of adds, and the player must defeat him alone. If three players lose control of their zone at one time, you have to wipe and start where you were 7 minutes ago. There will be a 45 minute timer on your screen, and you must hold all zones until the timer ends. When the timer ends, Valus Trie'em spawns and you must kill him in 15 minutes or less. Raid 3-DLC 1 A Vex Restorative Mind has reawakened Atheon in the Vault of Glass. This is not a re-leveled Vault of Glass, however. Instead of the confluxes, oracles, Templar, Gorgons and Gatekeeper, Atheon takes four out of every Vex ultra we have ever faced, pulls them through time, power-scales them and puts them in the Vault of Glass. The bosses selected for you are completely random, and the only sure thing is that Atheon will be at the end. Raid 4-DLC 2 Kill the Raven Queen in Oryx's Throne World on the dreadnaught. To enter this raid, you must use and defeat an Antiquated Rune in the Court of Oryx. The portal will stay open and you will pass through as an Ascendent Hive. The raid map is the same as King's fall, except there are assorted bosses where the King's Fall bosses were, and at the end, the Raven Queen summons every Taken that still lives. There will be a lot of variety in these ads, as they are every species Oryx ever took. Once every ad is killed, you must kill the Raven Queen, as she is the last remaining Taken. There are no raids in DLC 3 because of how close that is to Destiny 3. We want a full and satisfying campaign in D3, so we want to keep as many Fallen as possible alive to kill later. I also believe that we are not in a position to attack the Fallen, as they have full control of the city and it's resources. End-game loot is scavenged from Earth and the other war-torn planets of our system instead of earned. That was my theory of what Destiny 2 and it's DLC's will be about. Please leave any suggestions and tell me if I made any mistakes in the comments. Just please use logic and sources to support your argument, don't just say "Ur wrong Im right checkm8 the Travelr was made by Caballz"

 • While it seems pretty clear that cabal are going to initially be the focus, if the WHOLE arc of destiny 2 is based off of recycled D1 content, that would be....unfortunate
