    I wanted to wait to get the patch notes and actually play before commenting. 1. Bumpitty. 2. Thoughts Nerf hammer swings again. A few things to like in this patch, lots to not like. However, I did play some crucible last night. Here is my take away so far. [b]Handcannons are back baby!!!!![/b] Thank the traveler. Holy shit, after an eternity of these guns being completely unreliable, and using them anyway, now bullets go where I shoot. Uh... -blam!- yes! I am dominating with my favorite guns again. Dug out my Devil You Know and completely rekt every former shotgun warrior that attempted to charge me. If you see me, keep your distance, it's the only way you'll live now. [b]Special Ammo nerf[/b] I've really enjoyed this change. I know there are gonna be some haters, but this is kinda nice. I didn't see a single matador/party crasher/ sniper... anything. I was locked in primary gun battles for the most part, considering I'm at 45-46% primary kills on all of my characters.... this is good for me. Another thing this did was really elevate sidearms. They are quite beneficial to equip and use now. I am certain they will see much more play. I also believe that this will drastically change trials for the better, and I'm actually... you might want to sit down.... actually eager to try it this weekend. [b]The bad?[/b] Truth nerf? Why people? So dumb. [u]I'll sum up Cozmo's post here[/u] [quote]We pushed a broken patch, have fun[/quote] What a joke. The hungering blade change broke every health regen perk in the entire game. Destiny must be a giant -blam!-ing mess when you are actually looking at the code. I have no clue why the devs would know the patch is bugged and push it anyway. I think this clearly shows that they are phoning it in. I work in IT and that wouldn't fly where I work. They said they didn't want to nerf shotguns into non-existence, then proceed to nerf shotguns into non-existence. Then universal remote got it's own special nerf on top of that. Which was out of line. All quickdraw perks received a nerf, for no reason. I've said it once and I'll say it again. If they have to keep mucking around with special weapons, special weapons probably aren't the problem, but the symptom of weak primaries.

    This is probably one of the worst patches I've seen in regards to community requested goals vs. Bungie hitting the mark. Made another great exotic (Truth) next to worthless. 1 -blam!-ing round? Out-blam!-ingrageous. Complete bullshit. A Few buffs, a shit ton of nerfs. WTF is wrong with you guys? How about you TRY to move things in the possitive direction, just -blam!-ing once? I haven't been in on in a couple of weeks due to work and personal, this sure isn't making me wax romantic about missing out. I'm not gonna shit her and say I'm not playing, I enjoy hanging out with folks I've met here too much. But this is still disappointing to a big degree.

      We all know the gasp was going to get nerf. Especially how cause modded controllers being able to fire it like a dot. What surprised me the most was no nerf to fusion grenades, so those are still going to be used above all the other grenades. The hand cannon one has me worried, cause now we might see snipe body shots and when one tap with a hand cannon from the same distance. Does kind of piss me off, sniper in my view still needs a scope time nerf and a sway nerf put in. If your going to make shot guns a stand and deliver gun you might as well make sniper and camp and deliver gun too I mean it's unfair that they can move like that while in scope and no penalty even when going up and down stairs. Although I like that idea redwing. I think they could of done it a better way rather than just changing the whole game every 6 months. Like perhaps giving us a bounty where we if to get 100 pulse rife kills, 50 sidearm kills, and 25 sleeper slimitant kills in a week would probably be change enough. They act like they want balance and they try to achieve it, when why do they go and throw it out the window after 6 months? makes no sense to me but hey perhaps it makes sense to them. personally I been noticing stats don't make a difference. Even if you have perks to increase the range on your pulse rife or the stability on your auto rife it does not make that much of a difference, and it should I mean what the point of having stats if the gun is still as easy to control with out them or still has the same drop off without them. Take pulse rife for instance you can have 1 cm of range still has the same drop off as one with 3 cm of range, now that just tells me that there something that is wrong and needs fixing. Why would you go out and grind for a better one if that one is just as good as any other? it makes it pointless in a game which wants you to go out and grind every week, cause that's why they took out reforge. although this does allow me to use any handcannon I want and not if to worry about ghost bullets, just cause I only have 1 cm of range on my gun and not 3. which again make no sense before we had a reason to grind for ensluna with rifed barrel, now we don't if to care about that and it just makes no sense. To go and throw that reason to grind out the window you might as well just bring back reforge. The new one where death means you lose your speaical, seems kind of hard cause their will be no more self res shotgun and seems like a penalty to people who get killed a lot. I'm just going to go around fusion grenade everyone instead of shotguning, them just get 70 kills in a match using fusion grenades that next target for me. In my view they have not thought this out and what they should of done is lower the cap in pvp, to 6 bullets only and once you come across a box it only gives you 2 in pvp. this might of stopped people constantly going around with special. but doing this is unfair to all those people who die cause now we won't be able to take down supers, it makes it harder. we will see a lot of people using icebreaker and ineffective just cause of this. it's a shame that they choose to do this and not being out a 200 kills with primary bountie just to get a lengendry each day which is what I would of done in the first place. It's funny that they nerf blade dancer like that yet leave storm caller armour the same. there has been times when I've thrown everything including two stickies at them and there still alive and yet they choose to nerf blade dancer, cuase of this one guy. even though they if to be close to use if not 40 foot away like storm callers. good to know I can still go on a game changing 8 kill streak with my stormcaller but not able to do that on anything else. One thing I love about the posts this week is the get the top 1 % to give you help on the patch. they would do it better than them. bungie would never do that cause that is admitting that just cause their the top 1 % they are better than making a patch, than the people who have been making patches. bungie would never pay people to make a patch who do not work for them, it would be like asking dice to make a patch for them. Plus their all ego people the top 1 %. They would make a game better for them they would probably unnerf sniper, make scope time less, allowing one shot kill on all snipers and that would totally mess it or for the casual players. at the end of the day bungie would rather lose a 1% players than risk losing all the rest just cause the game is not for them any more. I totally agree with you on that about people who say these people who did the patch can't play. Although halo 5 maybe consider the best pvp I agree it's like comparing Apple to oranges, plus we have all this great stuff. They choose to achieve balance thats where I have this thing about balence in the subclasses. why brother trying to achieve balence when there is no such thing as balence in life? Life is unfair to some so why should a game be fair? take dark souls for example, they don't care that 65% of people don't have the skill to play their game. they don't care that only 25% in the world have the skill to compete their game and they are loved for it. all this balence between the subclass for pvp I say throw it out the window. now balence for grenades and guns I say keep on messing with it we need balence in them. The sunbreaker needed to be nerfed, you could throw rockets into it and he would still be alive, you could throw nova bombs at it and he would survive it. now what they should of done was instead of kills giving 100% of your health back and allowing it to fill the health bar meter to say that's 100%, was wrong way of putting it in. What they should of done is, each kill gives you 250 health back out of your 500 health total. so that if the game glitches you don't continue to regain health, which is the problem with Ampuichewed on striker Titan when you regain your health when you melee kill someone. so changing bladedancer so it works like that I can see a point but not changing ampututie as well, I don't see the point so both should be change or not change at all, plus hunter's have always been at a disadvantage cause no heavy ammo on exotic chest plates. I do agree that when too came out the whole form changed for the worst and these last two years there's been a dourght of stuff to do between January and April which should never of happened they needed to keep people playing hopefully d2 sorts that out. I agree, what is so hard about updating the light level behind these raids?but redwing has told me why they didn't brother before was cause they want people to do the latest raid. It is a shame that only 25% of the people who own roi have done the raid the hardest thing I use to have with vog was taking down the ocales and using the relic. cause only like 2 knew how to use the relic and it would never teleport those people, so we would if to wipe again and I kind of miss that plus vog on PS4 looks awesome. My most bad arss moment, was doing flawless raid on crota. I already have it, but my clan mates needed the trophy. they were like well no one can do the lamps, I said I can do the lamps easy, I'm worry about the bridge. they when asked me how, I said I got a new thing which I haven't tried. I'm going to do it on sunbreaker Titan with Mida, they like nah do in blade dancer and I never done it. They said no way use bladedancer, nope I'm doing it sun breaker and I did it, long my clan were saying stuff like he's not going to it, we will hear a guardian down soon . they didn't hear it, we when did the bridge legit and when I took the sword. Again they said no way you can't sword on Titan. I said have done before and I'll do it again although this took a few tries of me not being greedy,I did on the third try. even though each time I needed to run the lamps again solo I did it each time without dieing and when I took down cotra. I felt bad arss and hearing there playstation thropy achieve through the mic was great and I did it on Titan. But last iron banner I did a game changing 8 kill streak on storm caller where I supered and cause I killed everyone we won the match also felt great. Favourite moment of the week, a raid run where aksis glitched and did a slam in front mid. just after the damage step killing two people and competely ruined our raid attemp.t so thanks bungie for that reusing a spider tank for aksis was a bad idea cause he still has moves.

            • Another point: the developer reasoning for Bladedancer nerf (hungering blade) was never intended to be the entire reason; it was only an anecdote. I think that was misrepresented all week.

              My favorite badass moment: When me and one other friend ran the entirety of the crota raid, on hard mode, and before we even realized it got the flawless raider trophy. This was back before the whole change to the leveling and light systems. We went into a shocked daze of 'holy shiat, did we really just do that?'

                  Just a few thoughts. I think this patch will bring the most balance to primaries we have ever seen. They didn't anounced any game changing buffs or nerfs. Sols you know I'm a fan of this special change. I know I didn't work the first time around but everyone was exploiting and switching to another special after death or between rounds. Ice Breaker doesn't refer ammo fast enough to make a big difference and invective uses a lot of ammo to be effective. NLB takes a lot of skill but the players that are skilled with it will shine. Universal Remote shouldn't be such an issue because of nerfs. Hand Cannons, I can see hand cannons being really good but people will need to use them in there intended range. That first shot accuracy may be crippling especially if someone hits you with luck in the chamber. Hand Cannons will be potent but still require a lot of skill and patience, i think this is how they are intended to work. Autos, is shadow price back? I think it will be. I can't recall which guest said it but people gravitate toward the easiest best guns to use. That is why we saw so many clever dragons. Side arms start with ammo but it's not much after respawn they shouldn't be an issue. I think fusion users will feel the special hit the most, we have no ammo regerating fusion rifles, vex has been left behind. But we are used to it by now, I'll still be rocking my plan c and 77 wizard. Overall I am real happy with this patch on paper but we will have to see how it pays out in a month. The first week after a balance update is always a blast. Last thing, I've seen a lot of post asking for Bungie to let streamers influence patches, this can never happen. Streamers have there own agendas and have had to much influence already. Actually one more, cutting on the devs for how they were playing was absolutely rediculous, nobody seems to recall that games are designed on mouse and keyboard and those devs would probably destroy most console players if you gave them their tools. It was a good listen. Look forward to the next one.

                  • Shotguns didn't need that nerf at all. Buff Fusion rifles accuracy should've been mention. Also I wanted fusion rifle to have an increase in firing rate as well.

                      • Loved the Patrol bit of the Podcast, I myself currently have the most hours spent in Patrol and I remember during Y1 I just loved to go out into patrol and farm mats, farm loot caves, do daily bounties and Public Events. Now the goddamn Taken ruin any fun I have in Patrol because all the enemies I'm farming disappear. Sure farming mats was a pain but It gave us something to do back then and all Bungie needed to do was have more drop from chests and stuff and have green engrams drop mats. I used to use them to get Crucible Rep but they got rid of that sadly.

                        • A meta rotation should always welcome a new batch of vendor weapons, it gives more incentive for players to chase and use something new. I think the special change goes hand in hand with making a reason to play the nightfall again (hence no change to the droprate to icebreaker) really have a think about that for a minute. How many people are going to chase that weapon even more now, playability factor enhanced! The ammo change is also a major factor to making sidearms viable without making them op, they are in a great place but have to many other viable one shot options. Hand cannons will never die off, especially in the sweats scene. 2-3 tap weapons that are easy when. Quickly navigating Good job on the post guys!

                          • Weve all agreed in a past cast that limiting will only create snowballing. The special ammo change will cause no different. When it comes to the nerfs i strongly disagree with redwings statment on being forced to use something else. That is not even close to what balance is. There are too many dedicated pvp players with different playstyles for one thing to be viable at a time. If you really wanted to use other things other things should just be more viable

                              I finished listening to this. I appreciate you guys doing this. Your podcasts give great insight on whats up with Destiny and I enjoy listening to you guys talking about the game. I think that this has been the best episide of the truthcast so far.
