This series will take place in the time of the House of Wolves. The House of Scar is a small house led by the kell, Vesrik, which he is rebuilding with his crew. This story will be as lore-accurate as possible.

This was a grand moment for a pirate. Not many people get the privilege of having a map of the entire asteroid belt, with the exception of the Queen, the Reef Mob, and the Verge. Now it is in the hands of us, the House of Scar. I hold Vesrik with great respect, being able to retrieve a map from the Robber of Vesta, Captain Charlie in a solo mission.
The Scarred Kell uses deception to swindle and rob even the richest pirates. He has to if he wishes to survive, though. The Eliksni aboard this ship live on about twenty two servitors. There are a little over one hundred Eliksni aboard. This map was highly necessary for what we need to do.
Vesrik approached the table with the other two senior officers by his side: Zatkis and Valerie. Zatkis was Vesrik's nephew, and the son of the notorious mercenary, Taniks, the Scarred. Taniks is the kells' brother, and a very well known sociopath throughout the system. Zatkis has been mentally scarred, clearly, and had to watch Taniks perform the most brutal torture.
Valerie is a Vesta-born Awoken woman, with a brutal reputation throughout the Reef. She worked as a slave for the House of Winter, forced to perform heists upon human enclaves and attack Reef settlements. She is known for brutal interrogative methods; pretty, but hard to manage.
I, Dennis Rager? Just trying to make a living in the Reef with this loser crew, me being the biggest of them all. Just fulfilling my passion, looking at purple skies.
"Alright, scum. Ready to see what this map has to offer? I'd say we would be able to raid press the Vestian Web with this!" Valerie gave me a condescending look.
"If you think we could even attempt the borders, then you are about as crazy as, well, you." She really disapproves of all of my ideas.
"What? They're too busy with the freaking Wolves! Why wouldn't we rob some of their outposts, right Zatkis?" Even though he's my good friend, he found my ideas a bit of a stretch.
"I agree with Valerie on this one, yes? Bad tactics to tangle with the Queen of the Vestian Web."
I heard Vesrik purring at our pettiness. "When the three of you agree on something, I'll let you captain the ship!" Valerie, Zatkis, and I all perked up, all three of us having the same lust for command of Teriks-syn.
Vesrik cackled at our love for ships and said, "My senior officers, ladies and gentlemen. Now... the map, yes?" Vesrik went to touch the controls on the computer, and an interface showing options to see the specific mapping for the regions of the Reef, allowing us to understand it better.
"Once we have found good spots for mining operation, we will be able to become a larger power not only in the Reef, but among the other Houses. We will earn our respect from them, and we will be recognized in the Reef for more than just a runaround ship!" Although Vesrik wanted to save the Eliksnicity among his ship, we needed our share, as selfish as it seems.
I suggested, "Hang on, Vesrik. I know building Teriks Prime is important for the survival of this house and all, but like all people we need our share of pay."
Vesrik gave me a nasty look. "Rager, you want to live back with Rel. Is that what you want?"
My mind flew in a flurry of black memory. Rel, the camp, the slaves. I drew my hand cannon, aiming it directly at Vesrik's head. Zatkis and Valerie looked straight at me, Zatkis drawing his blade and Valerie her pistol. They looked me in the eye mercilessly, Zatkis trying to protect family by the blade; Valerie trying to keep her pay. He looked right at the barrel, closed his eyes, and nodded in disapproval.
"I'm not afraid to pull this trigger, Vesrik. You may be my kell and my friend, but there are some limits that we both should have, am I wrong?"
Vesrik replied with the same attitude he had before I drew the cannon. "Don't hesitate, then. Just shoot. I do not fear the fall, we've felt the ground before, yes?" I laid down my rigid pistol, and realized my actions.
"I apologize, my kell. I should not allow my anger towards the past affect my present duties." Vesrik smiled, clearly had this planned out as one of his 'lessons'.
"Do not worry, Rager. You will be fairly paid, and I am preparing a weapon I think you will like." My face lit up, and I gave a teasing look to Valerie. She glared at me then looked at Vesrik. "Do not worry, Valerie. I'm getting you a personal ship." Valerie's gave a large smile and smirked at me.
"Look who is getting a larger pay now, Dennis. I have the better end of the deal this time, wouldn't you agree?" I glared at her with envy.
"You are lucky you're pretty, that's the only thing that's saving you from a cap."
Valerie scoffed, "Please, Rager! I outgun you by a mile. From what I can tell, your cannons defective. It goes to your mind."
"The only thing going to my mind is the amount of kills I have racked with her." I looked at my pistol with pride, Valerie looking at me with judgment.
Vesrik purred and said, "Well, sharpen your aim for next mission. You'll be happy to know that we're going to get that your pay where we are going, so get ready to have that ship, Valerie. I haven't forgotten your sniper either, Rager. Zatkis, you benefit from the mission after." Our faces lit up, hungry for our new prizes.
"The mission after will be a mining trip, to gather the parts for a Prime Servitor. It is essential to keep all Eliksni alive aboard this vessel.
Zatkis looked a little unhappy for a second. "I'd like to know I'm getting something other than a longer life, Vesrik. I'm going to have to request some glimmer and a blade. Fair, yes?"
"Sure, nephew, sure. I can get you a new blade after our mission. All I ask is that all of you are as sharp as your blades, understood?" Vesrik never gave special treatment, not even to his kin.
We all said in sync, "Understood, my kell!" Vesrik purred with amusement and left for his private quarters.
