Armsday Recommendations: 2/1/17 “Saving for a Rainy Armsday.”

Ahh! It’s Armsday! It is the first of the month & we start the month off with Armsday! This Armsday we are seeing Vermillion, which is a step down from Cyclamen. Cryptarch’s must have infiltrated the Foundries & infused disappointment into everything. This week I sadly have less rolls than usual, I redeemed some last week, & much to my own dismay, I accidentally double ordered some guns. I also forgot to redeem my JLB-47, so that order will be sticking around for some time, just like the notorious Thesan. Once again, the Apps seems to have Rolls that either: A. Changed over the night/morning. or B. The Apps are glitching. Let’s get to the Rolls! _____ Disclaimers: All recommendations no matter how good or bad are still pure opinion. My recommendations are 100% for PVE & strive for Static Performance vs Situational Performance. God Rolls There are 2 types of God Rolls. Community = Popular Opinion/Suggestion. Personal = A roll that perfectly fits/enhances YOUR individual playstyle. PVP I will NOT be making PVP recommendations. Haunter will be covering PVP rolls in his PVP posting below. _____ Legend: HC = Handcannon, SR = Scout Rifle, AR = Auto Rifle, PR = Pulse Rifle SPR = Sniper Rifle, FR = Fusion Rifle, RL = Rocket Launcher HCR = High Caliber Round, APR = Armor Piercing Rounds, EXR = Explosive Rounds AoO = Army of One, EotS = Eye of the Storm, LitC = Luck in the Chamber SPS = Single Point Sling, Hand-Laid Stock = HLS, Close &/or Personal = C&P Omolon “Try our new Root Beer Float flavored High Caliber Rounds." "(Maycauseindigestionand/orguaranteeddeath.)” Uffern HC4 Roll 1: Fastdraw/Quickdraw/Truesight Mulligan Lightweight/Injection Mold Rescue Mag/Underdog Roll 2: Fastdraw/Steadyhand/Sureshot Grenadier Lightweight/Braced Frame Triple Tap/Underdog Roll 3: Fastdraw/Steadyhand/Sureshot Mulligan Snapshot/Injection Mold Rescue Mag/EotS Recommendation: None Redeem/Save/Reorder: Save Roll 2 has potential, but these rolls suck. Save your order for next week. Kumakatok HC4 Roll 1: Fastdraw/Steadyhand/Truesight LitC SPS/Braced Frame Triple Tap/Danger Close Roll 2: Fastdraw/Steadyhand/Sureshot Grenadier Extended Mag/Rifled Barrel Rescue Mag Roll 3: Fastdraw/Quickdraw/Truesight Grenadier Extended Mag/Braced Frame Triple Tap/Underdog Recommendation: None. Roll 1 is a valid option for those who enjoy LitC & no longer wish to hold onto this order. Redeem/Save/Reorder: Save Roll 1 is a LitC users dream. Braced Frame significantly lowers your magazine, so you will proc LitC consistently & frequently. There is no range perk however, so this is a CQC gun, but the added threat of LitC is a decent equalizer. Honestly, this is more of a PVP roll if you ask me. I wouldn’t wish to rely on LitC in PVE in CQC situations. Cocytus SR4 Roll 1: Candle/Flash/Signal Replenish Snapshot/HLS Zen Moment/Exhumed Roll 2: Spark/Torch/Signal Triple Tap Quickdraw/Rifled Barrel Zen Moment/EotS Roll 3: Candle/Torch/Impulse Icarus SPS/HLS Zen Moment/Surrounded Recommendation: None. Roll 2 is worth picking up if you are tired of waiting. Redeem/Save/Reorder: Save If you cannot wait another week then I would suggest Roll 2. Triple Tap, Rifled Barrel, & Zen Moment are a decent combo. Rifled will max your Range, so this SR just became a SPR, while Zen Moment helps alleviate the Cocytus’ stability issues. It’s a strong gun. But could be significantly better. Thesan FR4 Roll 1: Void Candle/Torch Replenish SPS/Injection Mold Unflinching/Exhumed Roll 2: Solar Spark/Torch Hot Swap Snapshot/HLS Underdog/Exhumed Roll 3: Solar Candle/Torch Replenish Snapshot/Braced Frame Rangefinder/EotS Recommendation: Roll 3 Redeem/Save/Reorder: Reorder Roll 3 is the stronger of these rolls due to Rangefinder, Torch (Omolon’s Best rifle sight) & Braced Frame. Decent range, maxed Stability, Replenish is “meh” but has its uses. Roll 2 may look tempting, but the short range on it breaks it. You can reorder this gun this week so give Roll 3 a whirl. Hakke “Do you know what happens when you put the raw unmatched power of Peregrine Greaves into a gun? Give up? It’s simple, you have yourself a Hakke!” Jingukogo-D ”I’m actually pretty infamous on the Destiny Forums.” Roll 1: Solar Smooth Ballistics/Aggressive Ballistics Danger Close Relentless Tracker SPS/Fitted Stock/Oiled Frame Roll 2: Solar CQB Ballistics/Field Choke Final Round Full Auto Flared Magwell/Fitted Stock/HLS Roll 3: Arc Smooth Ballistics/Accurized Ballistics Danger Close Full Auto SPS/Perfect Balance/HLS Recommendation: None. (I need a “None” stamp.”) Roll 2 if you need a Placeholder Shotgun. Redeem/Save/Reorder: Redeem or Save Roll 2 is actually very good. The gun only has 3 rounds, so Final Round will proc A LOT, slap on Flared Magwell & your reloads are near instant due to only needing 3 shells. This Shotgun will bring the hurt. Full Auto will only come full circle once Flared Magwell + your skill in predicting/learning the recoil in in play, but if you have Shotgun Loader Gloves, you can choose HLS & max your stability, but your range will no longer exist, Field Choke can help remedy this a tiny bit. Field Choke + Flared Magwell are better choices. Side Note: Hakke guns are very temperamental, they require knowledge of the brand’s passives, & perk combos. When mixed just right, they become weapons that are seriously hard to match/fight against. Judith, Jingukogo, Lyudmila require a special touch, but truly shine when paired right. Suros “Sleek. Polished. Firm. Long. Protruding. Satisfying. [Censored], SUROS.” DIS-43 Roll 1: SLO-19/SPO-28/SPO-57 HCR/Oiled Frame Rangefinder Speed Reload/Reinforced Barrel Roll 2: SLO-19/SPO-28/SPO-57 Hammer Forged/Casket Mag Take a Knee Lightweight/HLS Roll 3: SLO-19/SPO-26/SPO-57 Perfect Balance/Oiled Frame Rangefinder Lightweight/Smallbore Recommendation: Roll 3 for a Jack of All Trades, Master of None roll, Roll 1 for those who want to stifle from SPR range. Redeem/Save/Reorder: Save Roll 3 is a very well balanced SR, the Impact will stun/stifle 2 or 3 shots, but the balance + range equals a smooth shot thanks to Smallbore + Perfect Balance. Rangefinder is icing on the cake. Roll 1 will stifle with every shot due to HCR, & thanks to Rangefinder + Reinforced Barrel, it has maxed Range. So we have a Primary SPR of a gun to be blunt. If you are waiting on Full Auto or a God Roll, keep waiting. JLB-47 Roll 1: Void Warhead Verniers/Linear Compensator/Countermass Heavy Payload/Flared Magwell Surplus Javelin/Snapshot Roll 2: Void Warhead Verniers/Linear Compensator/Countermass SPS/Speed Reload G&H Perfect Balance/Lightweight Roll 3: Arc Aggressive Launch/Soft Launch/Hard Launch SPS/Flared Magwell Who’s Next Javelin/Lightweight Recommendation: None. Roll 1 for those like me who have a duplicate order &/or are tired of waiting. Redeem/Save/Reorder: Save Bah, last week was better. (Sadly, I didn’t need a Void RL…) Roll 1 shines for those who wish to dumbfire their RLs. It will not track, but you will find a steady *heh* surplus of Heavy ammo thanks to Surplus (I feel Haunter’s crosshairs on me…) Javelin will help narly max out Velocity, & Blast Radius is already nearly maxed, so Roll 1 is once again, awesome. If you already have a Truth, or a Void RL that matches or rivals this. Save your order. This RL is a rare sell, make that order count! Next Week’s Orders Ari-41: Order Stable, Reliable, easy to handle, Healthy Magazine size. All round a good AR. Can be as stable as a Laser. JLB-42: Order This is the weaker version of the JLB-47. However, if you do not have any decent RLs, or don’t have an order for the 47. This is worth picking up. A placeholder RL until you get a Truth, Gjallahorn, 47, or strong Legendary RL. Thesan FR4: Order I will just say it. As far as I am concerned this is the best FR in the game. *hears triggers snapping* Stable, Hard Hitting, Mid-Long Range, Reliable, Easy to Handle. It’s perfection. Even SIVA couldn’t change much on it. Herja-D: Order High Stability, Mid-Range, Fast Firing, Low Impact, Healthy Magazine, Easy to Handle. Honestly, this gun fires smooth for a Hakke, Hakke PRs fire 4 shots, so it can give you an edge when stable enough. My PVP friends love using this gun. Ari-45: Pass The Harder Hitting angry sister of the Ari-41. IT has 25 in the mag, but hits harder, for a SUROS it’s stability is questionable, requires the right set of rolls. Strong, Low Ammo, Temperamental, Handling has a Learning Curve. The 41 outshines this due to better all-round stat distribution. Sadly, there isn’t much to speak for this Armsday aside from the fact that SUROS is back, with a vengeance. But maybe next week will bring us some good rolls. Due to some frequent asked questions in PMs, by next Armsday (if my work schedule allows) I hope to post a vid or 2 as an “Armsday Showcase” of sorts to help clear up some confusion around some Guns, perk combos, & etc. No promises (Work has been hectic for me...not much Destiny time recently.) As well as show off some of the awesome guns we have gained from Armsday. This week’s Nightfall is a breeze with a strong long range SR btw. So the Cocytus & DIS-43 rolls maybe lifesavers if you need a good SR. Have a great week, be safe! Lock & Load Guardians!

 • Performance bonus is a decent perk on fusions if it falls on a tree other than rangefinder or you're willing to give up rangefinder. I find that stability on fusions is less important if they have a decent handling stat. I run max range on my vigil and prefer hot swap to most other perks. Ideally hot swap, rifled barrel/reinforced (rifled preferred), and performance bonus would make a monster. Once the new balance comes out in a couple weeks we'll see how bad they hit special weapons.
