After purchasing the game the players will be shown a cut-scene where their guardian is walking into the vanguard hall.
Ikora will address the guardian saying "We need some funding for the upcoming war"
A prompt will then appear requiring the player to purchase or use 500 silver to continue on with the story.
Refusing to pay will result in the "Darkness Consumed you" screen appearing until the player does so.

Okay with all the comments on this. Yes bungie made some terrible calls on this game. Pay to play or pay to win is still not one of those awful calls. I dont think they are going to go down that road though. I feel they know how many people theyd lose.

Nah, I think what he means is a Final Fantasy 14 Pay to play. Where not only do you have to pay 60$ for the game, You have pay $60 for PS Plus/Xbox live, and a monthly fee just to play Final Fantasy 14
