VoG and Crota had excellent weapon drops, so they were worth playing. I ran Kings Fall once on normal to get ToM and that was it.
3 manned Crota hard mode a few days ago just for the fun of it. Crux dropped for my friend that didn't have one yet as well.

The Fang in the Crota raid was such an awesome gun, wish it was still usable now

I didn't complete crota a whole lot back in year 1. I don't think I ever did hard mode until Y2. Started training soloing it to get the flawless raider trophy. Then I'd solo up to crota and have a friend or two help for hard mode. I think I've soloed him once on hard, just to challenge myself.
