Ummm...they determine what color my disappointment will be when opening a package? Seriously though, if I had to look at them as what they mean to me, it's about your philosophy of why you are playing the game, doing missions, strikes, etc. Dead Orbit believes that we're fighting a losing war, and the only way to win is to reposition ourselves in the universe. Either we escape the Darkness, or we find a way to hold our ground better, somewhere else. FWC are the scholars and philosophers, trying to stop the endless cycle and find some true meaning and a way forward. Willing even to brave death repeatedly, or madness they look for the true nature of the Darkness and what will help us light our way through it. New Monarchy is for those that believe that what we are doing now isn't correct, and would rather employ different methods, both to the war and in governing humanity. I personally identify as FWC, because I think that a NM government would just do more of the same or worse, and Dead Orbit is trying to find a way to escape the problem rather than solve it. FWC is trying to find the answer to our issue; whether they ever will or if it's all futile has yet to be seen. Yet I'd rather be seen as trying to do something about the issues at hand, rather than seize power or run from danger. Which probably explains why I rant, at length, on balance discussion threads.
