In pushing Fenrir back, he made enough room to pull his shotgun up, and as his opponent lunged again, The Betrayed Soldier let off a shot from his weapon, straight at Fenrir's head, from extremely close range. "Perhaps there are no gods... and a lot of angry souls."

The shot hit his shoulder, as his head was tucked, and he blazed through, melting the bullets as they entered the fire covering his immediate person. Their impact still carried kinetic weight, however, slowing him down some. Still, the shot wasted precious time for him, and Fenrir crashed into him with the force of a speeding freighter. "You have seen Hell! You have tasted its fires! How do you now deny it, having left for only a few minutes?!"

  • The shot was not that of a standard shotgun load. Rather, it was something more akin to a ball of molten slag. The force and sheer heat alone were more than enough to do serious damage, even to heavier armor. "Who are you kidding? I've been stuck in between life and death for some time, but Hell is not my home, and never will be." Interesting...

  • Even as such, it still burned in the Yodünfire. It was then that Blackjack noted the slight increase in temperature had risen to a twenty degree climb, and it was still climbing. The massive man crashed into the rabid Wolf. "And you still deny it, though you accept that souls exist and you lived between death and Hell?"

  • He laughed as the man tackled him, his own flames burning brighter, the air growing colder. It seemed that Fenrir's rage was merely feeding the Betrayed Soldier's strength. "I sold my soul to protect the last thing I could hold on to. My family." He thrust forwards, rolling and pushing Fenrir off , allowing himself to stand back up.

Fenrir moved with the push, dropping back onto his left leg and planting his right, then pushing off with his left leg to spin him left, swinging the greatsword at the man. The blade superheated to that of a stars outer layer, able to cut through most metals. "But would your family want to be saved if they knew it meant your damnation?!"

  • "Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for another." He said, whipping the shotgun forwards again, blocking the blade with it. Clearly, the weapon was not a regular Winchester Model 1887, nor was The Betrayed Soldier weak. To block a great sword as such took an unparalleled strength.

  • Fenrir continued to spin into the attack, his right hand coating in the Yodünfire before he punched the Betrayed Soldier in the face with all the momentum of his attack, his fist at an even higher heat than that of his sword. "But, is there not a difference in laying down your life..." The gauntlet grew hotter still. "and damning it?!"

  • He staggered back, the flaming side of the mask falling off, disappearing into thin air, leaving only half of a flaming skull. "One for two is gamble I was willing to make." With his own fire, he delivered a savage blow to Fenrir's solar plexus, the blow knocking the wind from him. The Betrayed Soldier was feeding on his power.

  • Fenrir was perplexed. This man should be consumed, burned away, yet here he stood, gaining power even as the Crusader unleashed it. Finally, his brain caught up to his actions, and he quickly cut the flow of power coming from himself. He quickly recovers, having no need to breathe, and sends another punch to the rabid Wolf, his hand missing, or so it seemed. "Nasty trick, that. Useful when fighting idiots such as myself." His fist opened, grabbing the Betrayed Soldier by the back of the head and slamming his his down onto Fenrir's right knee, which now came up to greet it.

  • He took the blow, but it did not seem to phase him. Staggering back, he recovered, looking to be no worse for wear, flames still coating his left hand. "You don't get it, do you?" He growled. "You're a monster, just like me... except you feel pain." He fired the shotgun again at Fenrir's chest, the blast more powerful than the first. While he wasn't feeding on the powers now, he had still greatly strengthened himself, and seemed to have an iron resolve.

  • "Hehehe..." Fenrir's shoulders slumped over, his head hanging low. They bounced, as he continued to chuckle. The slag shots hit, ripping through his chest, his lunge, his heart, tearing out the back of his armor. He was, by all rights and means, a dead man. But then...why...? "Hehehehe...." Why did he still laugh? "Hehehehehe..." Why did he chuckle and laugh as thou this were some garish joke. "Pain? Hehehe. This isn't pain." He bled profusely, but fire beamed out of both sides. Yet this fire wasn't of Fenrir's normal blue flames. This fire was red. Fenrir would not look up at the man. "Pain is relative, when one has suffered with the absence of one's God. You know yourself that there is no pain to compare to that." Fenrir stabbed the ground with Ragnärok, the earth cracking as the ancient blade slid into it. There was no heat coming from the Wolf now. "You wish to burn things with cold fire? Fine. Let us see who freezes first." The cracks in the earth began to spread as the blade broke apart the complex compounds to absorb the heat of the chemical bonds. Nearest to him, the earth began to disintegrate. He looked up to the Betrayed Soldier, and his eyes blazed Crimson. "So, from one monster to another," His eyes seemed to bore into the very soul that stood in front of him, the madness of a broken man emanating from the Crimson blaze. "which level of Hell did you make it to?"

  • "They wouldn't let me in." He replied calmly. As Fenrir's powers strengthened, as did those of the Betrayed Soldier. The very air around them dropped far below zero, the mercenary seeming to be quite unfazed.
