"People don't look at me where I'm from. That's where my time powers come in handy. Just slow time and take whatever I want, but I usually take just food. How else would I have this gun?" James noticed that Watcher dropped the voice modifier, maybe he was beginning to trust James. "I have the skills to make it out there, I did for 14 years. I had nothing but my wit and the ability out there. When people won't help the needy, you'll make them the needy, karma." Stinger began to start liking the Dojo, maybe he would stay yet. "Do you know where I can get a better knife by any chance?"

  • "I do know a dude with plenty of knives and guns." He said, modulator coming back on, distorting his voice. "He's kinda terrifying, though."

  • "Well, I've now killed a man, so I think I'll be fine. Why did you turn the voice distorter back on?" James knew his knife was bad and he needed a new one, but there was few people here that didn't scare him. He'd get over it one day. But certainly not today.

  • Rather than answer, he shot a question back at James. "So, you've actually killed someone?" He sounded a little bit shocked that someone near his age had done something like that. He knew soldiers did it, he knew the people that he had been taken in by had all done it, but he himself had never taken the life of another human being, he never wanted to.

  • "Yeah, I got the vengeance I seemed. He was a bad man who deserved to die." James couldn't help but notice that Watcher hadn't answered his question. Just keep telling yourself he deserved it. It'll make the pain go away.

  • Watcher remained silent, expression unreadable through his helmet. "So you still need a new knife?" He said, seeming to be alright. "Like I said, I can take you to a guy who's got plenty."

  • "Yeah, if I'm gonna be successful, I need to be able to fight and defend myself. Thanks, by the way." James got ready to follow Watcher to the man

  • Setting off, Watcher led as James followed, weaving through the crowded streets nimbly, and if James was watching extra-carefully, he could barely see that Watcher was stealing things from shop stands and sliding them into his bandolier as they went. The walk carried on for two blocks, until they neared an open courtyard, where a massive aircraft was landed, rear cargo bay open. It was clearly a VTOL gunship of some sort, the twin 30mm nose cannons and heavy Gatling laser giving that away. A strange and fairly intimidating design adorned the craft's nose, and loud classic heavy metal music played from a stack of amplifiers near the rear cargo ramp underneath a canopy that had been set up. The artillery net canopy covered crates loaded with munitions and weapons of all sorts, and there was a stand that seemed to be for some sort of armor maintenance. Someone large could be heard inside, moving ammunition and weaponry. "HEY WILSON!" Watcher shouted. "F*CK OFF KID! I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU STEAL SOMETHING AGAIN I WILL BEAT YOU WITH YOUR OWN SEVERED ARM!" Came the reply, a different voice, a hint of a western accent with a metallic and filtered sound. "IF YOU DON'T WANT BUSINESS, THEN FINE. I'LL TAKE THIS GUY SOMEWHERE ELSE!" An audible sigh came from inside the craft, and the music's volume was lowered as a hulking figure exited the aircraft. He stood in a full suit of X-01 MKVI Advanced Tesla Power Armor. An M2HB heavy machine gun sat atop his right shoulder, the skull of an alpha deathclaw atop his left. A large knife was situated in a leg holster on the inside of his left leg, and two large revolvers sat at his hips. Two belts of .50BMG ammo crossed his chest, and on his back, beneath his Old World Flag cloak, an M240B, an M1 rifle, and a machete. On the rear of his waist, a sawback Bowie, and in a shoulder holster, an M1911. The helmet he wore was still spattered with blood, and the insignia of the Cobalt Phoenix graced his chest-plate. "What can I... wait, what the hell?" He turned his head towards Watcher, sounding angry. "Kid, I'm not selling guns to another kid. Look I know I'm f*cked in the head but I don't mess with that kinda stuff." "He doesn't want a gun, he wants a knife." "BECAUSE THAT'S BETTER!" "Dude I have a knife on me." Wilson thought about saying something, but sighed instead, and looked to James. "Well f*ck me I guess I'm doing this sh*t after all... Do you know much about knives?"

  • James was taken aback. This definitely wasn't what he had expected. Maybe some shady guy in an alley, not a full blown muscular psychopath. After staring for a moment, Wilson looking terrifying still, James finally managed to speak. "I've never had anything bigger than this pocket knife. That being said, this knife had killed a man." Although it hurt him to flaunt that fact like this, he had to scare people into not hurting him. "I don't have much ability with a knife, but my time powers certainly help."He hated to flaunt that as well, but maybe he could get people to fear him. "I just want something big enough to where I don't have to stab them 3 times to even harm them"

  • Wilson stifled a laugh, and then lost it. "HOLY SH*T YOU MURDERED A DUDE WITH A F*CKIN' POCKET KNIFE? THAT'S F*CKIN' SICK!" "Alright, alright, real-talk... you need a real knife." He unsheathed his Bowie knife and showed it to James. "Good fighting knife, Bowies are big and pretty good at doing the job with one go. Usually, they're heavy, but they'll fit the hand well. You put that in and pull it out, the serrations are gonna leave a nasty wound, and the blade's big enough to defend against other blades. Thing is, you aren't gonna conceal that too well." He sheathed it, and withdrew his machete from its sheathe on his back. "You really wanna kill someone with one go, here's how to f*ckin' do it. You can bash 'em, smash 'em, cut 'em, gut 'em, you name it. Not to mention, machetes just look pretty f*ckin' scary." He sheathed it, and reached down to pull his combat knife from his leg sheathe, which was smaller than both the Bowie and the machete. "This is just your typical multipurpose combat knife. Good for anything you need it for, a little bit more concealable. If you're into the whole fixed blade thing, there's tons of variations of combat knifes, and if you're into folding blades, I have plenty of them too, all pretty much bigger than your toothpick." Wilson remarked, twirling his own knife.

  • "Well, I don't really need to conceal my knife, I want it to be easily accessible and seen. I just want something to get the job done." James grabbed the bowie and tested its weight. He stabbed in and out very, very quickly. Faster than what was normally possible. He tried with the other hand, which had slightly weaker trusts and was slightly slower. "I love it. I do want to try the machete though." James took the machete and did the same exercises. His right hand still being dominant, very strong, very fast with a slightly weaker and slower left hand. Well I simply can't decide. You know what? -Blam- it. Let's have a -blam-ing party. Both of them. Bowie and machete."

  • "I'll go see what I have in the chopper, probably have some stuff similar to what I'm carrying." Wilson turned and headed back into the Vertibird, returning a few minutes with a Bowie that was a bit different from his own, and an older, more traditional-looking machete. "Hundred bucks, kid." He said, extending a hand, clearly expecting some money.

  • James reached into his pockets, reaching for money. He had 203 dollars in all, most gathered after he killed Zachary Harken. "Luckily I looted that guy he killed, he had like 150 dollars on him. Here ya go." James handed Wilson the money and beamed. Make him think I'm a psychopath. That way he, along with most others, will leave me alone

  • While Wilson said nothing and took the money, he could clearly see the bluff, and could tell that the kid wasn't nuts. Hell, he was nuts, he knew what crazy looked like. The kid was just probably trying to fit in. Whatever. Wilson handed over the machete and the knife, and trudged back into his Vertibird to continue doing whatever it was that he had been doing. Watcher remained, leaning up against one of the canopy supports. "You're not gonna fool him into thinking you're crazy. He's a sociopath. He knows what crazy looks like. Plus, you're a bad actor." He laughed a little with his last line.

  • "Well, trying is better than nothing. I've already had a few mark me as crazy, too far gone. Even I think I'm a bit crazy." James' voice fell off as he finished that last line. Watcher and James continued to stand there for a moment, completely silent. "Well, where to know?" James asked, eager to do something with his knew toys.

  • "I'm the new one, I have no idea where anything is or where anyone is. You know infinitely better than me. It's up to you." James looked embarrassed for being so indecisive, so he looked down instead.

"Look dude, I spent like a day in the medical center after I robbed that guy," he said, gesturing to the Vertibird, "and then I ended up getting kidnapped by a CIA merc, so I really haven't been around as much as you think. There's only so much you see under a blindfold..." Watcher stood from leaning, and lifted a rock from the ground with his telekinetic gauntlet, simply playing around with it.

  • "Damn dude, I didn't know. I came here and an hour later I had killed a guy. We've both had it pretty rough honestly. I think yours has been worse but I've only been here for like, three hours. This place is insane. I love it. James grabbed his Bowie from his belt and tossed it up. He caught it and repeated. In an attempt to add some variety, he threw it up about 20 feet, slowed time, ran in circles around it, and caught it. Vertigo struck. "Note to self, let's not do that again." James sat down on the floor, not even caring anymore. "You haven't told me your real name yet. I'm curious." Deep down, James had always been a joking person, but deeper down he cared about everyone, maybe too much. He liked to make everyone happy, keep the mood light. "I may just stay here, I suppose." Originally, James planned on leaving as soon as he killed Zachary. His mind changed, unless nothing cool comes up any time soon.

  • "Well, I guess I could take you to meet Rose. She's pretty chill." Dodging questions yet again, but why? What was wrong with Watcher? Clearly he had to have heard James ask them, and surely there was a reason for the odd behavior.

  • "More young people? Hell yeah!" My question was dodged. Not one to trust easily I see. I guess I'll just wait for a while to ask again. "Alright, whenever you want to go."

  • "Well, she's like, twenty-something, but yeah, I guess she's young. The only oldish guy I know is Nick Clarkson, dude goes by the name Crow. Spooky guy." He replied, turning and walking out of the courtyard and down another street which was a little bit less busy than the ones from before. "Might run into Wolfe too. Haven't seen him for a while, but I'm guessing he might be around there if he isn't at his place or the Vertibird."

  • "This place is so confusing. Good thing I like confusing. I want to meet these people though, I haven't met very many." James didn't know if he could trust many people, he was almost sure he could trust Watcher. Watcher didn't trust him though. He'd have to change that.

  • "It ain't so bad once you hang around for a little bit. I don't think I've met too many people that have tried to kill me except Wilson." He said, walking down the street and heading for a small two-story building between a small deli/store and a bookstore. A new sign had been put up on the front, a large white square with a red cross in the center of it, clearly denoting it as a doctor's office. It looked just like any other small urban two-storey on the outside, well-maintained and thin, but inviting and homey. Watcher headed up to the door and walked in, a bell chiming as he did so.

  • James looked around, seeing an actual house and a doctors office, something he'd never seen before. "So this is what a real house looks like... It's amazing. I wish I could've had one." James looked around in envy, seeing mysterious things entirely new to him. "Thank you Watcher, thank you..." James looked down again, it was easy to tell he was lost in thought.

  • "This place has been the first real home I've had in six years." He said, entering. Two individuals were speaking in the room before them, both pausing in the midst of their conversation to see who had entered. A woman leaned up against the countertop that separated the waiting room and the office. She was short, wearing combat pants, boots, and a regular t-shirt. Her pale blonde hair was tied in a ponytail, and she looked almost surprised to see the two boys. The man before her looked extremely imposing in his full suit of armor. The exosuit he wore was painted matte black, with scratches and scrapes all across it, along with a few bullet ricochet marks. On his left leg, a large Bowie knife sat in its sheath. At his waist, a leather gunbelt, and at each of his hips, a .44 magnum, Smith and Wesson Model 629 Stealth Hunters. Magnum shells lined the gunbelt as well. Across his chest, a bandolier, with numerous tactical pouches used to store various items for any situation. His cloak was back, exposing both his shoulders and his helmet. On his left pauldron, a kukri was situated in its sheath, and on his right, five .50BMG rounds sat in a sidesaddle. The tip of his blade's hilt could be seen over his right shoulder, the stock of his Barrett M107A1 over his right. However, what stood out the most was the mask he wore. It fully covered his face and head, and the lenses of the eyes glowed an eerie blue. Like the armor, it was painted entirely black, save for three jagged white slashes across the right side, painted bright white. He turned and looked towards the two, and spoke, voice metallic and calm. "Hey Miles. Who's your friend?" Watcher stopped in his tracks, and stared back up at the man, and then looked over to the woman, clearly not happy. "I thought that was between you and I." "Look, it was an accident..." She said, clearly sincere. He sighed, and walked past them, briskly, and headed upstairs. The armored man looked to Rose. "I'm guessing that he probably wasn't keen on me knowing that..." "Oui, Monsieur." She replied. The accent and language gave her away as French.
