The Child Outcast As Stinger walks towards the Dojo, the thought that he doesn't belong comes to his mind. Not only is he rather young, but he has no real weapons, only his wit. Then again, he has no where better to go, no family to love him or miss him. Maybe he does belong. As he grows closer to the Dojo, he begins to see people also going to the Dojo. He doesn't see one person younger than him entering, only taller and older and far tougher looking people. The thought that maybe he should turn around comes back, but he wills himself to keep going. He still sees no one younger than him. As he reaches the courtyard full of sparring people, he looks around and is terrified. Suddenly, the thought that he may get seriously injured crosses his mind. But he doesn't give in, he wills himself forward.
Open, don't beat me too badly
• "I've come to train so I can avenge the murders of my parents. I am beginning to see that maybe I'm too young. Also, I'm Stinger, pleased to meet you." Stinger looked forward at the courtyard at the people sparring. He knew the people here intimidated him and he thought that they may take advantage of his young age. He'd just have to watch himself. He continued looking ahead, awaiting a response.
Chill. You'll be fine.
One of the first people that the young boy came across was a young woman, practicing against a stuffed, humanoid dummy of some kind. Except, she merely stood in front of it, staring upon it's design and such. The woman bore an exquisite, light grey longcoat, which draped over her athletically thin body as a handkerchief protruded from the neckpiece of the outfit. Dark grey tights served as pants for the woman, while black combat boots god away and protected her feet from the earth. Her oval shaped head faced the practice dummy, her pale and - to some, attractive face - simply staring upon the target, steel-colored eyes locked upon it. Her light silver hair was tied into a bonnet, dyed and shining in the sunlight. She bore no weapons at all, yet...there was something about her that made her special. When suddenly, she spoke three simple words. "One Vision, Assault!" Suddenly, a 6'11 feminine figurine appeared in front of the woman, and between her and the target, their body covered in shining white armor. Beneath the helm was an angular, feminine face, as a fine cape was draped over their back. A rapier suddenly appeared in the being's hand, as they yelled out a singular Japanese word themselves:[//i] "Kettō!!" The Stand suddenly moved in a flash, tearing the dummy to pieces with a ridiculous amount of speed. Yet, it was done in an etiquette manner, while it's user only stood behind in. In a matter of seconds; the dummy...was no more. The Stand, supposedly called One Vision, tapped the pointed blade against its chest piece before fading away, when the woman then turned to notice the young boy. A slightly frightened look was upon her pale face; she thought she would have scared him. "...Oh. Hey there...what's your name, kiddo? Do you live here, by any chance? Perhaps...someone from the village?"

  • Stinger looks up at the woman with both a look of awe as well as a look of fear. He wonders if one day he'll be able to do something like that, something more than being able to slow time. "Umm... I don't belong here... I can't do any of this stuff with the powers of anything. I just came here seeking training. I'm no one really" He starts to back away but sees the woman still looking at him. "I- I-... Call me Stinger, that's my name. I need to learn how to fight, I have no one to teach me and no where to go. That's why I'm here." Stinger walks back towards the woman. "If you don't mind me asking, who are you? Not just your name, what was that you just did?" The look of fear and feelings of fear have both faded. All there is is pure awe.
This is my first time, I'm not very good at this.
A child, who wanted to learn how to combat others...it was certainly something that the woman, in her short amount of time here, had not seen yet. Still, she nodded calmly, placing her right hand upon her hip. "You can call me Sarah. Sarah April Monroe, in fact. It's good to meet you, Stinger." Sarah disliked the name Stinger a little; it didn't exactly fit a young child, at least not to her. And now, she would have to explain to him about her..."power", or "magic", one would call it. "Ah, yes - my Stand. Of course, you probably don't know what a Stand is..." Sarah smirked a little, before beginning to explain. "A Stand is the physical manifestation of a Stand User, a person that has either been born with a Stand or struck by an artifact known as The Arrow. Basically, it serves as a guardian; something that Stand users can call upon in the heat of battle. Stands can be almost anything, really - my Stand, One Vision, is primarily melee focused, and thus relies on close-ranged combat and pure speed to reach success in a fight. Some Stands are controlled by the user, some are free and have their own will - and some are both." As if waiting for the moment it would be mentioned, One Vision appeared into existence next to Sarah, looming over both her and Stinger as it casually twirled its gleaming silver rapier. The bright blue eyes of the Stand locked upon the child - and underneath it's helm, a friendly smile crossed its feminine face. It liked the boy, in some manner. "Stands are...difficult to get, to say the least. And you'd know if you had a Stand, which I don't think you do...but I can always train you and such. If you would want me to."

  • "The arrow" Stinger murmured. "How exactly is one struck by this 'arrow'?" He looked forward at Sarah, and know that his attention was off of her stand, she could see how beautiful Sarah was. No, now isn't the time James. You've never trusted anyone before, now is an especially bad time to start. "Is it shot from an actual bow because that'd be painful, and can anyone be struck by the 'arrow'? I'm sorry that I have so many questions, this is all just so new to me." He knew he should start training, but he had no weapons to fight with Stinger realized that it was possible that he was being to trusting, so he reached for the empty Smith and Wesson by his side. Maybe if I pull this on someone who attacks me, they'll leave me be

"Well, it usually strikes living things that have the highest amount of moral strength, or the highest amount of longing for something, in the general area. However, all Arrows have been destroyed - least, from what I've heard." Sarah thought she would have been capable of training Stinger, least in melee combat. She was a good fencer - although her Stand was superb in the art of melee combat, especially with a rapier. "...Is that revolver loaded, I wonder?" Sarah noticed the Smith and Wesson at Stinger's side, a firearm that she had gone up against before. It was capable of busting through One Vision's armor, to say the least.

  • "Well, that's a shame. I wish I could have a stand. These time powers, they're pretty cool as well. I haven't tried everything with them, but they're especially useful as a beggar." Stinger, being a child, had little experience in any form of combat. Using a gun isn't too hard, but he had no experience in hand-to-hand combat. "Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I'd prefer to keep that info to myself, thanks." Stinger felt more secure than he did before, he felt like there might be a chance he belongs.

"...Time powers? As in...the manipulation of time itself?" Sarah sounded disturbed by "time powers", mostly because she had only heard legends of how dangerous it truly was. When used properly, it would decimate all in one's way, similar to Dio. If one screwed up - everything could be destroyed because of it. The thought of it made Sarah fearful for the child; people would go after him because of it.

  • "Well, yeah. If I think of life in slow motion, it becomes that way. I stay normal speed no matter what. I've yet to try freezing time but it's my next goal." Sarah seemed very worried at the mention of time powers, James couldn't tell why exactly. There was just this look in her eyes, on her face. Maybe he was something unique. Maybe he was something bad.

"Freezing time..." The very thought of time powers managed to actually scare the young woman in some manner, while the Stand One Vision had only stood beside Sarah. If this boy was capable of literal time manipulation...who truly knew how powerful he could be, how limitless his power was. Sarah knew that he had the chance of abusing it - of course, that's where her friend Travis's Time's Up would come into play, but could that even beat it?

  • "Well, I wouldn't say 'freezing', I haven't tried that yet. All I can do is slow down the passage of time and take stuff and do normal human things. Here, watch" With that, Stinger thought of the slow motion time and ran behind Sarah. He took a knife from her belt, ran back to where he was and held it out for her to grab. He smirked slightly as he held out the knife.

Sarah slowly turned towards the child, going terribly pale. If she hadn't slightly liked the kid, she would have ordered One Vision to attack immediately. She hated having a disadvantage, no matter what. "...Huh..." She clasped the knife, nodding as she held its familiar design. She didn't know how to feel - she liked Stinger, but could she trust him?

  • So maybe displaying my powers wasn't the best idea I've ever had. After Sarah got pale, Stinger thought that maybe she was actually kind of intimidated by him. There's no reason for her to be. I don't want to hurt anyone here. But maybe it's a good thing. The scariest person I've seen as of yet is actually worried. James had something now. He wasn't manipulative in any way, he just wanted to stay safe. "Yeah, they come in handy when I'm stealing stuff. It's pretty cool. What's wrong? You seem a bit out of it."

"People with those types of powers have been known to do truly terrible, fear-inducing things. The ability to manipulate time itself...it is truly a horrifying ability." The thought of freezing time actually disturbed Sarah highly; after the Dio incident in Cairo, Egypt, something she had only studied - an event caused by a power-hungry vampire named Dio that possessed The World, which could stop time - Sarah hoped she would never meet someone with that ability. And now, she had met Stinger. But...he was just a boy. He wouldn't do anything bad...right?

  • "Good thing I'm not entirely psychopathic yet. But seriously, I wouldn't ever do that, I couldn't. Hurting people isn't something I like doing, i never want to kill anyone again." Stinger had no idea why Sarah was so worried, a young boy has no delusions of conquering the world, much less killing people. There may have been a past incident Stinger never heard of, but Stinger never even thought of hurting people, minus his parents murderer, who was dead now.

"...Y'know, this may be a little early, but...would you like to join this place? Live here among the others? I can take you in. I own an apartment around here." As if trying to lighten up the mood, Sarah changed the topic, as she stuffed both of her hands into her pockets. She would've adopted Stinger, if he wanted that. "There's a process to join, but...I can help you. It's a trial through combat."

  • "I- I- I've never had a family." Stinger looked down as tears began to well in his eyes. "That's why I came here: To avenge them, and I did that. I've spent 14 years alone, no one but myself and it's been unbelievably hard. So yes. I'll take the challenge." Stinger looked up with a certain determination and passion in his eyes. He wanted to have a family, people who care about him. He needed it. He'd be foolish to decline this challenge. "I'm ready."

"Excellent. Here." One Vision came into the vision of Stinger once more, between the young boy and the Stand User. With one hand, it held a rapier, and with the other, a short sword. It held out both for Stinger. "Pick one. Whichever fits your fancy, whether it be the slashing blade of a sword, or the thrusting point of a rapier."

  • I'll go with... Stinger stopped to think about it for a bit. He was fast, that's not debatable. Slashing is harder, maybe it's faster though. All Stinger has on Sarah is speed. The rapier. Let's go with that.

"Very well." After One Vision handed the sword towards Sarah, it turned towards Stinger to give him the shining rapier, both of its eyes locked upon the boy that it towered over. It was genuinely interested about this would go. Meanwhile, Sarah positioned herself some feet away, spinning around and locking upon Stinger as she twirled her sword. "The challenger usually receives the first move."

  • Well, I don't stand a chance... Let's hope I can make something work. Stinger stood there for a few seconds, preparing himself for the coming onslaught. "Now or never, I guess." As he said these words, he feigned a strike straight at Sarah. About halfway through, he pulled back, spun to the left and struck again. All he could do is hope and pray he did something.

In reaction to the first jab, Sarah twisted her body around to where the pointed weapon flew past her body. Upon the second, she swung her own sword, knocking away the rapier suddenly. She was impressed, evident by the friendly smile upon her face. "Good, good."
