Probably the issue here is more about how much profit... is too much profit. There's a point where ppl start feeling ripped off and sadly I think ppl felt that alot with the FoL. I'm glad to see bungie are making gear less rng focused by having quests and it seems you can pay for some items directly (I hope). This event is looking awesome and a really good step in the right direction.
