Entitled kids fail to understand the basics of business. When you purchase an eMote that's what you get in return. You don't get a stake in whatever Bungie decides to spend that money on. Not ever.
To illustrate, if I set up a business selling apples, and you buy one that's the end of the transaction. If I happen to tell you I'm using the money towards buying a van, you don't have a stake in that van because you once bought an apple. It belongs to my business 100%
When Bungie said Eververse purchases would FUND future updates, it confused quite a lot of people it seems.. They misunderstood this as them having an automatic entitlement to free future content (forever). When you buy an eMote you are not an investor in whatever Bungie uses that cash for. It's theirs to do whatever they want with. How Bungie chooses to Finance future content is their business only. You moan about free updates because of this misplaced sense of entitlement
TL:DR - You are not entitled to anything for free just because you once bought a Zombie dance eMote

Emotes sure, you get what you want there, but loot boxes not so much. Using your own example that is like paying money to get the apple you want only to get a small box that has a random piece of fruit in it. Sure, it could be that apple, but there is a good chance that it is a pear, plum, orange, etc. There are a lot of people that would rather just pay for their apple and be on their way, but because they might get another fruit they avoid it, especially when they hear from other that there is a low chance to get the fruit they want. Also, if consumer bases become unsatisfied it can lead to a loss in business and a loss in profits, so keeping your consumers happy is the best way to go to keep profits up. Finally, stop being a judgmental asshole and just assuming that anyone that has a complaint is American.

My whole point is with regard to Bungie's statement that Eververse proceeds will be used to finance future development for live event content. The deluded think it means they are fully entitled to everything in future live events for free, and can complain as much as they want. Your example is a good illustration of the limitations of Eververse RNG purchases during a current event. But not really relevant to the main misunderstanding. The proceeds from previous Eververse sales are Bungie's to use as they see fit, and don't grant a stake in future content to the purchaser. That#s it And thanks for being a judgemental asshole about it

There's a point where ppl start feeling ripped off and sadly I think ppl felt that alot with the FoL. I'm glad to see bungie are making gear less rng focused by having quests and it seems you can pay for some items directly (I hope). This event is looking awesome and a really good step in the right direction.

As companies exist solely to maximise shareholder returns, there can never be too much profit. That's what they are for It amuses me that many Americans on here take such issue with Bungie trying to make a profit, when America is the most capitalistic nation on Earth

Yeah that's why America is going down the toilet. The previous generation has raised a bunch of entitled pricks. The worst part is that these self entitled pricks aren't even the majority (yet). They are just the most vocal, so now they're all anyone outside the country sees.
