Angel City Riley grunted as the hulking beast of a man slammed a fist into her jaw, the chains that she swung by rattling with the movement. The unnecessarily bright halogens above kept her from drifting into unconsciousness, and her captors had taken advantage of it. Shocking, punching, cutting her..for no good reason. She'd awoken with a bullet hole in her back that had been shoddily bandaged, and hanging from chains attached to the ceiling. The woman in the pinstripe suit had said nothing to her when she walked out from the doorway to her right, except to bring a brute of a man in, who had quickly set to work. One of her eyes was swollen shut, every breath hurt, meaning at least fractured ribs, she was bleeding from several jagged cuts on her arms and legs, her once blue hair was stained copper with blood that clung to her face. Her wrists were rubbed raw from the manacles, Her body was mottled with bruises, and the best she could tell she'd only been there a few hours. Six, at most. She didn't even know what they wanted from her, and she was too prideful to ask. When the man spoke up, she blankly stared at him. ''Ok Blue, this hurts me more than it hurts you, I promise. It's my job, so I'm sorry.'' He said, sitting down in the aluminum chair across from her. He said it sadistically, and Riley knew he enjoyed it. Inflicting pain and misery, making people beg for mercy. Well, he wasn't getting any begging from her. She spit a wad of blood into his face, spattering it across his mouth and nose. He didn't hesitate, reaching up and grabbing the first two fingers of her right hand and wrenching them sideways, snapping the bones like twigs. "Let's see you use a sword now.'' He said with a sneer. Riley screamed at the pain, but still no words came. She'd die before she gave him the satisfaction. The man shook his head in disbelief, walking over to a table and picking up a wickedly jagged knife already stained with blood. ''Hurts me more Blue." ------- The massive aircraft carrier sat quietly off the coast of Angel City, ominous in it's colossal presence in the night. Spotlights waved to and fro, and guards could barely be made out patrolling the airstrip on the uppermost level, almost beckoning visitors. (Blackjack)

  • Closing the gap, Wolfe uncloaked and lunged for the woman, intending to impale her through the back with his blade. He had already sheathed his revolver, seeing as at this point it was not necessary. He had been watching Riley from the corner of his eyes, she was quite skilled in combat, particularly to be able to fight a cloaked enemy without enhanced sensors. It took years of training and practice to be able to sense the movements and behaviors of an unseen opponent.

  • As Jackson stabbed the Blade towards Selene's back, it was stopped abruptly an inch from her back, and swung up into the air, away from her back. Without even turning her back, the revolver in it's holster levitated from Jackson's person, coming face to face with his mask and unloading all the rounds in the cylinder in the blink of an eye. "You are good, I suppose I should try now." Trevellian's formless voice said. With that, Riley felt a cut open on her face from a knife that was thrown. She could only dodge fast enough to avoid it impaling her face. The same thing went again, her thigh taking a graze. "Fast, truly, but what will you do when I throw two, three knives at once? What if I turn the air into a storm of flying steel?"

  • He took all three shots, the rounds smashing and ricocheting off of his faceplate. Sweeping his leg, he knocked the woman's feet out from beneath her. If she wanted a fist fight, she'd get it. The more that they made Riley bleed, the angrier he became. His movements became faster, more focused, his hits more powerful.

  • She took the sweep gracefully, turning the backwards momentum into a handspring, turning and landing on her feet. With a raised hand, she flicked a hand and sent a piece of fighter jet that Wolfe had destroyed earlier flying at him, the piece of metal easily fifteen feet tall and just as wide. "You fight with a bloodlust, Jackson. Sure you don't want a job?" ~~~ As Riley leaned to dodge a knife that she heard whistling towards her, a burning pain erupted in the back of her thigh. He'd sent two knives flying at her from opposite directions? It made sense to her once he materialized, a dozen knives dancing in the air around him. Telekinesis. "Storm of slicing steel, hon."

  • He watched it come towards him, simply walking, eventually leaping up and vaulting off of the piece of metal, landing back on his feet. He continued to approach her, not speaking. Rather than draw a weapon, he instead pulled forth a grenade, detonating it in his hand. However, it was not a fragmentation grenade or a flashbang, it was tear gas. He knew this was a risk to take with Riley, but with the way the wind was blowing, he could incapacitate all of them with the gas. None of them had filtration units, and he doubted that they had the military training to resist chemical weapons.

  • Selene laughed, out loud and with true amusement. "You don't think I'm better prepared Mr. Wolfe? What do you think someone would do when they have the capability of stealing powers from Gods?" She said, and thrust a hand towards Jackson. A gale force wind erupted and knocked Jackson flat on his back, and blew the tear gas away and dispersed it. Aerokinesis. "Why, they would steal as many as possible." If Unity had been capturing people with powers and stealing them, how many abilities did Selene have? ~~~ Trevellian launched a half dozen knives at Riley, who merely grimaced as her lithe..and bleeding, form dodged and weaved gracefully, batting knives away and letting them brush as close as cutting strands of her hair. "You talk a lot, and you're annoying." Riley said, sounding indeed annoyed. She burst forth with a blast of speed, swinging the sword wide and outwards, and Trevellian grinned at the reckless attack. If only Riley was actually mediocre at killing. One of Trevellians floating knives blocked the blade as he ducked in close to shove one between her ribs, where he was met politely by the barrel of a desert eagle to his forearm. Riley pulled the trigger, blasting the massive round through flesh and bone to a chorus of Trevellian's screams, his hand and half of his forearm falling to the deck. "Bitch!" He screamed, clutching the bleeding stump.

  • Wolfe teleported after being knocked to the ground, reappearing behind the man, revolver to his head. He pulled the trigger before the man could even finish his word, the .44 copper-jacketed round ripping clean through his skull, spraying bone and brain out of the side of his head. One down, now they could focus on the other.

"Oh. You've killed one of my favorite pets. Shame." Selene said, not sounding the least bit sorry. Stepping backwards a few feet, she raised her arms and twirled her hands in an arc. "Riley dear, you should really pass on that bit of advice to your friend Ronin. You know..the one about not leaving bodies lying around?" Amidst the flames of the wreckage on the deck, bodies began to rise...bodies Jackson had shredded with rifle rounds an hour earlier. The ones that were actually intact, which equalled a half dozen men dragged themselves to their feet, walking through the smoke and towards Riley and Jackson..as if they'd just gotten up from a nap. While this occurred, Riley stood frozen, eyes on the approaching bodies, pistol having fallen from her hand..clattering on the deck. Her mouth opened to say something, but nothing came. How.. She stumbled backwards, her hands shaking feverishly.

  • RILEY! Wolfe shouted, sounding like a soldier. I need you... Christ I f*ckin' need you.... He said, more calmly, almost pleadingly. Reaching for the pistol, he picked it up, and began scoring nasty headshots, hoping that these reanimated corpses were like the zombies he'd seen in movies and television shows.

  • While the bullets hit their targets, the bodies refused to fall. The worst part was, they weren't moving like zombies, they were moving like human beings. Dodging the bullets and running towards the pair. All the while Selene cackled and Riley stood transfixed, like she had seen a ghost. It could almost be compared to the first time Jackson saw Schrader back from the dead..

  • Jackson drew his combat knife from his waist, and spun it forward in his hand, his gauntlet blades extending. As they came, he attacked. The first he gutted, flipping the man to the ground, and curb-stomping his head. The second he decapitated with his blades, the third he knifed in the heart. He had to keep her safe. He wasn't going to lose anyone. Not anymore. Not again. Riley, please... I need you... He said, slamming another to the ground, snapping the man's spine with a powerful stomp.

  • Only one kept coming, the one he stabbed through the heart. The one whose skull he crushed, decapitated, and the one who's spine snapped stayed down. So what was the pattern there? Meanwhile, at Jackson's calling, Riley finally snapped out of it. He sprung into action and swung horizontally, relieving the last one of his head. "Incapacitate them. They're already dead, so make it to where they can't move or see. Snap legs, spines, decapitation." She listed off, still clearly shaken and stammering her words. But how did she know this..?

  • He caught the one sprinting, withdrawing his knife and slamming it into the man's neck, pulling it sideways and into the bone before yanking downwards and out, effectively breaking his neck and nearly decapitating him. You're gonna be guiding me here, He said, readying his knife for another kill. You know these powers, I don't.

"I know them.." Selene grinned viciously at Riley as she finished her sentence; Riley stammering the words out and visibly shivering as she spoke them. "Because this one was Kyr's."

  • Wolfe made a mental note to speak to Lance later on that issue... Riley, you've got to tell me how to beat her, ok? I need your help. I need you. There was a clear pleading in his voice.

  • "They'll keep picking themselves up unless they physically can't." She said, her voice still unsteady as she took a deep breath. "As for her other powers...she doesn't have anything that makes her invincible. She can die just like us. It's just gonna be a lot harder." She said quietly.

  • Only easy day was yesterday... He sighed, continuing to break necks, crush skulls, and break spines. He was down a revolver, his rifle, and his blade, and he needed a way to get them back. Two knives, his gauntlet blades, and his other revolver were not exactly designed for holding off swarms. Looking to where his rifle was, he teleported, picking it up and quickly teleporting back to his original position, using it to bash a man's skull in before reloading it.

  • Eventually, the bodies that were swarming them ceased, there only having been so many bodies on the deck, and most couldn't stand due to broken spines, legs, and decapitated heads. Selene didn't seem phased in the least, the flames from the fighter jets making smoke that consumed most of the deck, making it hard to see. "It's a shame you don't use those abilities for better applications Jackson." She said with a smile, while Riley stood quietly, analyzing the situation..

  • The smell of burning corpses and jet fuel filled the air, the carrier's flight deck an absolute mess. While he kept the rifle in hand, he did not raise and aim it, switching on his HUD's heartbeat sensor. Thermal, NV, and FLIR optics weren't going to be much help with all of the heat. I'm quite happy using them to get rid of people like you. He replied calmly.

  • "Let's see, if you can use them to get rid of someone like her." She said with another sinister smile crossing her face, flicking her hand out towards her left. Through the chaos of smoke and flames, a figure walked, calmly and calculated. Who it was, they couldn't tell. The smoke was too thick. But the figure was definitely feminine and she carried a sword. A katana. If Selene raising the dead had sent Riley into shock, than that was nothing compared to her reaction now. Her entire body froze, her eyes going blank and limbs going slack, she stumbled from the sheer effort of standing. "No..no..you didn't." She spoke in a ghostly whisper, not looking at Selene, or the approaching figure, or much of anything at all. Her eyes were transfixed on nothing but empty space, staring off into oblivion. "Oh yes..I did."

  • Riley, you're gonna get your chance now... Wolfe said, raising his rifle to his shoulder. This is the end-all, be-all... I believe in you. He said, letting off a blast at Kyr, the rounds aimed for her chest. He'd swapped his armor-piercing steel core rounds for Hornady green-tips, nasty multipurpose API rounds.

The bullets were plucked from the air, by none other than Selene. "Oh no, I'm your opponent boy." Selene says, sending the bullets flying back at Jackson just as fast as they'd been launched. At the same time, the figure walking slowly through the smoke became clear to them. She was only about 5'8", dressed in a skintight black suit. A Silencer's outfit.. her skin was a flawless porcelain, her ice white hair cropped perfectly, framing her face. Her body was lithe and agile, like Riley's. The katana at her waist was a simple black. Riley couldn't breathe, it felt like someone had a boot on her throats and was slowly crushing her windpipe. "Kyr." She breathed. This couldn't last long, she couldn't last that long. She moved before she could think, launching herself at Kyr who didn't even draw her blade. Riley slashed downwards and Kyr weaved sideways, slamming her fist into Riley's jaw.

  • Wolfe rolled out of the way, and tossed the clip from the rifle. His revolver was sitting at only three shots, and he raised it, opening the cylinder and dropping the shells. His other had already been emptied. He emptied his bandolier of grenades as well. Approaching her instead, he readied himself for a fight. Alright... And then he teleported, reappearing behind her. I'm waiting.

  • Selene turned around and finally drew the katana at her waist, ripping it from its sheathe, the edge sparking with blue electricity as she swung it at Jackson's face. ~~~ "Son of a bitch." Riley growled, picking herself up and not letting herself examine Kyr. Or, her corpse, rather. She hadn't changed a bit in the year or so since she'd seen her. Minus the blood red cut underneath her suit that peeked over the collar. Lance's death blow. It wasn't bleeding, or healed a bit. It was just kinda..there. Riley lunged again, attacking her old mentor and greatest tormentor. She thrust the blade in a feint, and pulled back, turning and slashing at her mid-section. Perhaps the strangest thing was Kyr made no facial expression or sound while she fought. She couldn't, of course, but it made it all the more eerie. A shell, just fighting at someone else's command. A shell that still fought with every application she'd wielded in life, and very well still could kill Riley. She drew the sword at her waist, an unfamiliar blade to Riley. Kyr's sound was back at the Dojo. The sword Lance had taken from her once he'd killed her. Kyr blocked the attack with ease, deflecting it away and thrusting at Riley. She was toying with her.. Riley growled to herself. This was Kyr's sparring capability. Riley weaved past the attack and sent a spinning kick at Kyr, which she dodged with almost no effort. Riley grimaced at the thought. She was fighting with the abilities Kyr had taught her, and as lance had taught her, Kyr had made her into a cheap copy of herself. There was no way she'd beat her fighting like that.

Raising his right arm, he deployed his hydraulic gauntlet blades, catching the blade as it fell. Twisting his arm, he wrenched the blade out of her hands, sending it clattering to the deck. The electricity seemed to have minimal effect on his armor, it having been built by Schrader and his father to withstand immense quantities of electricity, in case of an emergency. He knew Riley needed help, but he couldn't exactly deal with Kyr and Serene at once. Bullets were useless against one, and he'd already dropped his ammunition to maintain an advantage over the metal manipulator.
