All I know is the story keeps getting changed on the fly and it just a cheap uncreative way to extend game play. For example Dredgen Yor I believe in the original story was meant to be a warlock. There was a warlock walking around the dreadnaught in the live action prerelease for destiny vanilla. The same warlock (same appearance in gear at least) is depicted on every single thorn fragment card. Then destiny comes out all of the sudden there are cloaks and artifacts of Dredgen Yor that suggest he was a hunter. However recently a new bit of lore was added that would highly support him being Rezyl Azzir which is a titan. I believe the titan bit wasn't originally there in the first place and bungie did it to discredit the masses who all though he was a hunter or warlock. After all bungie prides themselves in discrediting stuff. Its not like any of the lore for roi was intended to exist in the first place as it wasn't a planned expansion or part of thier original story.

I still think Rezyl Azzir dies on the Moon.

I believe he did too

Edited by TotalDramaGamer: 12/4/2016 7:19:14 AMLol, that's an uncommon conclusion compared to most that i happen to mention it to.

Well the lore card places Rezyl directly where the dead titan lays. And the card said his light would shatter. When we come upon the dead titan we discovered that he had no ligt left not even a spark to reanimate. Then we find his dead ghost which we learned earlier that it was probably the one that was messing around at the lunar base station. People say the time line doesn't fit because they said it talked about recent activity. The recent activity I believe came from his ghost as he was trying to warn the vangaurd.

True, but there are several cards of several ghosts who have been left stranded on the Moon. And, we have seen, that Ghosts can fly ships. I don't think the Ghost got snatched, but rather, tried to find a way home. Either on Rezyl's ship or by itself. I find that to be plausible. I also don't think Rezyl is that deadTitan specifically because I would imagine he got a ways down into the Hive fortress before he confronted the Wizard. The reason I think that Rezyl died, and a lot of people disagree with me on, is how the Hive act in their nature. I see no reason, whatsoever, for why the Hive would let him go like people claim. It goes against their core 'values' of eating and torturing everything they can get their hands on. With the promise of long suffering, they would have either killed him or taken him to a torture chamber of sorts (or just a Thrall hatchery of sorts) to be eaten for a long time. Which is why Rezyl is not the Titan we see at the door for the Hive. He would be in the bowels of the Hive fortress for the torturing and magic wizards perform. We already know about the Hive, so they wouldn't send him back as a message. The Hive always want to eat light. It's like a drug addiction. They aren't going to give up someone that has light. They also never give pity to the weaker species. The strongest exist, the weakest serve existence by being consumed for the stronger. It would be against their nature and their laws to let him go. That and I also interpret the Wizard's words differently than most. I think, for a while, she's actually talking about Earth and how the Hive are waiting for the coming of Crota. And that is why she says that 'your light is merely an offense for now', something along those lines. And THEN she talks about Rezyl and how he will suffer. Meaning, to me, he will die. But die as slowly as possible.

You makes some interesting points. Especially with the hive and thier nature. They dont release hostages. And they dont spare lives. We know they can't because they must uphold the tribute to oryx and the worms. Could it be possible that the crashed ship we come upon in the 2nd story mission "restoration" be the ship that Rezyls ghost possibly came on?
-
That could be true. I hadn't thought of that. We really don't hear anything at all from the scan Ghost tells us. And we've never heard another ghost talk before so we can't necessarily say we know all Ghosts sound the same. Which, could in fact, be that ghost trying to contact anyone to let us know it'll be there. It would be even more convincing if the dead ghost you found in that area in that alone, super small building near the ship was connected to a Hive grimoire card.

Edited by iTHORNY: 12/4/2016 8:21:38 AMYea the possibility dawned on me when you reminded me that ghost can fly ships. A simple fact that had not crossed my mind.
-
It's very easy to overlook. Half the time I forget that ghost can fly our ship too until he swoops in on very select missions and shows off his piloting skills. And, you know, every time we land on the planet we seemingly don't have to land our ship. Of course, it could just be in orbit. But that could easily go hundreds of miles away from us if we were on foot even for a little bit. Most likely.

Yea I know we as fans are always bashing at tge developers for lack of story. The truth is Destiny actually has a massive storyline it was just implemented very poorly

Edited by TotalDramaGamer: 12/4/2016 8:36:59 AMWell, look at the Iron Lords. When the first Iron Banner went out, and even a few YEARS past that, people had no clue at all why the guns had names on them other than 'they were Iron Lords' and that was it. No connection. You could guess if someone was a sniper or shotgunner or something like that. But no personality. No detail. Just names and very small margins of trying to say something but never enough to seem serious. -- And the only thing we knew about Saladin was that he didn't like Shaax and that Shaax didn't like him.
-
Yes that is very true. Its actually nice having good lore discussion. I don't get that experience here very often. I just wanted to thank you
-
Lol, thanks. Lore conversations are admittedly few and far between but they're interesting when they happen. And this one was more than a pleasure to have. Thanks to you too. My most successful one was one that I basically hijacked another guy's 'joke' post and put up a long, serious post about the true nature of Ogre's. I'm pretty sure I got more replies than OP did... Lol. Did not plan on that happening. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/215378857?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1 Just if you're bored and curious. You can go look at it. Or just look at all the replies I got. I really hadn't expected it to explode like that.

Oh thanks I will check it out I love lore. Especially when it leaves you asking more

Edited by Jvp WReNCh: 12/4/2016 6:35:57 AMThat's true for every game that isn't a one-shot. Every company changes their story a bunch of times during development. Destiny just stands out more because it's always in development, so we're consistently playing during the development process.
-
Edited by iTHORNY: 12/4/2016 7:08:12 AMThis game is past development stages. Adding to the story us one thing. Complete changes done to the story are another. Online or not.
-
Lol it's not though. This & every Destiny game is going to be in a constant state of development. It's not like halo where we had a campaign & that was it for the story for 2-3 years while they worked on where to go next. Bungie is constantly updating & revising Destiny on much faster cycles.

I agree with you. But when the story insist one thing and later gets completely changed it only looks desperate is all Im saying
