This is a far cry from the Festival. The only things that I can see Eververse selling are sparrows and consumables, and the sparrows can be earned from Nightfalls and I believe you will get a free one too. The strike scoring, SRL maps, updated strikes, new emblems and shaders, new exotics, and new quests are all free. The free stuff in the Festival was only 3 masks, 6 consumables, and a handful of shaders and emblems.

They'll be tons of silver selling. But at least there's some actually content involved here. Remixed strikes/exotics/weapons and gear. Can't complain about that.
