Being inside of his suit of armor, JJ is unaffected by the cold of the mountaintop. To try and negate the blizzard, he puts a thermal view in the top right corner of his visor, while his main combat visor is still active. This way, he won't be completely blind trying to stumble his way through a sea of black, but can also see if any thermal signatures move in said sea.
"Come out, come out..."
JJ began charging a shot, with orange energy building up inside the barrel of his cannon.

*Sketch drops his backpack into the snow, drawing his blue-bladed sword as well as summoning one of his katanas. Underneath his duster, his fur seems to poof out a little, helping to keep him warm. He sees the faint orange glow, assuming it's JJ and he suddenly darts off to the right.*

JJ noticed the movement, and sees something move slightly on his thermals. He immediately fires ahead of where the movement should be headed, and then cautiously walked toward where he last saw that movement. This time, he wasn't charging his cannon, he wanted to be able to get as many shots out as possible.

*He lets out a small yelp as the projectile flies right in front of him. He stabs the blue-bladed sword into the ground, causing the snow to ripple and then send out a wave of snow.*

On his normal view, JJ can see the ripple, which causes him to see the wave. He quickly reacts, his cannon suddenly firing red energy. It hits the wave in front of him, melting it completely; as well as some of the snow below it. This causes him to pass through the wave with ease. Upon examination, the red "energy was superheated plasma. Knowing that the wave was sent at him in a particular direction, JJ swapped back to the original firing mode, and began firing the orange energy repeatedly across the horizon, attempting to spray-and-pray.

*Sketch flattens down to the ground to avoid being shot. He looks between his swords, deciding to stare down the blade of the blue sword as if it was a rifle. He forms a number of giant icicles protruding from the ground to try and make the area less open. He then stands up, hurling his katana towards the source of the blasts. It stops spinning in the air so that it is flying blade-first and it seems to accelerate, creating a small sonic boom.*

JJ sees the sword before it goes into supersonic speeds, so he sidesteps it before it does that. "Holy shit, did that sword just break the sound barrier?" JJ then retaliates by charging directly at where the sword was thrown from. Meanwhile, as he moves, he fires his cannon in a circular motion where the sword was thrown from.
