"Ling is back with his family, wherever that is - though, that's what his sister said. And, dated anyone before? Well, if highschool 'dating' counts, then yes. Otherwise, no. The first person I officially got with disappeared after a few weeks, and since we were on the Bloodwrath, we never really went out on dates. Then I remained alone for nine years until a few months ago, when I got with my second person ever. She and I just wanted to see what it was like, really."
[i]Lucas went silent as Keri had gone, his eyes quickly scanning the inn for the waiter, before looking back at Keri. [/i]
"Now, this woman is Ling's sister. She and I have history back on the Bloodwrath. One event sticks out, where she offered to catch me from a twenty feet drop. We both ended in the hospital where I sorta came to be terrified of her. We both thought it would be different once we reunited. Anyway, I met this girl here, Keira, and we [i]playfully[/i] flirted. Or, well, I thought it was playful. Apparently she was serious. Anyway, Chloanne caught me red handing doing nothing bad, really, but I still panicked and ended up running away, after which I have been avoiding her. Even now."

"Well, since you told me about yours, I might as well talk about mine. Funny thing is, I've only had two boyfriends as well. Both were from Cedyetica. First one was a guy named Lance, referred to by many as the best swordsman to ever exist. And he really is, in my opinion. I met him on a rooftop, we talked for a while, and a few days later we kissed, then little while later we had sex. We were together for a really long time, two or three years, then we broke up. We're still on good terms, though. Talk to him every once and a while. Second guy was a guy named Daniel, same name as the guy I care for. Got a little weird when we were all in the same room. We were together for a few weeks, then he died. And now it's you. Going good so far, wouldn't you say?"

"Indeed so. Hope we last longer than my other relationships, hmm? Might have jinxed myself there." [i]He chuckled softly, though his words were nonetheless true. None of his relationships had lashed more than a month so far. It was bad, seriously. [/i]

[b]Keri smiled over at him, her eyes radiating joy, despite them not working in the slightest.[/b] "Hey, how about we don't hope this lasts..." [b]She wraps her hand around his.[/b] "Let's make it last, alright?"

"Let's indeed," [i]He responded with a wide smile and a nod, his hand wrapping back around Keri's, and giving it a soft squeeze. Luke really did like this woman a whole lot so far. He already fell for her, if anything. [/i] "You're awesome, Keri. You really are."

"You're awesome too, Lucas. I like you a lot. And that's hard to do, since we just met a couple hours ago. You're a special something, Lucas. I like that." [b]She clicked her tongue a few times, trying to get a picture of things around her again.[/b]

Y'know what I mean, right? [/i] "Like we're connected by the red string of faith," [i]Luke responded as the waiter stopped at their table, and placed their food before them in silence. The clam chowder for Keri, and the cappuccino and macaroni with cheese for Luke. [/i] "Thank you."

"What does that mean, Lucas?" [b]Keri picked up her spoon, and took a spoonful of clam chowder, and ate it. It wasn't the best she'd ever had, but it was good.[/b]

"Eh, never mind." [i]Luke grabbed his own spoon, because who eats mac and cheese with anything else, and took a somewhat small bite. It was good, tasty. But then again, -blam!-ing mac and cheese up is really hard. [/i]

[b]Keri just say there in silence, eating her clam chowder. She seemed to be thinking about something.[/b]

[i]After a second bite, Luke lowered his fork, before looking over to Keri, smile fading somewhat. He then asked, somewhat curious:[/i] "Something on your mind?"

[b]She seemed to snap out of her trance. She smiles again, but it has a hint of sadness.[/b] "Oh, uh... Nothing. Don't worry about it."

"Are you sure? You seem sad." [i]Luke was somewhat worried now, smile fading completely, being replaced by a worried look. [/i]

"It's just that..." [b]She sighs.[/b] "I'm worried. Every time I get close to someone, something bad happens... Guess I just have horrible luck."

[i]Instead of looking even more worried or even scared, Luke just smiled, before placing his left hand on Keri's right shoulder, giving it a soft squeeze. [/i] "I promise to you that I won't let anything bad happen to me, okay? We'll make it last, right?"

[b]She looks over at him, the sad smile still present on her face.[/b] "Yeah... Alright. We'll make it last, yeah."

"Indeed we will, dear." [i]Luke said, looking back at Keri as he kept the smile. He was somewhat worried that the "dear" would ruin it, though. [/i]

[b]Keri slowly reaches up to her shoulder, and slides his hand off of it, then she holds it gently. She was happy. Content. It'd been so long since she'd been in a relationship, she'd forgotten how much she worried.[/b] "Thank you... So much."

[i]The Russian himself was rather carefree, not worrying about anything in his life at the moment. He had moved past the deaths of anyone that he loved, and, well, there really wasn't much to worry about for Lucas. [/i] "Thank me?" [i]He asked, somewhat confused. He hadn't done anything besides say a few things, right? Either way, Luke wasn't complaining as he just smiled at Keri.[/i]

"I... Just thank you. You've been so kind and... We haven't even known each other a day and... You're just awesome."

"Everyone deserves kindness, especially someone as nice as you. You've been the same to me; kind and friendly. Very, at that. So, you shouldn't be the only one thanking someone. Thank you, Keri."

"No... I haven't done anything. You've comforted me twice in the past hour, Lucas. You've done so much more for me than I have you... Can I do anything to repay you?"

"Anything, Keri? Well, there's only a single thing you can do to repay me: just continue being yourself. That's all." [i]He let go of his fork, placing his now free hand on Keri's, smiling at the blind woman. [/i] "Can you do that for me?"

[b]The hint of sadness was gone, and Keri was lightly blushing. Nobody had said anything like that before to her...[/b] "I'll try."

[i]Lucas softly squeezed Keri's hand, before nodding slowly and with a wide smile. He slowly withdrew his right hand, placing it at the side of his plate. [/i] "Thank you, dear. That's all I'll ask of you." [i]The gentlemanly Russian then quickly leaned in, placing a swift and soft kiss upon Keri's left cheek. He then moved back, a smile playing around his lips. [/i]

[b]Keri's smile grew wider, and she blushed even more... She'd always been the one to kiss people on the cheek... Being on the receiving end? Well, she actually liked it. She quickly leaned over and gave him a small kiss on the cheek as well.[/b]
