"Wait, did you say that you spent most of your life as a lab product?"

"Yup, I was made in a lab and ended up spending twenty one years of my life there. After that I pretty much ran off wandering around for about two years before ending up here. Turns out you learn a lot about genetics when you are stuck wandering around in a place like that"

"I have a friend you might want to meet. His name is Destanius. He is a biologist that messes around with genetics and stuff. The only difference is that he was a scientist and not a subject."

"Huh interesting. He live around here?"

"He is in my ship right now experimenting on some semisolid creature. Care to look?"

"Sure, might be interesting"

[b]Fortis and Ama walk to Fortis's ship. Fortis enters and knocks on a metal door that looks like it had been through a lot. It was dented in some places, had a strange black ash on it, and some strange fluid oozed out from under it.[/b] "Destanius! Could you open up?" [b]Destanius opened the door. Fortis gasped when he saw the entire lab covered with a green slimy fluid. In a set of glass containers along the wall, each container twenty feet high and ten feet long, contained different creatures made of the substance. Each creature differed in shape and size. Some looked like humans, others looked like dragons, and some were just moving piles of slime.[/b] "Some of the creatures tried to break out, but I caught all of them." [b]Destanius said. His armor was also covered with the substance.[/b] "Just make sure none of them get lose again. I don't want to have to clean the ship." [b]Fortis said.[/b] "Ama, this is Destanius. Destanius, this is Ama. Am a wanted to see what you were doing. She is into genealogy as well."

"Hmm... a slime like substance... what kind of creature?"

"I don't know exactly, but I believe that they belong to a class of animals known as 'Demutations' or a different class named 'limus', although they might belong in both." [b]Destanius says. At this time Fortis walks out.[/b]

"Hmm interesting. Haven't worked with semi solid creatures. I've seen a bit of work at the lab I lived in but it was mostly sapiens and various androids."

"It is quite different than working with solid creatures. Mostly because semi solid creatures tend to be more mischievous. Right now, I am trying to see how they react to other life forms. Such as those." [b]Destanius gestures to the other side of the wall, and there are a few more glass containers. These ones hold a large dragon, a giant snake that takes up most of the container, a strange gargoyle creature, and finally, a Phoenix.[/b] "Would you press the button next to the container holding the Dragon? I am going to test him first."

"Alright. Not worried about it becoming aggressive?"

"I am actually more worried about the goo creature becoming aggressive, and that is what I am hoping for. Then, I can find their strengths and weaknesses."

"Your project" She hits the button releasing the dragon.

[b]Destanius pushes a button and a goo dragon that looks quite similar to the solid dragon walks out of the capsule.[/b] "Now, we might want to get in that bunker. Unless, of course, you want to be in the crossfire of two large dragons." [b]All of a sudden, a small room pops out of the floor. It, as Destanius described, was indeed a bunker. Destanius rushed inside. The two dragons started to walk towards each other.[/b]

Ama follows him to the bunker and watches how both dragons interact from within. "As much as I like first hand experience, wrestling a pair of dragons sounds like something I'd rather avoid putting on my check list"

"It is actually easier than you think. Well, depending on the dragons of course." [b]The semisolid dragon appears rather interested at the solid dragon, but the solid dragon seems to be interested in finding a way out of the room. After a while of the two exchanging glances, the semisolid one lunges at the solid one. The solid one swipes its arm at its attacker, but the his arm gets stuck within the dragons body. The semisolid dragon then slowly absorbers the solid dragon, leaving nothing behind. The semisolid dragon, looking rather full after eating a dragon of his own size, then casts his gaze on the bunker.[/b]

Ama seems intrigued yet uneasy about the strange dragon. "A semi-solid dragon capable of absorbing a flesh and bone counterpart. I really hope you have something in mind in case they try to break out"

"I have seen multiple specimens like it. There are actually a few types of semi solid predators: absorbers, which you just saw, force feeders, which actually force their prey eat a large portion of them until they are incapacitated, and dissolves, which use strong acids to dissolve the prey. I am trying to study their strengths and weaknesses, because a few got loose in the dojo. Anyway, let's see what happens if we add something that it cannot absorb. Would you press that button for me?" [b]Destanius points to a large blue button.[/b]

"Hmm now I'm curious myself...." She presses down on the button unsure what to expect.

[b]A large metal ball drops into the center of the room. The dragon slowly drags itself towards it, having trouble because it still hadn't digested the other dragon. When it had finally reached the orb, it found itself unable to make contact with it.[/b] "The orb is made of a new material I created. It somehow repels semi solid creatures, yet is extremely attracted to solid ones. It is almost like a magnet of sorts. In a few seconds, the orb should start hovering around the dragon." [b]Surely enough, the orb started orbiting the dragon.[/b] "In theory, if we got a large enough orb, it would be able to pull the solid dragon out of the semisolid ones stomach. Would you like to test it?" [b]Destanius gestures to a large green button.[/b]

Ama hits the button keeping her gaze on the project unfolding in the room. "So how did you come across these creatures anyways? Or this method of genetic alteration? Whatever it is."

"There are lots of these types of creatures back on my home world. F there are none available for my experiments, I have to make one." [b]A much larger orb falls down in the center of the room. The solid dragon starts to come out of the semi solid one. After about a minute, the solid one flies towards the orb head first, while the semisolid one is thrown against the rooms outer wall. It seems like the solid one is, for the most part, unharmed. The semisolid one, however, can't manage move at all.[/b] "I think it is time to get the orbs out of there. Would you press that button again?"

"Hmm repels the slime one and draws the solid one in...." She hits the button as she thinks about the strange orbs that were in the room. "How do they work?"

[b]The orb is sucked out of the room. The solid dragon, seeing that the semisolid one is no longer stuck on the wall, runs as fast as he can to a corner of the room. The semisolid one slowly makes its way towards the solid one.[/b] "Well, the semisolid ones have a sort of... membrane around themselves. It helps them keep their overall form. Even if they didn't have it, they would still look the same, it would just take more energy to stay together. The membrane and the insides are constantly next to each other, but they never chemically bond in most parts of the body. This, combined with multiple different chemical reactions constantly happening inside the creature, create a strange anti-friction. This anti-friction is very easy to repel. The orbs are made of a material that repel anti-friction." [b]The semisolid dragon lunges at the solid dragon again, but this time the dragon breathes fire at the semisolid one. The semisolid dragon retreats back for a second, but then lunges again, successful this time.[/b] "Stupid dragon, he shouldn't have stopped spraying flames. That is the only way he could survive."
