Keri walks towards the Simulation Room, usual get-up. Brown duster, white shirt under it, middlemost button done. Black leggings, brown tennis shoes. Green earrings, strange, because it didn't match her outfit at all. Almost like they weren't supposed to go with the outfit, possibly a different one. She had short, black hair, right around at her ears. Besides her getup, another thing stood out. Her eyes. They were a light, milky brown. She was blind. Strangely, she could navigate perfectly fine. Right over to the room, opening the door, then programming the Sim Room to a location. Familiar to a small select few, unknown by most. She gazed up at the simulated sky, breathing in the air. It was home. Well, the place she came from, not her actual home. Neon lights, skyscrapers, drug dealers on street corners. She smiled. Just like she'd remembered. Of course, she didn't program the whole city to be simulated, just this street and a few alleyways. She walked off the road, over to one of the alleyways, pulling a revolver from her duster, right hand reaching over to her waist. She walked into the alleyway, looking down it. There was two men. She'd loaded the program that had two thugs in this specific alleyway, so she already knew that it was merely a few street toughs, good target practice. Despite being blind, she took aim, nailing one right in the back of the neck, falling down. She knew the second only had a knife, she'd programmed this part of the sim herself, so she holsters her revolver, and pulls a sword from the other side of the duster, a rapier. Only reason she wasn't sparring with a real person was because she only trained with her wooden rapier, a luxury nobody else in the Dojo would bother with. She quickly ran up to the second man, and stabbed him in the right arm, a quick, fast strike. He took a swing. She swung upwards, knocking the knife away. The man got angry. He ran at her, and was met with a blade. Through the chest. She wiped the blood from the blade with the man's shirt, and headed back out to the exit. The one flaw was... She'd left the door open. Anyone could've seen in. She walked out, shutting the door, then looked around for anyone that had seen in, or just someone to talk to.
Open.
• Keri's smile grew wider. She hadn't had a compliment like that in a long time, back when she still lived in Cedyetica, from her previous boyfriend, Lance. It had been a long time since she'd actually talked to a person and actually complimented them, too. Didn't happen often. "Well, thank you. Good to know I've still at least got my looks. Missing a lot of other stuff from what I once had."

"No need to thank me, Keri. I'm just being honest, really. Though, I should thank you, for making an old man feel better about himself. Don't get compliments often." His words were true enough. First woman to compliment Lucas was nine years before he arrived at the Dojo, and the second time it happened was months ago with Chloanne. Luke was one lonely fellow. Preferred to stay out of sight, though, so he didn't mind.

  • Keri just about laughed. He was old? She was almost 50! She certainly looked younger than him, but she wasn't actually. She 'looked' him in the eyes. "You're not an old man. If anyone's old, it's me. I'm almost 50."

Now, Luke didn't laugh, nor did he feel the need to. Instead, he just shrugged while shaking his head, eyes still meeting with those of Keri. "And how long did you spend in stasis? I don't count those years. To me, you're as old as you look. About thirty, I'd say. I'm the old one here, to be truthful. And, honestly, I don't even mind."

  • "I mean, it's not like you have any wrinkles or anything on you. You look around 40, sure, but it's not like your hair is turning grey. When it does, that's when you can start calling yourself old. And you don't mind about what? Just looking older? I would hope not. That's how you breed cynicism. And cynicism sucks."

Luke winced at Keri's words. She wasn't angry at him, was she? Annoyed? Either way, he didn't enjoy it one bit - not in the sense that he'd get angry or annoyed.. but rather uncomfortable and somewhat saddened. He was a pacifist and a friendly man, not upsetting people being on his list of things to do on a daily basis. "R-Right.. S-Sorry." And with those soft-spoken words, he averted his eyes.

  • Keri seemed to get slightly worried. Why was he sorry? He hadn't done anything. In fact, she'd done worse than he did. She was kinda a jerk from that lay sentence. "What are you sorry about? You didn't do anything. I'm not angry. I'm not upset. I'm not sad. You didn't do anything at all."

"Still," He muttered as he shifted uncomfortably. He didn't like it when people even seemed to get upset with him. Made him feel bad. If anything, he was too nice, really. Much too nice. "A-Anyhow.. Uh.. Well.. Ahem. What now?"

  • Keri got visibly worried now. What was wrong with him? Did she say or do something wrong? "Hey, man. You okay? You seem a little... I dunno... Worried or something."

"Oh, no, it's nothing. You just seemed upset. Don't like it when people get upset. Only makes me feel bad about myself. Too nice for my own good." At least Luke's voice wasn't shaking anymore, and he even was talking rapidly again, the words just flying from his mouth.

"I can't be mean. Makes me feel terrible. Hence why I don't want to upset people. Though, like everyone, I do have my breaking point. It's hard to reach, but I have it nevertheless. And, you seem very nice, too."

  • "Really? I always thought I was super obnoxious. I've been told that too. Mostly by gang leaders... Huh. Well, Lucas, you seem like a really great guy, in all honesty."

"People have told you that you're obnoxious? I think they're the blind ones, honestly. You're not obnoxious at all. You're a sweet and friendly gal so far. A really great one, at that."

  • "Awww... Thanks! Good to hear someone say that besides my drunk friends! And usually they don't even say that much. Usually about my tits or something. My friends don't get drunk often when I'm around 'em. They know that I do not know shame, and will do pretty much anything."

At the mention of her tits, most would've very likely looked. But not Luke. He maintained eye contact. Once Keri was done talking, he slowly nodded, thinking about her words before finally speaking, "If you're so shameless and willing to do almost anything, would you want to go out with me?"

  • Keri was surprised, but it didn't really show. She didn't expect something like that out of him. Oh well. She smiles again, and clicks her tongue once, to see if he'd changed positions. "Oh, I'd love to! You know, most guys would've seized that to tell me to take my top off or somethin, would've gotten them a slap. Not you, though. You're different. I like you."

Luke was still where he was when Keri got a more detailed look at his face. He hadn't done as much as move an inch. He frowned at Keri's comment, about how most guys would've used the opportunity for distasteful things. He didn't like it. But then again, he was one hell of a white knight, wasn't he? His expression cleared soon enough, a grin etching itself on his face as he gave a slow nod. He then spoke up, grin turning into a genuine smile, "It's a date, then, huh. Might be a tad bit rusty, though. And, I like you too. You're sweet."

  • "Oh, trust me, I'm really rusty. Been like... Twenty years since I've actually been on a date. You've probably had a date more recently than I have." Her smile went from that if just something gentle to genuine happiness. It really had been a very long time since she had been on a date.

"Been twenty years for me, too, actually. Haven't really had the time for dates after I joined the military. Guess we'll both have to shake off our rust, hmm? It'll be fun." He kept his smile, genuinely being happy as well. He didn't really expect Keri to say yes, to be completely truthful. A soft chuckle left Luke's lips, before he spoke again, "I know a cozy café in Dojoville.. Though, we could visit one in your hometown, Cedyetica? You said you had the entire city stored."

  • "I do, but it would take an hour for it to boot up. Let's just go down to that cafe. Sounds nice." She was ecstatic. She couldn't wait to actually get back into dating someone... It has been so long...

"Very fun, and I don't doubt that your presence will make it better." Luke slowly blinked as he tried to locate the way to the gate. He was at the simulation place, so he'd have to head.. Eh, he was sure he'd figure it out along the way - he did walk the path in the past, after all. "Shall we, then?"

  • "We shall." Keri said this gently, and with a huge smile. So far, Lucas was a great guy. This was definitely one of the better days she'd had at the Dojo. She lead him out of the alley, and down the street, over to the exit. "Lead the way, half-metal man."

Lucky Luke (yes, that is his actual nickname) softly chuckled at the 'half-metal man', though it definitely wasn't untrue, with his metal legs, arms, ribs. Hell, even his lungs and heart were replaced by cybernetics. He definitely was more metal than.. flesh. "I will," He said, smiling still as he somewhat shyly extended his left hand at Keri. Seemed the cyborg wanted to.. hold hands.

  • Keri slowly took his hand. She was glad he was like this. This kind of behavior was... Welcome, to say the least. With every passing second, she was liking him more and more. She already liked him a lot at this point.
