Oh I wasn't restricted to using classic Phoenix lmao
As he nears, the man kicks something out from the ashes - the General's very own flintlock. He fires round after round point-blank at the man, targeting his face before pistol-whipping Jackson and getting stabbed. The vibrating blade stabs through his coat and into his heart... Before the EMP beneath his coat and goes off, frying all tech either of them may have due to the close range. He shifts slightly to let the blade stab into a more sound piece of of Kevlar vest. The blade tore through the Kevlar, but it was stopped by the ceramic beneath that wasn't weakened like the General's original target. The man flipped Jackson's flintlock in the air and caught it by the barrel, driving it down onto the side of Jackson's left knee. He draws his own pistol with his other hand and uses that to shoot both arms with stronger .454 rubber rounds.

 •
Wait, did he hit his heart or no?
Jackson simply moves his head to dodge the shots, though they leave a ringing noise that sends him into a blind rage. He throws himself around to the back of the man, his rage numbing the rubber shot to his left arm. His right hand, however, drew his Bowie Knife, regular grip. He thrusts it under the man's right arm and up into the vulnerable chin, stabbing into his head.

 •
No because he shifted to let Jackson hit a stronger part of the ceramic with his de-powered sabre. Everyone in chat is so -blam!-ed lmao Rematch later with Lucien vs. Fenrir?
The Bowie knife goes straight through his head, letting steaming-hot blood run through and on to the General's mouth. The blade was driven so far, it pinned his lower jaw to the upper part of his skull. All was silent as the pyromaniac stopped struggling. Though he didn't seem to go limp like most bodies - he was still standing. "My commendation, Mr. Jackson. Not many people are that brutal in such close quarters combat!" Impossible. He was still alive? But how could he even talk with his jaw pinned to his own skull? The answer was obvious as he continued to talk. "I wish more were like you, General. Fighting with such vigour and analyzing my every move. You fight smart. But I am afraid our time is up. A gatekeeper is still a gatekeeper after all." He was speaking inside Jackson's mind. The entire time. Because if the General were to peer inside the man's bloody mouth, he would notice that the man had no tongue at all. "But I promise you and I will be seeing much more of each other," the man says as his pale lips attempt to twitch into a smile. "Enter the Dojo, Andrew Jackson. Thank you for giving this old bird a good fight."

 •
Oh, yes. Most definitely. To both the chat and the rematch.
Jackson is taken aback, unsurprisingly. After all, he'd been acclimated to the future he was in, but ghosts? Ghosts were something altogether too strange for now. He retrieved his weapons, then turned, speaking. "You have been the best opponent I've had in a long time. I thank you for that. Should you want a rematch, I'll take up the blade any day."
