[u][I]On Unsteady legs[/I][/u]
[u]Ry's Ship[/u]
Beta awoke again, it seemed later in the day to her, and she stretched, yawning and wondering where she was for a moment before it hit her like a .44 magnum.....which is actually what happened.
She tore off the covers over her legs, and lowered her head, all hopes of the past day being a dream dashed as she remembered with great pain the past events that led to here.
She looked around, and called out a little frightened
"R-Ry? A-are you there?!"

[b]Ry walked into the room, a gentle smile on her face. She was no longer wearing her heavy coat and pants, she was now wearing some loose-fitting, orange robes with red flame designs on them. She held a book in her hands, the label reading [i]Teachings Of The Sun[/i], and it was bound in orange leather. It was clearly a religious text from the title and the way she held it, maybe she had just gotten back from its teachings. As she turned around to close the door back, a small, half-sphere was on her back, glowing red. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail again. She turned back to Beta.[/b] "Is everything alright?"

She nodded, sighing "I......I just wanted to make sure.....it....everything just happened so fast that.... It doesn't matter I guess, do..do you think I can walk yet?"

"You'll be limping, but yes, you can walk. And if you're ready I can do the eye procedure later today. You're recovering faster than I've seen anyone before." [b]Ry walks over to the side of Beta's bed, smiling down at her. She was just really happy to help.[/b]

"oh.....umm, whenever you're ready, I'm really in no rush I.....I just want to get back on my feet...paws...whatever, I need to do something to get what happened out of my mind" she smiled back, something told you that she wasn't used to kindness

"Here, let's go get you something to eat. That'll help. Let me help you up." [b]She puts one hand behind Beta's back, and another just underneath her left knee. It might be a little tough, but it's better than Beta falling face first on the ground.[/b]

With some effort, she rose, the sweat forming on her brow showing how rough something as simple as that was for her, her right leg whined as she tried to move it, but she moved it wrong actually, everything about moving her legs felt wrong, and she moved too little or too much when she tried moving them, falling onto you with a cry as she tried in vain to keep her balance

[b]Ry positioned herself so Beta's legs didn't hit the floor, because then that would probably end with her screaming and crying. She pulled Beta close for a second, in a kind of comforting hug. She felt bad for the girl, really bad. It seemed as if Beta needed it.[/b] "How about I just carry you in there? That would work better, wouldn't it? Until you get used to your legs?"

She looked abashed and embarrassed, and shook her head sadly "C-can you let me have c-crutches or something? I....I don't want to be any trouble"

"The crutches have to be fitted to your size. I'll fit them when we do the eye operation later, okay? For now I'll just carry you, it's no trouble."

"T-thank you" She hugged back, crying a little "But....why are you being so nice to me? I....I haven't helped you s-so why are you helping me?"

"I'm here to help, Beta. And as I've said before, your brother was really nice to me. And also, I feel really bad for you. I know pain, and I don't want anyone else to have to feel it."

"Did you do something for Alex? He.....usually isn't like that.. ......nobody has ever really done anything for me..not....not since they died"

"No... I didn't do anything for him. He was just... He was so nice to me. And he was just a kid...15, wasn't he? How old are you, Beta?"

"15, We're twins, he was born a few minutes before me"

"Oh you poor thing! Having something like this to happen when you're so young... It's horrible! Whoever did this to you is a monster! Oh Beta..." [b]Ry hugged her tighter, clearly feeling very, very bad for her.[/b]

"......but..I'M the monster now....I....I'm not human anymore, and from what I've read I'm not even really that either.... I.....I don't know what I am" She hugged back, memoires flooding back as she started to cry lightly

"Oh, Beta you're no monster! Would a monster look as adorable as you do? No, they wouldn't! I'll tell you what you are, Beta, you're great! If you were a monster, why would I help you?" [b]Ry hugged her even tighter.[/b]

"i don't know.....I....the last time somebody told me they were going to help me they....they....turned me into this, they took my humanity away.....my hopes for the future" She started to cry a little harder "I.....I wanted to have kids when I got older...but....I.....I..."

"I know... I saw. They vivisected you. I'm looking for a way to help with that... I have procedures for stuff like that... I could do that with the eye procedure if you'd like."

"......thank you....r-really, thank you!" She squealed out, hugging your neck and smiling

[b]Ry smiled brightly again. It was good to see her happy like this. She actually could fix all the stuff that was wrong with her. She was just hoping she'd let her do it.[/b] "Let's go get you something to eat, alright? I'm betting you're hungry. You haven't had anything to eat in two days." [b]She rose up with Beta still in the embrace, then flipped her to where she could carry her effectively. She carried her into the hallway, down it, and into the kitchen. She set her on a chair, and went to the refrigerator.[/b] "What do you want to eat?"

"umm......eggs I guess? I haven't really thought about it" She replied with a smile, rubbing her neck awkwardly

"No problem. How do you want them cooked?" [b]She takes four eggs from the fridge, and gets a skillet out. She turns the heat on, and puts butter on the pan, letting it to begin to melt.[/b]

"Over easy? I haven't had eggs in a while"

"Got it." [b]One by one, she cracks the eggs open, putting the yolk and white in the skillet, while tossing the egg shells in the trash. She decides to boil a few as well, pulling a small pot from the cupboard, and putting two eggs in. She gets two plates out, setting one in front of Beta, and one in front of the seat beside her. She sets silverware down.[/b] "Want any coffee?"
