"If.....I.....don;t.......tell.....Alex....."
She didn't have time to say anything else, her eye fluttering shut as her breathing stabilized, no longer as ragged when she was crying
But it was ever so faint, signaling her body was losing too much blood, and her heart fluttered in its cavity within her chest, her body trying desperately to hold on as she went into that limbo that defines the line between living and dead

[spoiler]Don't you just love timeskips?[/spoiler] [b]She woke up later, in a bed. A soft bed. A warm bed, very inviting indeed. It was a circle shape, accompanied by red sheets. The room was empty, save for two things. There was an IV drip going into Beta's arm, pumping... Something into her. It was presumably plasma of the blood persuasion, but it could've been something like water, or drugs. There was a circular window off to the side, it was morning now. Either the procedure had taken a long time, or she'd been asleep a while. The other thing in the room was the good doctor herself, Ry. She wore a dull orange set of robes, complete with fire designs. Ry clearly didn't know she came to yet.[/b]

She groaned, slowly looking around, her right eye blinking lazily as she spoke in a rather slurred tone "Whurre.......am...I?" She didn't know what had happened, but then it came to her, as sharply and as painfully as the bullets had hit her. "I......wha' happen..did......?" She tried to raise the covers, to no avail, her arm was too weak

[b]Ry spun around with a wide smile, clearly satisfied with her work. She had done good things. Things that she'd only had to do once before, for that guy on the water planet. She walked over to the bed.[/b] "You're awake! Let me tell you right now, your legs were quite a hassle! They didn't want to cooperate, but I did it! I fixed your legs! Well, I replaced them entirely, but now you can do all the stuff you used to be able to!" [b]She throws the covers aside, revealing Beta's brand new legs! And the clothes Ry dressed her in after the operation. Let's start with the boring part! Beta was now wearing an orange tank top, and orange shorts. Now, her legs... They were impressive. Ry had done a great job. They were pure white, and had the makings of advanced prosthetics the likes of which you couldn't find this side of the LIMB Clinic.[/b] "One of your legs was too far gone, so it was a better idea to amputate them both and put in new ones."

She looked happy, but a little skeptical, eyeing them with a little trepidation as she tried moving one [spoiler]Are they like the same shape as beta's old legs or are they just generic prosthetics?[/spoiler] "Th-thank you, I.....I dunno what I'd do without your help but......I never even got your name I'm Beta, who are you?"

[spoiler]They're as close to Beta's old legs as you want. As a default I would say they look as close as they can to her old legs.[/spoiler] "My name's Ry. My real name is way to long for normal people to really remember, so call me that, okay? First, can you tell me what happened?"

"I....I was fixing some food up, when I heard gunshots outside.....I went outside and there was that man, standing over Alex with a gun, and....he shot me the moment I walked out of the door, I don't know why" she said quietly

"People like that... They're despicable. Don't worry, the Sun will sort people like that out for us. They don't deserve what they have. What reason did he have to kidnap Alph- Alex?"

"H-he mentioned some sort of crew. Alex never mentioned a crew.....but....he told me that he'd done some bad stuff in the past, he was going to teach me to shoot....actually he was supposed to do it today"

"That... That sucks. I feel for you. Just... I know what you're gonna be going through. It's gonna be horrible. I'll help you through it, though. I'll be here for you, okay? Just... When it all sinks in, try to be calm, okay?"

"I...why...why are you helping me? I haven't helped you and you...you saved me"

"I don't do much around here. Mostly help people. You needed help, so I did my job. Plus, your brother was super nice to me, even though I hated him at he time."

"Why did you hate Alex?" She asked quietly, trying to move her legs a little

"I was... I was different. I used to be scared of everyone, terrified. He hugged me. I used to not do well with contact."

"Oh.....I.....You scared me because you reminded me of those people that....that....well....I used to be a normal girl....then.....then there was a fire and I was hurt, they took me away in the process and turned me into this....then started opening me up, and taking parts away...like part of those horns and my left eye"

"Hmm... I could help you with the eye. I can replace it for you."

"really? Y-you aren't joking? Same color and everything?" her right eye lit up, and you noticed something odd about it that was similar to Alpha's, the pupil was a deep shade of violet, like Alpha's iris was blue, and his pupil was deep azure

"Yeah. Might be a little hard to do the unique coloring work, but I can do it. It'll glow a little in the dark, though. Is that fine?" [b]Ry was happy to help Beta. After how nice Alpha was to her, it seemed like the least she could do. She was always looking to use her skills, anyways.[/b]

"that's.....frankly that seems a little cool, does that apply to both or just the one?"

"Just the one I'm applying. Oh, and you might have to do some maintenance on it. Depends how the operation goes."

"Like come on for a check up every now and then? Don't I have to do that for my legs too?"

"With the legs the checkups would be more like tuneups. The eye will be synthetic, but it won't be mechanical."

"Okay, that works I guess"

"Cool. When do you want me to do the operation?"

"when you think it's best, you are the doctor after all"

"Let's wait a few days, alright? It'll be good for you to rest a bit first."
