[b]We reach my room, and I open the door. The walls are plastered with NCR propaganda, posters and the like. I go straight over to the stove, and get to work.[/b] "I've only got one rule. Don't touch the mannequin in the corner with the beret and armor, got it?"

*She falls over onto the ground twitching, doing all she possibly can to resist the urge to take a bite out of the beret.*

[b]I swear to God if she's even thinking about destroying that beret... There will be punishments. She could like wear it or some shit and I wouldn't mind, but destroying it was another matter.[/b]

*She's still twitching on the ground, fighting her own body which is practically screaming for her to destroy it.*

*Elvis "Urk, ack!" *Both her mind and body stop fighting and start wondering how he hasn't noticed that she's lying on the ground twitching like she's having a seizure.*

[b]I was so focused on my damn cooking I didn't notice my new daughter having a seizure on the floor. I turn around quickly.[/b] "Holy shit!" [b]I kneel down beside her.[/b] "Are you okay?"

*Elvis "I-I... Yeah... Trying not to... Urrggg... Destroy the... B-Beret!" *She starts shaking again, her body remembering that it's trying to do the opposite of what he says.*

"Uh... Here, sit in this chair." [b]I pull a chair over from the side of the room. I take a holotape player from my pocket and hand it to her. It has Red Menace loaded.[/b] "Play on this until dinner is ready, okay?"

*She nods weakly, somehow managing to lose before she even makes the tiny Vault Boy take a step.* *Elvis "Aww..." *She aces the second attempt, moving to the next level.*

[b]It took around ten more minutes for me to cook dinner. I played it, and drug a table over to where Elvis was. I sat her plate down, and mine. I pulled a chair up. The dinner was Brahmin steak with sautéed mutfruit and mashed tatoes.[/b]

*She looks at the food, a little put off by the dulled, dirty looking colors.*

[b]I take a bite out of mine. I didn't think the colors were too dull. The tatoes were red, the steak was brown, the mutfruit was purple.[/b]

*She hesitantly takes a bite of mutfruit, suddenly putting a napkin up to her mouth as she coughs, spitting it out.*

"What's wrong?" [b]I thought it tasted pretty good. Almost like a sweeter version of carrots.[/b]

*Elvis "Do you, urp, have any less mutated f-foods?"

"Uhh... Mutfruits aren't actually mutated, but okay. Try the tatoes. They're literally just a cross between a tomato and potato."

*Elvis "Well, whatever they are, I think they make me sick.* *She says, starting to try the mashed tatos.*

[b]I wait to see her reaction to them. They should be okay. Even for someone who'd never eaten them in their life, it shouldn't bother her.[/b]

*She takes a bite and they actually taste somewhat bad.* *Elvis "Okay, these aren't terrible."

"Seriously, what is up with you and this kind of food? Try the steak. It's literally just a cow. Can't go wrong with a classic steak."
