Lance dropped it from the palm of his hand, but it didn't hit the floor before it disappeared into thin air. Let them track her to the middle of forest on the other side of the planet. He let the mask unfold finally, figuring it'd be better for her to see an actual human and not another guy in a mask. "I'm Lance." He says, a friendly and comforting smile on his face. A father's smile, not a fake one plastered on by people telling her things would be okay when they really wouldn't. https://imgur.com/a/fZl5P

  • She gave him a blank stare before her eyes slowly slid off to the side in a passive manner. "V-Vanille... She mumbled quietly, her voice still shaky from fear and exhaustion. She had quite the fragile sense about her, like the breeze might even cause her to shatter.

  • "It's nice to meet you Vanille." Lance says with a smile, having a seat on the foot of the bed towards her feet. Her passive, shifting manner reminded him of someone.. "Can you tell me why those men were chasing you Vanille?"

  • She shook her head quietly, her silence anything but ordinary. There was pain and fear behind it... A sense of agony, even. She didn't even look up to face Lance, shame and desolation behind her jewel like eyes... Whatever had happened to her was awful. Either she didn't know why they were chasing her... Or she didn't want to talk about.

  • "That's fine.. you don't have to tell me about it. If you want to, I'm here. The information would help a lot." Lance says with a gentle smile. He didn't mention the fact that the information would probably let him know who had been chasing her, nor did he mention the fact he'd killed five men to protect her. Whether she'd seen that or it, he had no idea.

"I don't know any names..." She said quietly, her body shaking slightly, from what seemed to be shock. She was suspended in her own thoughts. "But they come from the bad place... On the opposite end..." That didn't quite make sense, not meaning anything in particular... The girl was strange...

  • Lance wasn't entirely sure what to do, besides bandage up that cut. Physical wounds were easy.. "Is it okay if I bandage that cut for you Vanille?" He asks, not telling her that he would do it, rather, he asked. He had a bad feeling on what kind of treatment she'd been through.

  • She nodded simply, finally remembering the wound that was across her arm. She remembered the serial number that marked her as a mere object and scowled... But for now she assumed she was safe. If the man was going to do something, he would have done it by now. Slowly, she extended her arm towards Lance, the fair skin of her arm slightly red and puffy around the wound. It of corse had reacted negatively, but the most offsetting thing about it was the slowly sizzling noise that came from the wound opening. It sounded like the skin was frying... Maybe even searing together on its own...

  • She may have had a healing ability of her own, but Lance felt it better to wrap it up anyways. Even if it was to only show her he meant well. To her surprise, he waved a hand and with a snap of his wrist, a roll of black bandage appeared into his hand..had to be black. He didn't bother with disinfectant, His blades were always clean. He wrapped the roll around her wrist several times, hiding the cut and the serial number, and binding it with a piece of bandage tape. "There." He says with a grin, showing off two rows of perfect white teeth. "All better."

  • She wiggles her arm slightly, pulling the yellow sleeve back over it before shaking her leg. There had been a hole there earlier... She figured the man wasn't too bad... "Thank you..." She whispered, finally looking around at their surroundings, trying to get her bearings before she made a move... What she would do next... Where she would go... She didn't know... "Where are we...?" She eventually asked as she used her unwounded hand to rub her rosy red cheek.

  • "A place called the Dojo. Think of it like a massive hotel where people live, and also fight to become better warriors. We're in a spare room right now." Lance says, running his hand through his hair and shaking it out, the same lock falling over his face like ever. "It's a good place to stay, if you need one. Most people here are hospitable."

  • She looked up with her large eyes, scanning Lance's face for any cracks in what he said, making sure she could trust him. "Place to stay..." She repeated softly, her eyes swimming with misguided wariness. Something she had trained herself to appreciate...

  • "Yes, 100% free of charge." He says with a grin. His face showed nothing but trustworthiness, and some enigmatic qualities. Not bad ones, just like he was someone that you'd never know everything about. The way his eyes twinkled with some unknown emotion..yeah, he was an odd one.

  • "Oh... Good... I don't have money." Well... At least she was thinking about something else, even if it was the most bizarre thing to think about at that time. She gave her leg a good shake before setting down lightly in her ballet shoes, testing its strength, finding it mostly... Fine, despite its failure earlier. "Wow... Like magic..."

  • Lance outwardly cringed as he realized what Vanille reminded him of. Or who..rather. Belle, with the same shifting manner, quiet tone, dark hair and bright eyes.. but why was that? This girl could've passed for an eight year old Belle.. Lance was in that state of mind where he felt like he was on the edge of discovering something, but couldn't quite put his finger on it. And it was annoying the hell out of him. "What's like magic?" Lance questions, his head tilted slightly.

  • "My leg... It's fixed... Did you do that...?" She asked, her voice straightening out and her posture becoming more... Normal. In fact, her voice was something that had a certain charm to it. It was... Sweet... Like flowing honey... But it was also quiet like such a flow was hidden and protected. Perhaps she was just shy, or perhaps she was just... Like this.

  • "Yes, I did. The men that were chasing you shot you, so I brought you back here." He says with a half smile. What he didn't mention was what had happened to those men that were chasing her.. "It should only itch for the next couple hours, but there'll be no scar or make there." What did make Lance uneasy was how easily her attitude and demeanor had changed. It was like flipping a switch, but holding it between on and off. She wasn't bubbly, but she wasn't the scared little creature he'd met a few minutes ago.

  • "Oh... I see..." She lifted her head up and looked at her hands, the soft pink fingers extending like small tree branches. Then, she observed the bandage under her sleeve and the number it hid... "What do I do now...?" She asked, not really to anyone but herself... Almost as if she had forgotten that Lance was still there.

  • Lance realized the question was more her talking to herself than anything, but he still spoke up anyway. It wouldn't do for both of them to sit in silence. "Whatever it is you want to do. If you have any questions or need help, I'll always be around." He says with a friendly smile. "All you have to do is ask."

  • "Should I stay in this room...?" She asked with a shuffle of her black shoes, her hands folding together in front of her stomach like an obedient soldier or servant... Beyond that, it was a familiar motion... One very few made but one that the Aldon family was known for.
