The man was knocked back by the Soul Fire beam but managed to anchor himself to the ground as he was blown two meters back, stabbing the dense sword-breaker into the earth as his hat sailed backwards from the force of the psionic energy. The potshots were swiftly avoided by twisting and allowing them to hit his ceramic guards, but not before leaving a few good bruises due to their velocity. After the blast he gets up and looks around for Xavier. Not knowing that he's in his shadow, he produces a few cylindrical objects from beneath his coat and throw them all around him, creating a perimeter of about 6 objects in total around him and Xavier. He reloads his revolver before fanning the hammer and masterfully hitting each object laying on the ground with a .45 colt. Electromagnetic pulses are released from the EMP grenades destroyed by his bullets, disabling any electronics Xavier might have as he was caught in the radius. He quickly reloads different rounds in the gun and holsters it. The man's attention to detail and quick reaction time to anything proposed to him is what made him noteworthy. Something told Xavier that he wasn't a simple warrior who would ramp up his power until he beat his opponent by sheer strength. No. This was an observer and a thinker. He came prepared.
