Amaterasu Dojoville Pavilion, Midnight There were brisk steps as the small figure rounded the corner, sweat beating from her forehead as she gasped for air... Everything ached... Everything burned... Her lungs tore and writhed as she gasped for air. Her black hair clung to her head as the rain beat down... She pushed against the bodies of people, tripping them and causing them to stumble, some even cursing as she ran... Such a small child clearly didn't belong... She wanted to stop and just give in... But she knew what was waiting for her if she did... // "Target moving towards cafe... Stay on approach..." Five... Five figures sprinting across the courts, plowing through people and running across roofs as they moved in pursuit of their target, their red mechanical eyes bearing murderous intent... Their lithe bodies snaked through the crowded night streets in quick succession, intent on their target... Each one was well armed, four blades, stealth combat gear, rifle, and two handguns... The perfect team for hunting a dangerous girl...
https://i.imgur.com/me6Ze0c
One swerved and slammed into a strange blue being before continuing towards the sim room, another melding into the rain as his cloak engaged, another pushing towards the open crowds, the other two taking to the roofs once more... // She could feel her strength waning as she cut a corner, the tears streaming freely now, but no sobs escaping her... Not that you could tell in the onslaught of water... "Hey you!" No. Don't stop... "Hey! Why are you running?!" They were close. // One, two, one, two... They could see her now. Bright orange sweater and pink skirt... Small shoes, and bright blue eyes. One pulled his rifle and took aim, the silenced shot slamming into the back of her leg. // She fell, head hitting the ground with hard thud, her eyes flashing a dazzling purple for a mere second before she whimpered and stumbled back to her feet. Funny how survival could make pain vanish... She limped, limped as fast as she could into the back entrance of the closest building, a bar. She stumbled through the spotless kitchen, coating the tiled floors with mud, water, and blood... She quickly found a food cabinet and slipped inside, pulling her knees close as tears streamed down her red cheeks... Blood pulsed in her head and her lungs burned... They had seen her go in... They had seen her... "Hey!" Suddenly the doors swung open and a large man with an apron stared down at her, at first in anger, and then in shock. He had never seen a shivering, bleeding child with eyes full of fear. He quickly ran a hand across his shiny, sweat covered bald head. "Hey... It's okay... I won't hurt you. Just tell me what's goin-" And then in an instant, his eyes rolled back into his head as his blood sprayed across her, the black knife in his neck twisting until his life was snuffed out. And then... She screamed... She screamed with a newly invigorated power, her eyes clamping shut, turning puffy and red... They were here... They had found her... // The scream carried throughout the Dojo courts, a scream for help, as the bar filled with the sound of gunfire. People tried to flee as the five assassins open fired on all the patrons and cleared the building, returning to the girl hidden away like a cornered mouse, aiming their guns at her as her cries for help pierced the night air.
Open.
• Wolfe had heard the screams, not being far away, and soon, he had veered from his morning walk to investigate. Engaging his own cloaking systems, he took to the high ground without a sound. Climbing quickly up the side of a building, he maneuvered his way closer to the screams, remaining on the rooftops. Silent and invisible, he unsheathed his blade. Finally getting close enough the screams would have been ear-piercing to someone without hearing protection, he looked down to see the bar. He noticed quickly that there was a trail of blood, despite the rain. It had pooled in the small puddles out in front of the tavern. The door had been kicked open, and he could hear the shouting. He waited for a moment, interested in seeing if those causing the trouble were going to be brought out.

  • Lucky for Wolfe, his elevated position gave him a good side view of a large glass window which cracked and covered in blood... But it still gave away some movement. Inside were five, nano fiber mercs, covered head to toe in gel padding and stealth gear. They had strange custom bullpup rifles with suppressors and modified FMJs to account for the extra barrel length. Each one stood poised at a choke point, typical covering fashion. Two guarding the main entrance, behind upturned tables. One near the counter pulling his knife from the back of a dead waitress, another guarding the girl and the back entrance, and the last one near the window's watching for anything outside... They stayed rigid and mostly unmoving, as if waiting for something. Perhaps reinforcements? Unlikely... But two were in perfect positions to be picked off... It was too easy... Something was off.

  • With his positioning, he debated on going in, or perhaps drawing them out. They had someone inside, someone captured... Where they going to execute them? Were they protecting them? What was going on? Perhaps waiting would be more advantageous. At the same time, however, he didn't want to draw this out. He'd give it a moment, and wait.

  • Dojo security finally moved into position, but every time they tried to get close, they were met with heavy fire. These men must have had something to let them hear or see through the walls... Enough to keep immediate things at bay. If Wolfe was to go in, he'd need something to muffle his noise, and block their vision... And if he was to draw them out, it'd have to be quick and quiet. Soon, there were plenty of guards set up around the group, but none could get into the fortified building, and whatever they were protecting was just out of view... Things were just ready to boil over in one wrong move.

  • Damn it. The guards were the problem. Local authorities always made things an issue. If they could sense through the walls, he could attempt an EMP and a nine-banger. That would likely daze them long enough for an attack. Or, if he preferred his normal tactic, he could snipe them, but that ran the risk of accidentally killing the hostage. Option number one it was... Cloaking himself, he made sure to engage his scramblers and his dampeners, and he carefully maneuvered onto the roof of the building which was surrounded. Neither Dojo guard nor hostage-taker had seen or noticed him, so hopefully, he could pull this off.

  • The obliviously group marched around inside, causing the wood to creak and and walls shutter. Seemed the bar was old and rickety... But more so, these guys were cocky. They were highly trained, but they assumed they had the best vantage point. They never suspected an attack from above... They even would talk, their words inaudible, but there all the same. Whatever was going on, they were staring to put it into action. The race against the clock began.

  • On the roof, he rapidly began scanning for an opening that led down into the building, a skylight, a ventilation system, anything he could get two grenades in. The EMP would register from above, but he needed the nine-banger in the room. Gas was too risky, he did not want to harm the hostage, and if these men were smart, they had filtration units in place already. Once he found a point of entry, it was go time.

  • There was an old ventilation system... Metal and rusted with steam pumping out... It look like it lead to the kitchen... And then there was a sky shutter towards the back... Light pushing through the small window. A person wouldn't fit, but a grenade sure as hell would... Meanwhile, the gunfire below had stopped and the five men had begun to shift in position. One took the job of putting metal shutters over the window, the two near the entrance putting satchel charges down, and the other two had begun patrolling the whole building.

  • Unclipping an EMP grenade, he dropped it down the vent. The small device went off with a low pulse, and almost instantly, the electronics on each man, and those of any traps they had set up, were fried, so long as nothing was hardened too heavily. Mainly, he was worried about the explosives, no need for more innocents dead. With them disabled, and the targets blind, he could move in relatively safely.

  • There was a shuffling of feet, a few shots fired, and then shouting. It sounded... Not good. But Wolfe now had an opening, one that was clicking down in seconds. But beyond that, now had five paranoid assassins down there with a hostage, five that were still well armed...

  • The next step was where things got complicated. He'd have to successfully get two nine-bangers in the building, these men were too spread out for only one. Cautiously, he unclipped two from his belt, on in each hand. The first was tossed down the vent, the second, he rushed towards the front and threw directly in the doorway, angling the throw from the roof, which wasn't all that hard. From his position, he knew now that he only had so long to act while they were totally disoriented. Jumping down from the roof, he entered through the front doorway, drawing his sword, and remaining cloaked.

  • Inside the mercs were busy trying to readjust their helmets and fix their hearing. Everything rang and hummed, and their heads swirled with horrible sensations. One went so far as to pull away his helmet, revealing something beyond disturbing... A solid white, chalk white, being with no face, no hair, no ears... Nothing... He was void of all features... Just a bald head and pale, smooth skin. Another lifted his rifle and fired in all directions in an attempt to remain safe from the oncoming threat... The other three stood poised wiping fingers across the glass of their red sensors... Panic had begun to set in...

Panic was what he wanted. It made men sloppy. For the invisible killer, however, instinct and training kicked in. Remaining cloaked, he swiftly ran one through, his blade's tytritium edge cutting through his armor and flesh like a plasma cutter. Shoving the corpse aside, he rushed the next, who was blindly firing. His rounds plinked off of Wolfe's armor, doing no serious damage. The Vengeful Son removed the assailant's arm in one swing, and slit the man's throat open with another. Moving on, he continued his assault, catching the next with a fist to the face. Knocking the man back, he crushed the man's ribcage with his boot. Two remained. Fully rounding the corner to see them both, he drew the revolver on his left hip and fired twice in rapid succession, each shot connecting with the head of a target, the .44 magnum copper-jacketed rounds shearing much of their heads off. Now to find the hostage...

  • As the bodies began to lay still, blood pooling from each one, a slight shuffle came from a food cabinet, towards the back entrance. It was a brief and spastic movement, not something normal people made... At least it seemed that way. Even hostages didn't twitch slightly then fall still for no good reason.

  • Remaining cloaked, the sound of his armor dampened as well, he entered the kitchen, scanning for any potential enemies and holstering his revolver. If the hostage was here and there was an enemy, it was best not to deafen them for the time being. Besides, his blade was more than enough.

  • There was a slight whimper as a fed light flashed across the reflective tiles, followed by a high pitched beep. There were seconds now... Perhaps a bomb? It was impossible to tell, but it was a risk... And the only sign of the hostage was the blood trail that was separate from the blood of the soldiers, and even then, it led to the noise and light.

  • A chance he was willing to take. The whimpering sounded too much like a child to be a threat, but Wolfe knew that occasionally children were used as weapons, because nobody suspected it. Taking the chance anyway, he opened the cabinet.

  • Inside was a generally unappealing sight. A young girl with skin unnaturally pale, a deep gash along the left side of her forehead that seeped a gentle trickle of blood, and a hole in her leg much to big for its own good. Blood loss, shock, and fatigue had knocked her out... Her eyes were pressed tight together and her body was huddled in the far back corner of the cabinet. But the beeping... The flashing... It was still present, and it was coming from her arm... Her left arm to be precise, flashing right under the yellow sleeve of her sweatshirt... Such a harsh ordeal for a girl that looked only about nine or ten.

  • He mumbled something under his breath, and gently reached in for her, sliding an arm under her knees and another under her back. Pulling her out gently, he made his way out of he building, quickly. She needed medical attention beyond what he could do. Gauze and tape were only temporary, and the bullet wound was most certainly in need of cleaning and stitches. Her head wound was rather serious as well.

  • She offered no resistance, nothing but a soft noise and slight shiver... And the beeping... It only persisted. But problems were increasing. Security couldn't tell Wolfe apart from the assassins, and they offered him gunfire the second he tried to leave... On top of it, the distant approach of rotors and helicopter blades signaled something much more difficult then five armed men on approach to the area... Then it made sense. The girl wasn't armed with a bomb... She was most likely chipped.

  • Quickly, Wolfe cloaked himself, and teleported away from the men shooting at him. He was not going to harm these men. Knowing that a helo was en-route, Wolfe went to the safest place he could think of: Wilson. Appearing behind the Courier, Wolfe looked to Wilson and shouted. I got a helo tracking me. Kill the damn thing, I need to do something. Wilson stared back confused. What the f*ck did you get into? Don't worry about it. Wolfe began rapidly trying to think of a way to kill the tracker without cutting it out. The girl had lost too much blood already, and cutting it out would likely kill her. Laying her down gently in the grass, he began wrapping her leg and her head. Once that had been done, he took a final EMP grenade from his belt, and primed it after setting it some twenty feet back from the girl, he himself backing away. Hopefully, the detonation of the EMP would fry the tracker, and then he could worry about moving her to a medical facility.

  • Luckily, the EMP fired the tracker quickly, but the hind had a location. And that was all it took. Minutes... It was minutes until the rotors blasted into hearing range... Then... another set... And another. Three whole choppers, each glinting in the lowlight as they made their approach, much to big to be modern choppers. More like thick jets with blades... And more guns than a tank... Things were about to get messy.

  • Wolfe scanned the sky, cursing quietly to himself. You're going to hate me for this. Picking up the girl, he disappeared, leaving Wilson to fend off the helicopters. YOU F*CKING C*NT he shouted, clearly more than upset. His M134D-H, however, swung to aim at the Hind's tail rotor, the easiest way to take it down. Unleashing a stream of armor-piercing tungsten-core 7.62x51mm rounds, the weapon was clearly strong enough to take on enemy helicopters. For those that were more heavily armored, perhaps he'd have to be creative.

  • The three vehicles began to swerve to avoid bullets, only one really taking a massive beating as the other two began to unload long streaks of mercury infused shells... These bullets were more like long thin sheets... But they let off a haze of silver, and a mere strike could cause immense mental damage... Between that and a sudden release of two missiles, they weren't going to go down without a fight.

  • As everything came towards the Courier, he kneeled, his shields flaring powerfully as the rounds, smoke, and flame engulfed him. Once everything had cleared, the Courier stood up, his shield breaking with a massively powerful pulse, the energy enough to liquefy a man's innards, and fry most systems. The output was immense, the concussive and energy waves clearly clearly visible.
