Not your necklace, is it? [i]he flopped back, now assuming she was no longer going to use his lap as a footrest or that she wanted a massage.[/i] Kyr's? [i]He wasn't sure if he was pushing it, but he figured that he'd wait and see how she reacted.[/i]

"Mmhm." [i] She said quietly, twisting the stars around on their chain. [/i] "She bought it with money I made from killing Annihilation. It cost a fortune, made of some kind of metal where there's only a certain.." [i] She waves a hand.[/i] "You get the idea."

[i]And that was his sign to ask no further. His reply was terse in his normal manner.[/i] Uh-huh. [i]He was silent, looking to the ceiling, thinking.[/i]

Meanwhile, Wilson had decided that there were better things to do than watch relationship sh*t, and he left.[/i] So... why so friendly all of the sudden? I remember first meeting you and you were consistently pissy about everything.

"That was also nearly half a year ago.." [i] She said, trailing off slightly.[/i] "I guess with Kyr dead, I don't have much to be mad at anymore. Or much reason to." "I can go back to being pissy if you'd like." [i] She says with a chuckle.[/i]

"You said Crow gave you some time off, but you didn't say what you were doing with it." [i] She says with a shrug. [/i]

I went home for a while, relaxed for a while. Felt good being a normal human being for a while. I just sorta hung around the hometown, did enough traveling. [i]he answered, honestly.[/i]

[i] She nods, poking him in the ribs.[/i] "Your turn. This feels like grade school playing 20 questions." [i] She seems to think for a second.[/i] "Oh wait, I didn't go to school. I killed people." [i] She says, a chuckle escaping her lips as she makes fun of herself.[/i]

Yeah. I believe you told me about them. [i]If she had noticed, she hadn't said anything about his reflex that, had he had a knife, likely would have wounded her.[/i]

[i] She nods. [/i] "Lodestone, Conflux, and Steelheart. Three of the most powerful people on that planet, and they're dead. They didn't leave me without parting gifts though." [i] She smiles wryly, lifting up her shirt to reveal her stomach, which was wrapped in bandages. She rolls her shorts leg up, where blood soaked bandages were wrapped.[/i]

Christ... how well was any of that treated? [i]He had shot up, and his expression was concerned. She had been wounded seriously, and seeing her like that wasn't something he was too comfortable with.[/i]

"Someone with a healing power did it. They're all good." [i] She turns slightly, lifting up her shirt to reveal her back where three large knife healing wounds were, just below her bra strap. They were healing, but they still looked nasty. What the hell were these three guys capable of? [/i]

You're positive? I can get you back to Hereford for treatment from Clarkson's medical personnel... [i]The more he saw, the more it pained him internally. He knew she was tough, but this was brutal. It was almost infuriating, but he knew that getting angry meant nothing.[/i]

Conflux had control over electricity, self generating and manipulating existing electricity. And Steelheart was the leader. People had been trying to kill him for twenty years. Able to turn anything to steel, shoot concussive energy blasts from his hands, fly, and quite literally invincible." [i] Obviously he wasn't too invincible. [/i]
