TLDR; at the down below.
My buddy recently switched from Xbox 360 to PS4, his girlfriend bought him a physical copy of Destiny the Collection for his birthday. So over he past few days we've been playing through the campaign to level him up, on Saturday we got up to the beginning of The Dark Below. We played the first mission without a problem, after starting the second mission he was hit with an error code and booted from the game to the PS4's main menu. He booted up Destiny, I backed out and joined him in Orbit, only now the content was listed as unavailable to him, which was odd considering he was literally just playing it. He closes the application, re-opens it and encounters the same problem. Running out of ideas I tell him to download the reinstall the game. He uninstalls it and re-downloads everything, after it finishes several hours later, he is still unable to access content which he owns. Can anyone provide some help?
TLDR; friend came from Xbox360 to PS4, purchased physical copy of the collection, played campaign up to Dark Below's 2nd mission, got booted due to error, told content is now unavailable, tried troubleshooting (close app, shut down PS4, reinstall game) and nothing worked, please help.

If they have re-installed, have them try restoring licenses once: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12181 There are small files necessary to license the DLC's. Your buddy needs to be signed in with the same PSN ID that originally redeemed the codes that came with the game. If they have multiple PSN ID's and redeemed the codes with a different account, they should look at their 'primary' console setting. Also check that their PSN plus subscription is current. For PS4, PS+ is required for some activities. If that doesn't help, it may be best to contact PSN support next. Sony is the retailer for digital purchases (code redemption from a physical version is considered 'digital' in that context), and they maintain PSN ID's and their purchase history. Ask them to verify the codes show on their PSN ID, and then what they need to download to license their stuff.
