Hey guys, Analytical Ghost here.
When you hear the title "Iron Wolves" what does it make you think?
I've been seeing people believing that the second wave of Iron Lords introduced in ttk are called "Iron Wolves". This is only half true. Even though it was common knowledge in ttk, not anymore. Things change.
Using this logic, you can call Saladin, Jolder, Perun, etc, an Iron Wolf. The term "Iron Wolf" is a term used by the Warlords to mention the Iron Lords.
My proof is in "Iron Lords: Lady Perun", in which the mayor of the settlement calls the iron lords "Wolves". We see why later when Segoth, the Warlord who controls the area, comes through the path and is confronted by the lords.
“Well, well,” said Segoth. “The Iron Wolves.”
“Cease your insults,” Saladin barked
Perun shot him a surprised look. “That’s an insult? I kinda like ‘Wolves.’”
Segoth in the quotation above used "Wolves" as an insult, even slur, against the Iron Lords. Perun, on the other hand, likes the name. Thus why Wolves are used to decorate the iron banner.
So technically, yes the second wave Iron Lords are "Wolves", but so is Saladin and Efrideet. Even your character. I, honestly, like to describe the second waves as "Iron Wolves", but if I do I'll make sure to detail correctly. Heck, I might even call them second waves. Also, take a look at every one of the Iron Lords Siva fragments. They detail the deaths of "Wolves" yet are named "Iron Lords". Using common sense, this is my final proof.
To conclude, I will disprove certain "theories" that I have seen that are incorrect.
Iron Wolves (or Lords) are not actual wolves. You might have seen the prelude cutscene and read the grimiore that describes it where it goes into detail about the wolves behind him, but connecting that to things that happened centuries ago isn't logical. My proof to show that people like Colovance, Finnala, Tormod, etc, weren't actual wolves is this.
"Dormant Siva: Iron Lords 2.4" describes how Finnala does not fear death, as stated here:
Finnala always says she doesn’t mind dying, because it doesn’t last. A few seconds and then the Light comes, bright and warm. And she rises again.
Notice this: "then the Light comes, bright and warm. And she rises again." This is proof that Finnala, a second wave Iron Lord (or Wolf) is most definitely a guardian, because nothing else can be revived with the light like this. The fallen might be able to collect souls and revive their fallen allies, but that doesn't mean anything. That is darkness, not light.
Secondly, no Lords survived except for Saladin and Efrideet. Theories that are unprovable like "Some of the Wolves could be alive" is terrible logic. Just because we have no mention on every death of the Iron Wolves (or Lords), doesn't mean they are still alive. There were 100 Iron Lords, evident from the cutscene in which Saladin details this. To quote:
100 lords set out to contain Siva. Only 9 made it to the Replication Chamber
Seeing this, you know that 91 of them died before the actual chamber. And 1 was not present during the battle, Efrideet. You could argue that we don't have statues of them, or artifacts, but look in the Dormant Siva cards. We have detail of random, unnamed Iron Lords dying, and some Iron Wolves (or Lords). Using this sample size, we can assume that they all died, with Saladin as a witness.
