Looking up at the strange creature, Zach jumped back slightly, yelping in surprise. After a moment's analyzation, he calmed down, looking at the cat creature, unsmiling. It was clear that Zach was rather harsh on himself, even if he won. "Messed up a couple times," He said, his voice hoarse and ragged. "Like when he parried me like that, I was made a fool of." Zach sighed, rubbing his temples as he replayed the entire fight in his mind's eye. He wasn't a pessimist, but when it came to these sort of things he liked to halfheartedly acknowledge what he did well but focus on what he did poorly.

 • "Yeah..." He said as the dude yelped and looked back as he shook his head. A smile on his face but not really angry as he did so. His eyes gazing into his as he paused thinking to himself. "I can get being hard on yourself to get better. Just don't be too hard on yourself, my mom.." He stopped as he said those words as if he was going to be smacked he flinched. His eyes gazing down as he shook his head pausing. "Uh...the elder of my village taught me that we all grow through our mistakes. So we should honor them not hate them."

 • Zach had heard all these words a hundred times before, and sighed, nodding impatiently. Inwardly, he wondered what the cat creature was going to say, but refrained from asking; if he wanted to talk about it, he would. So, instead, he asked a different question: "What's your name?" Zach inquired, crossing his arms together as his left hand's fingers began rapidly tapping on his right arm, fingering a violin piece. "Mine's Zachary, or Zach."

 • "I'm Axel...or some call me the soul keeper your choice on that one.." He says as he notices the violin his ears perking up at the sound. A smile on his face as he sighed thinking to himself seeming lost in thought as he shakes his head. "So you play instruments as well huh...?"

 • "Hm?" Zach had a confused expression on his face, then blinked, looking down at what he was doing. "Oh, that. Yeah, I play violin; fingering pieces is a habit for me, I do it all the time." Zach shrugged, looking back at Axel. "Well? Are you in the mood to duel?" He asked, eager for another chance to test his skill; he was a competitive guy, and if he won, he'd always be looking for ways to improve, and if he lost... well, he'd beat himself up before beginning to train vigorously for a few hours.

 • Axel paused as Zach saw the pupil in his right eye break apart and become a runic symbol. Looking at the man in front of him as he paused crossing his arms curious. "You sure you want to duel....I'm not like most.." His stance shifted as he said this. His hands now hovering over the two blades that were at his side as he smiled.

 • "Haven't fought anything supernatural before," Zach stated truthfully, drawing his New Magnesium short sword, gripping it tightly with both his ambidextrous hands, his bright blue eyes staring at Axel's chest; if he did that, he could read his body language, and react accordingly.

 • "Oh is that so huh..." Axel drew his short swords one a white and gray metal in his left hand the other a black metal. As he smiled swinging at Zach his right hand short sword making a quick slashing motion at his chest. "Let's fix that shall we?"

 • His expression stony, Zach back stepped the slash, the tip of the blade passing his chest by inches. Zach lunged, teeth grit together in concentration. Now, finally in action, Zach did not think—only acted. And so, the man aimed a low yet powerful thrust with his sword, two hands pushing the blade forward, towards the space between Axel's ribcage.

 • He smiles as he watches the movement forward. His hand seeming to blur with the speed that it now has as his left short sword blocks the blow. The white metal shimmering in the sun light. Moving backwards after blocking it's a leap he twirls the blades around changing stances. Before a basic dual wielding stance now he stands with his left blade in a more defensive position and his right in a more offensive one.

 • Relentless, Zach rushed forwards again, determined to keep Axel on the defensive. Aggressive, unrelenting, and leaving no space for mistakes, Zach sped up, lifting his sword above his left shoulder as he brought it downwards diagonally from his top left to his bottom right with all the force he could muster. He wasn't any ancient warrior or master swordsman, but he was a decent swordsman and an even better improviser.

 • He paused as he moved to the side the blade cutting part of his leg as his eyes narrowed. Blood coming down it as lowered his body spinning as he slashed upwards at the man with both swords. Making sure the blow wouldn't be lethal but could hurt as he did so. A very clear smile on his face as he did this.

 • Blue eyes widening, his reaction time wasn't fast enough to block or parry the attack, and only barely backpedaled enough to avoid too deep of a cut; however the two blades made a long gash in his left arm, as Zach grit his teeth in an attempt to focus. After being struck, he fell back, glancing briefly at his wound, before getting his head back in the duel as he readied his sword once again, determined to do well in this duel.

 • He smiled as he flicked the blood off his blades. Beginning to circle him now as he did so his eyes watching his movement as if too wait for him to make a move. "Your pretty good that hit to my leg stung." He said as he smiled chuckling his eyes gazing into zachs. Shaking his head as his fur shook around as he kept his stance.

 • The moment Axel took a single step, Zach made a mad dash forward, his toes pounding into the ground and sending dust and dirt into the air as he accelerated to his top speed of twenty three miles an hour, then, a foot away from Axel he suddenly slowed, showing the agility of somebody who had been working at it most of their life. His right foot right below Axel's right shoulder, he aimed a slash toward Axel's gut; either it hit and be Zach's success, or Axel struck him and it be a failure.

 • He looked at the blade as it cut through part of his chest surprised at the speed. Blood coming off as he moved preventing it from going to much farther. Blood coming off of him as he panted looking at him wincing slightly. "Ow jeez....didn't see that coming there..."

 • Zach pulled back, using his left, gloved hand to wipe off the blood on his shiny, silver sword, to avoid rusting. He sheathed it, extending his right hand, and faking a perfect smile once more. "Well fought; enlightened me a little as for what I have to work on." He said honestly, as Zachary wasn't one to lie about things like this.

 • He thinks as he places his blades back in their sheathes. His eyes looking at Zach as he taps his foot thinking to himself a bit. "Well...maybe while staying aggressive don't leave yourself so open. You cut me a few times and that's great. However in real combat people could take advantage of that and really hurt you."

 • Zachary looked over at Axel, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Did I not just say that I know what I have to work on?" He said rhetorically; he disliked it when people told him things he already knew, and while he knew that they were only trying to help, Zach didn't particularly care. It's what they get for trying to help somebody like me, He thought to himself, looking away from Axel.

 • "Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend I seem to have miss understood what you meant..." He said as his ears drooped his tail going between his legs as he looked around sighing slightly. "Sorry Zach..."

 • Zach wasn't one to take pity, to feel sorry for people, and so he for the most part ignored Axel's sad appearance. "Yeah, whatever," He said impatiently, waving Axel's apology away.

 • "Alright don't accept it then?" He seemed confused and a little upset but shrugged it off as he walked away. His tail twitching showing a much more irritated reaction as he moved away. He wasn't the best at apologizing, hell it was hard of him to do so and he had been working on it. So this royally upset him when someone can't even accept it.

 • "There's no point in feeling sorry," Zach said, turning away. "Wastes time." He learned this the hard way, year after year. And so, Zach began to walk away, sheathing his straight sword at his left side.

 • He went to say something as he shook his head. There was no point in arguing the fight was over it was no longer required for him to stay anyways as he began to leave in the other direction.
end?
