Alon smiled, nodding sadly. It was clear he didn't have fond memories of it, yet who did? A mercenary, humanitarian, whatever you want to call it. I worked for my own interest, though, not the money; out of my own good heart, if I'm able to say such things. Fiddling with the bottoms of his shirt lightly, Jack noticed his apparel in contrast to the temperatures; to be in such clothing in below zero temperatures for so long was insane, let alone, his skin not showing any sign of discomfort and not seeming cold at all. Hell, his visor showed his body temps at average; albeit, quite a bit higher, but relatively stable. I've fought with militia's, armies, crews, squads, teams, organizations, nations, people, you name it I've fought for it. Although, it's never lasted long. It's always a war; and someone always dies. Scanning over the man's face, analyzing him, he smiled lightly and nodded so as not to seem rude. He really did look... dead. Alive, yet dead. A nation, you say? What is this nation you speak of? I wonder if I've visited...

 • "Probably not, though it's the New Terran Republic, AKA the only group in the Galactic Union to have been -blam!-ed with enough times to be destroyed. Yet, we stand tall." Treyman's words came with a tone, one that made him sound proud of his people, if not a bit overly so. On top of somehow surviving at least four major wars in its lifetime, it was also home to many great warriors like Treyman and... Well, just him, the rest are either mercenaries looking for fortune or dead, like most of his old Alamo crew was. "Hell, we've had visitors ranging from Geneshits to robot destroyer races. Somehow we lived." The "Geneshit" was also the creator of the project, and the reason behind Jack's survival in the first place. The robot destroyers were the Sol Collective and the unit that trifled with the Republic, which was ended in the Battle of New Mexico, in Republic history. All in all they've seen some threats that, altogether, would overwhelm the Empire if they were to take them all on. Though even in times of desperation and weakness did the Republic thrive.

 • The New Terran Republic, you say? NTR? I've visited once; twas only a brief visit at that. I wasn't necessarily certain of the situations going on around that reality, so I left hastily in pursuit of other leads. Though, as a leader, I admire your sense of duty. To put yourself at the forefront of your nation is a brave thing to do. Alon loosened up a bit more, smiling to the man. The NTR's thriving determination reminded him of New Terra, Golden City. Though he faced many things there, Alon could only wonder what Jack had seen. It intrigued him, his curiousity settling in as he looked the figure over in all his weapons and armour. Saying he was prepared would be an understatement by the looks of it. Though, no matter how hard Jack looked, he couldn't find any more info on the mage; only tales of him working alongside "Legends" as people called them now... Exalin Crew, Luis "Cobalt Phoenix" Franco, the old Dojo and their threats as well. All things that were dead and gone, now. Being in his presence felt like being in front of history, and Alon felt the same. The founder in front of the mage made Alon feel pride for a place that wasn't even his. What brings you to such a place as the Dojo, though? The convergence of so many powers... I can only speculate the trouble that will ensue... The mage slipped into deep thought, looking away for a moment as he did. If he'd learned one thing, it was that history repeated itself; and although Jack may not have known, the Dojo had already fallen once. And the mage was worried for his home as much as the soldier was for his nation.

 • Treyman internally debated answering the question of the archmage as it would reveal a key bit of information of him, which he kept as a secret from most people, that secret being his Genesis augmentations as it was intended to be an ace up the sleeve as a last resort in case things went south. And so his words were only half truthful as to why he was here, seeing as he cut out a large part off the information. "A friend here needed my expertise and knowledge on the Empire, as I raided one of their old ships maybe three months ago." Treyman didn't lie, as he did raid the Axion after the Genesis Program and the rest of the Empire dispersed into nothingness, and he got quite a lot of information on them. What he didn't say was that he had their database quite literally implanted in his mind.
