I think that any living ahamkara would reside within assuming the traveler isn't a living being and in fact some sort of ship from what I've read in the books of sorrow the darkness uses the deep as it's traveler and the worms as their messengers in the same way the light or sky uses the traveler and the ahamkara are its messengers and I believe that the darkness and light are two omnipotent beings playing a game for control of the universe the darkness is currently winning
