[i]Dojo Courtyard // 1200 hours // Just a runic mage
Alyssa was in a particularly good mood.
While she never said why she was so, she never could conceal her emotions very well. It was obvious that the twenty-three year old was lovestruck, and even a child could figure that out. As she strolled into the courtyard with a bounce in her step, she looked around, smiling like a madwoman. Her brown, shoulder length hair was tied back in its usual, tight ponytail, her thick glasses reinforced with extra duct tape. She wore what she always wore; a pair of faded blue skinny jeans, and a loose, white, button-up shirt. She pulled a simple, three foot long, metallic longsword from a bin in the corner of the courtyard, a training sword. Swordplay had always interested her, and she decided that now she was a member at this "dojo", she should finally try it out. Of course she was open to do other forms of training and studying, however.[/i]

"Yeah actually." Long. Fúcking. Story. And so a flying steam train crashed through the gates of the Dojo as a deep laughter came from the conductor, and a purple miasma launched from the spot where smoke vented.

[i]Alyssa blinked, shocked that he legitimately had access to a flying steam train.[/i] "M-may I see it?" [i]She stuttered, her dreams coming true at last. A flying steam train.[/i]

"Go ahead." ((You control it and how it looks now))

[i]Chugging through midair, behind Alyssa, was a steam train with a green, black, and gold color scheme, smoke billowing out of its chimney thing at the front ((stupid train terminology.)). It landed smoothly besides Alyssa, who's jaw dropped in awe.[/i] "Choo, choo," [i]Alyssa said playfully, climbing into the steam train.[/i]

"A sword, some training and a magic train, what more could a woman ask for, eh?" Treyman smiled when he looked to the train and took a few steps back, though that quickly became him slowly walking away as he turned around.

[i]Alyssa waved goodbye to Treyman, grinning wildly.[/i] "See ya around!" [i]She called out, genuinely hoping that she'd see Treyman again, for maybe another round of sparring, or a train ride.[/i]

*Sketch walks up. Waving one of his katana so around lazily.* "Hey, you're Alyssa aren't you? I've been meaning to come find you... My name's Sketch." *He holds out his hand for her to shake.* [spoiler]Good b@$&% time...[/spoiler]

I see you have a long sword, are you planning on learning swordsmanship?" *He points to the sword which she had pulled out of the bin.* [spoiler]I said it because Orn's trying to have Irina ruin Alyssa, I'm going to have Sketch try to counteract that. With a character as manipulatable as Alyssa, you can't just leave her alone to be influenced by one person, there has to be competition![/spoiler]

"Yeah, I'm excited!" [i]Alyssa exclaims, looking at the weak sword with excitement in her bright green eyes. She tried picking up it up, however it was with her non dominant hand, her left, seeing as her right hand was just a stump.[/i]

And you generally use your other arm to keep balance while swinging a sword... I can heal your arm. If you want of course. Or we can just go ahead and start training."

[i]Alyssa stepped forward, swinging the sword with her left arm horizontally from left to right. The slash was extremely weak, and at best would only make a small cut in flesh.[/i]

"Hmm... Keep going... Now, I'll go ahead and just give you some ground rules... Never, EVER go into a fight expecting to kill someone. Even if you've been sent to do it. Only kill them if you know that they are evil." *He holds the sword steady as she keeps slashing at it.*

[i]Alyssa aimed another slash the same direction, and a contributing factor to her weak blows was the fact that she was only using her non dominant hand. She kept whacking at the sword the same way, again and again.[/i]

"Okay, you can stop now. The fact that your left hand isn't dominant is clearly a problem... Go ahead and put that sword back and try mine. It's much lighter but also extremely sharp, so be careful."

[i]Alyssa nodded, throwing the sword aside as she reached for Sketch's, holding her hand out to take it.[/i] ((Sorry 'bout short reply.))

(It's fine.) *He hands it to her. She can feel it's about half as heavy as the practice sword and is very easy to swing. Sketch summons another one, holding it in his other hand.* "I'll yet you keep that one for practice if you want... I'll still control when it controls air so you don't have to worry about blowing anyone's house down..."

"Cool!" [i]Alyssa exclaimed, swinging the blade around with much more ease. Now, even though it was in her non dominant hand, she could hit something hard enough to maybe dent it, and cut through flesh.[/i]

"See? Much better right?" *He holds up his sword.* "Now try swinging it."

[i]Alyssa swung it at Sketch's sword, although it still wasn't strong enough to knock it aside anywhere.[/i]

"Much better... You still need practice swinging though so you can get stronger with your left hand... Let's try swinging up and down now..." *He turns to the side, holding his sword straight out with both hands.*
