Dojo Courtyard // 1200 hours // Just a runic mage Alyssa was in a particularly good mood. While she never said why she was so, she never could conceal her emotions very well. It was obvious that the twenty-three year old was lovestruck, and even a child could figure that out. As she strolled into the courtyard with a bounce in her step, she looked around, smiling like a madwoman. Her brown, shoulder length hair was tied back in its usual, tight ponytail, her thick glasses reinforced with extra duct tape. She wore what she always wore; a pair of faded blue skinny jeans, and a loose, white, button-up shirt. She pulled a simple, three foot long, metallic longsword from a bin in the corner of the courtyard, a training sword. Swordplay had always interested her, and she decided that now she was a member at this "dojo", she should finally try it out. Of course she was open to do other forms of training and studying, however. ((Open, short post. Socialization, or training. Whichever.))

  •
My grandparent's summer home is in Shang Hai. Hm.
Alyssa nodded, smiling, and Xavier's eyes were directed to the gunmetal gray prosthetic on her right arm (because I didn't describe it), made of New Magnesium—strong as titanium, light as a feather—with an Assassin's Creed style hidden hardlight blade augment installed in it. She gripped the training sword tightly with two hands, and it appeared that now, with two hands, she'd be able to swing hard and fast, yet not necessarily skillfully.

  • Xavier studied her augs. When did she get those...? "Not to pry, but... When did your arm get removed?"

  • "A few days ago...." She murmured, averting her gaze. She had quite the story behind it, but it was too personal for her to share with anybody she didn't know.

  • "Oh... I see." He decided not to pry any further, because this could have gotten edgy as FUK. "So, you should test out that new arm of yours. Just so that you can used to it."

  • "Yeah," Alyssa said, flexing her robotic fingers. "Not used to combat. Wanna spar?"

"Sure." He takes out his plasma-edged sword, which was slightly shorter than Alyssa's. "So, do you wanna go first? Or..."

  • Alyssa readied her newly-earned, three foot long HardLight sword, its blade an inch and a half thick. The transparent HardLight was a golden-yellow, and razor-sharp. She nodded at Xavier, telling him to go first.

  • Xavier took a deep breath, putting his right foot forward. He crouched a bit low, before rushing at her and slashing at her downwards, a red and yellow neon trail following the blade's motion.

  • Alyssa lifted her sword as she read Xavier's body language, her hands raising the grip above her left shoulder, the tip of the HardLight blade pointing at his chest. Xavier's blade struck the upper edge of the HardLight sword, and Alyssa used that momentum to loosen her arms and redirect his downward slash, the tip of his blade ending up in the dirt as Alyssa redirected it to her right. Alyssa aimed a low, powerful thrust with her sword at Xavier's gut, executing a perfect parry.

Xavier quickly lifted the blade back up, the blade batting the thrust away just as Alyssa's blade made a small cut on Xavier's chest. When Alyssa's blade was deflected upwards, he kicked her back and took a few steps back. He then started to rush again, but he suddenly stops for no reason. "Okay, no. I'm bored."

  • "Same," Alyssa said, yawning slightly. She sheathed her HardLight sword, blinking. "So. How's life?"

  • "Weapon schematic? Better not be guns. I'm trash with guns," Alyssa admitted, sighing.

  • "It's something about an axe. There's two of them, which you carry around on your back and you can throw one of them. It's pretty easy to return the throwable axe, since it has a grip that can register your fingerprints and it just comes back with the flick of a wrist."
...That is non-canon. And that's because you're bored. Well, gotta wait until you got your creativity again. For now, just chatting between characters. One liners, too. Gonna edit my post to fit.
• "Bladesmen," a voice said from behind the woman, though it was not the Texan voice of the cowboy or the Vegas-sounding voice of his daughter, rather the accent carried by this man's words had a Canadian tone to them as he spoke fluently, which was quite ironic considering exactly who was speaking to the woman in question. "The single unit that can do the most damage on a field."

  • Alyssa turned, looking at whoever had spoken, thinking that they were probably a skilled swordsman from the way they spoke. She was looking for a skilled swordsman; somebody that maybe could take her on as a pupil, for she only wished she could do more than draw circles.

  • He who was there, was not man nor machine, but a relic of an era long forgotten. The figure bore a tiger-striped cloak atop an extremely well built body, though it was concealed by the frame of what appeared to be an exoskeleton suit beneath it. He had a variety of weapons on his back including a sniper, assault rifle, and three hilts for weapons on him, though the most distinct feature he possessed was the completely orange mask he bore, which had one black dot where the eye would normally be, and a red dot on the right eye of his. This was Treyman. "Yeah, you a bladesman?"

  • "I'm training to be one," Alyssa replied, looking Treyman over. To her, Treyman looked like a walking armory, loaded to the brim with weaponry Alyssa only dreamed of affording. She absentmindedly rubbed her light, olive skin, admittedly a little weirded out by his radical appearance; she'd never before seen an exoskeleton, neither has she seen a mask like the one Treyman bore.

  • The figure grinned a tad bit as he saw that the woman was a tiny bit weirded out by his appearance, as that showed the telltale signs of her being an average human being who reacts logically to things, unlike a majority of people the Damned General had met. And so he grasped one of the two black hilts at his side as the silver shoto hilt for a lightsaber in the middle was left with just one more hilt for a weapon that matched the one he held, and he activated it, though a light yellow blade of hard light appeared from the hilt this time instead. He tossed it to the floor in front of the woman, and her grasped his own HardLight sword in his hand, for he did not dare to bust out his AntiMatter Katana. "Let's spar, oh training one."

  • Alyssa gulped, grasping the HardLight blade, feeling it and lifting it, seeing how much it weighed. She was able to tell that Treyman would beat her in seconds; milliseconds, even. She, unlike many, knew her skill level; jack shit. However that was why she was training, to get better. To be able to fend for herself, to he able to annihilate those that would harm her and those she cared for. She pulled her left foot back behind and to the left of her right, grasping the HardLight blade with her non dominant hand, her left hand, while she lifted the stump of her right hand in front of her, between she and Treyman. She took a deep breath, and nodded at the man, giving him the first move. A mistake she recognized the moment she made it.

  •
Let's just assume this is after augmenting Alyssa, as it would be easier for training's sake.
One swift dash was all it took for the man of skill to get close. He dashed forwards as he closed the gap between either of the combatants all the while he activated the blade, and he placed it just up against the throat of the woman. He stopped though, for he didn't intend to decapitate.
