Alon felt her edgy aura slice through his calm demeanour and suddenly he didn't know what to do. He'd witnessed this as a child; but never had he had the guts to approach the women and help her, especially at the ripe age of 8. What could he have done? Feeling her stare, he slowly raised his hand to the air in front of her. The simple action was deliberately slow as his index finger glowed a soft blue and he started tracing: runes. He'd stop them after completion, waving them away like a bad memory; runes for lightning, greater fire, magma, ice constructs, light rays, and more. Most were entirely beyond Alyssa's current knowledge, and in her current state, it would be nigh impossible to learn. But the action was more one of nervousness than anything; it was the only thing he could think of that connected them, however platonic it was. H-hey... I-I-I... He sighed , looking down. Not once did his eyes meet hers; to be honest, he was afraid what he'd see. Finally, he turned to her and took in every bit of terror she had. It made Alon white-hot with anger, but he knew this wasn't the time for that. I-I'm here... it's okay. I won't let anything happen to you; if I was there I could've stopped it in the first place. B-but I wasn't, and now I am. So just relax. I'll stay watching in case the sick -blam!- that did this comes back around. She noticed the raging anger inside of him. And seeing it in all sincerity from his golden brown eyes validated what she saw as real. His gaze wandered again his metal hand slowly straightening the cloak of any and all folds so it'd cover her small frame entirely; and also so she could study the sigils on it's back, if she wanted, Alon making sure his body didn't come in contact with hers. Frowning at how he had to do this like a complete stranger, he held his open hand out and upwards. His metal fingertips held a forming ball of light, growing like a sun to the size of a softball. It's light was warm and pleasant, the orb not too bright to look at. Intriguing, even. It growed a little bigger and then turned a joyous green; as if it had a mind of it's own, it danced around with flowing dips and ascents through the air, it's energizingly green light depicting things that made Alyssa happy. And only things that made her happy; it was careful to leave out anything sad or horrible, and Alon, not being able to see what it saw, trusted it wouldn't fail him. Soon two more joined the fray, then five, then ten. Soon more than she could count danced along the corridor, some a joyous green, others a warm cream colour or intense teal. The colours were everywhere, and she couldn't help but feel like smiling for a moment. Alon didn't dare turn, idly tossing the levitating orb between his hands, the one he held a hue of green matching his cloak.
