If I have the checkpoint for the end boss AFTER doing all the previous steps can I continue it with another fireteam?

Progress on the monitors is tied to the loaded instance (aka the raid) and not your character.

So my progress is saved with my checkpoint and I can continue the rest or do i have to start fresh? (we did all steps but left it at the end boss )
