Another Day in the Plaguelands...

Wining and dining in the Archon Forge, waiting for any stranger to settle down and have a date with me, but after about twenty minutes my loneliness overwhelms me and I stumble out into the cold winters night relatively disheartened. Am I ugly? Do I smell weird? Is it because I swim funny? Of course, only I can answer those questions, for the Forge is a lonely place. As the cold wind whips around me and I pull my collar closer to myself to keep out the wind, I hear a distant alarm. I squint into a flurry of snow that so easily impedes my view of the land before, and I see the first sight of a orange diamond slowly filling: the days first public event. With only a few seconds remaining before it disappears forever as I'm the only one patroling this barren wasteland of snow and steel. I call my ghost forth, "we must ride old friend. The vanguard can use our might!" ghost wrinkles his robotic features as if he smelled a two week old gym sock. "Here's your sparrow, just... Wear a more concealable helmet next time... And put some deodorant on next time we're at the tower... Please?" But his words echo only in to the cold night, for my focus is on that event that will rain from the sky. I hop onto my sparrow, feel a rush of adrenaline as I spot the first signs of debris begin to fall, and propel forward into the night to make my mark on this land as a legend. 100 meters. I don't feel the cold. The blood pumping through my veins is alight with the fire of adrenaline and courage. 50 meters. The light from the flowing steel course it's way around the sight of the warsat is like a hot river. I only need to cross it. 45 meters. The ground begins to shake as the warsat breaks orbit and it's debris litters the land. 5 seconds until the event disappears. A flash of light and pain overwhelms me. Everything goes from white, to red, to black. I awake to see ghost above me. He shaking his head. "Wow you suck..." I look to the desolate area that once held an orange diamond to see that there was one second left. I ran. Harder than I have ever ran in my lives... But it was too late. The warsat began to glow a dull shade of red. Soon to a bright red before disappearing. I fall to my knees. How could this have happened? Am I not the legend that was destined to change the world? A world nearly forgotten? My mind runs blank. All I can think about is how different everything could have been... I look upon the cold, abyssmal ocean over a hilltop. "I think I need to go for a swim ghost..." Although I don't see his floating frame, I can hear his apprehension "Okay... But I'm not watching you... So try not to drown..."
