Excuse me, who are you? No I want to be treated fairly. I don't want people to come in and assume my identified gender because of what other people are. I'm asking such a simple request, and people come around and try and turn on me. This is exactly what I'm talking about.

Exactly you have no idea who I am do you. To you I am an random internet entity. My gender is irrelevant in this medium. What exactly do you consider unfair about making a joke at someone without considering gender on the internet?
-
It's unfair because you can't just make offensive jokes like that. People can get really hurt over shit like that.
-
You mean as opposed to saying "trials gave me cancer" you mean like that? So it's ok for you to make jokes like that but not anyone else?
-
I didn't know I included a gender there. Because that was totally directed at a certain gender identity.
-
Of course, cos no way that could be construed as offensive to anyone right? Only gender remarks can be offensive. What if that person had someone close recently pass away from cancer and didn't find that post as amusing as you. Or could it be that you used a popular internet expression and didn't really think much of it, you know like "pics?"
-
I think it's fair that I use it. My mom, my grandmom and my uncle have died of cancer. But is till joke around because it's not offensive. It's like if I said "herpes". You don't just get offended by a disease name.
-
That's flawed logic. It's like if i said it's okay to be racist because I get racist comments made to me all the time. Doesn't work. But clearly you don't wish to admit you may have overreacted so this argument has become redundant.
-
I didn't overreact. There is a fine line between overreacting and standing your ground.
